"Make sure that she looks even more fabulous than she usually does," Sarah instructed Patricia, the hair stylist working on my hair.

Sarah had been very keen on making sure that everything concerning the wedding went well.

She said it was always her dream to plan a wedding, especially that of her son's.

She had been like a mother-hen monitoring every single detail concerning the wedding. I had plans to get back to work at the gallery, but Sarah had insisted on taking me for a full spa treatment.

She made appointments with various beauticians to make me look like a princess.

Being around Sarah made me realise that there was a void on my life when Mum was sent to the mental institution.

My Mum and I were never too close, she preferred Somto, but I was satisfied with whatever attention she gave me from time to time, but then Somto passed and it felt like Mum did the same.

I secretly wished in my heart that I had a loving family
