CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

I let out a sigh as I made my way into the elevator. The past few days had been crazy, I had no idea that I would get married and then have absolutely no idea about the whereabouts of my husband.

I had expected Grant to at least call or text me concerning updates about his plans, but he didn't and neither did he with his best friends.

"Are you alright?" Rainer asked me.

I almost forgot she was right by my side all this while. My father regained consciousness after more than a month in coma two days ago. We were currently in an elevator to get up to the floor where he was admitted.

When I got the news from Dr Raymond, I had no idea how to react to it. Sure, I had been praying for his successful recovery since I heard about his surgery, but now, I was faced with the reality of the situation.

"I am fine," I sighed again.

"You don't look fine. What's the matter? Aren't you excited to meet your father?"

When I visited his room two days ago, he was asleep, same as the previous day, but
