Leonardo Cici led us to the throne room, but I stopped him by the door, “What is Olivia doing here?” I asked. He had taken me by surprise with Nikolai and after that everything had moved too fast for my liking. “She's not supposed to be in there.” I said, one hand on my waist and another brushing my hair back. “She is part of this.” He said, he stood against a wall. “Yes. But for now, I just want the results and not to involve her.” She didn't know I knew and I wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. “Okay then, I'll tell her to leave.” He went inside and spoke to Olivia, who immediately looked at me for confirmation. I nodded my head for her to leave. She looked at the room in detail, before she walked out. Once she had left, Cici closed the door and came to sit down. Now it was the three of us on the round table. Cici turned to Nikolai to bring him up to speed on what the meeting was about. Nikolai nodded in response but didn't seem surprised.
Cici The minute Stanley walked in with Nikolai, I knew that there was no time to waste, and as for waiting that too was gone, the time had finally come to face the music. Leonardo looked at me and then at Nikolai. To be fair Nikolai didn't have the answers either, I had invited him to come because he was the families advisor and if there was going to be a decision between life and death, he needed to be around, even of it involved me. The procedure needed to be fair. I wiped my lips with the napkin and pushed my chair back. It this was my last meal, I had enjoyed it very much. Thank you. Olivia looked horrified and confused, she raised an eyebrow at me when I mentioned her being in the meeting. Although she didn't say as much but I could only guess what her mind was telling her, that her worst nightmare had finally come true. Once everyone was on their feet, Leonardo started walking in front of us and we followed behind him. When he took a turn to go to his office, I
Olivia I lay awake next to Leonardo and counted each breath he took as he slept peacefully beside me. Cassandra was tugged away snug in her new nursery only a few feet away from us, and I was back in Leonardo's bed. What more could a girl ask for? Not only did it feel like the knot I'd been carrying for the past year had dissolved but I knew that I could now breathe again. I put my hand on his bae chest and traced a lazy finger on top of the artwork that adorned his chest and arms. Most of the tattoos were written in a foreign language and I couldn't make out what was written, but for him to have put them on his body, whatever it was, it must have meant something. Leonardo stirred and I froze mid stroke, but he only tightened his arm around me and his breath evened out. Sometime during my exploration I had fallen asleep and I was awoken by a voice In the room. I turned on my side to find the bed cold. With a yawn and my toes stretched, I picked up my head and saw
Leonardo The following day after Isaac's attack on my family. I sat in the sun room feeding Cassandra her milk bottle when I heard footsteps, I turned to find Olivia standing by the door, and for once after a long time, she looked alive in cotton pants and a Cardigan. “Do you want to…?” gesturing to the bottle in my hand. She shook her head and walked closer towards us, finding a seat next to me. She took Cassandra's blanket and put it on her lap. “How are you?” I asked, keeping my voice deliberately low for Cassandra who was falling asleep in my arms. I put the bottle of milk on the table. Olivia didn't seem interested in us, she looked content to watch us from a distance. “I'm fine, only shaken up I guess.” She said, stealing a glance at me. I exhaled. “Do you know why those men came into our home last night?” She asked and I nodded feeling something like peace spread over me at the mention of the words, ‘our home.’ “Was it a deal that soured?” she continued wit
Leonardo I pulled away from 0livia and touched my lips before i left the room and walked away. I needed to control my desire, no matter how strong I shouldn't let deter me from my goal. I needed answers before anything else, but self control seemed to be an extreme sport. I checked my watch before calling Stanley on his cell, he picked after two rings. “Bring the car around.” I said and hung up. “Lunch is ready, are you going to your office,”? Rosa asked as soon as I appeared. “No. I'll grab something on my way, I have a meeting outside the City.” I said and luckily Stanley chose that time to make an appearance. He gave a slight nod to indicate that everything was ready. “Where to boss?” Stanley asked the minute we exited the estate and joined the main road. He knew that today my day was open and since I hadn't made mention of any special meetings, I was supposed to be be free. “I want to check how the work is going at the plant.” I said before sending a text to
Leonardo After the meeting with Cici. I walked out of my office and headed straight to the nursery. Cassandra was with one of the nannies and there was still no sign of Olivia anywhere. “Has Mrs De Luca been here to feed Cassandra?” I asked and the lady inside shook her head, she looked like she was ready to bolt out of the door. I had that calming effect on people. I didn't stick around but instead walked out of the nursery to the room next door which was Olivia's. The reason for the nursery to be close to her room was so that she didn't have to walk from one floor to another to feed Cassandra, otherwise, I might as well have made her nursery in my sentrum. I knocked on Olivia's door but there was. o answer, I pushed the door open and she was sitting on her bed, staring into an empty space. She was still in her pajamas and by the look of things, she hadn't showered or combed her hair. I sat on the bed next to her, when the mattress dipped she looked at me, startle
