Albert POV

"Enough," I cut in harshly, my tone hard.

Diana pouted but did not insist, focusing instead on her meal.

Brielle barely touched food after Diana's cruel words. I could feel the rigidity in her shoulders, the effort to hold back her emotions.

Then, with little prelude, she laid down the fork and rose from her seat. "I'm going upstairs to shower," she murmured.

Diana burst out laughing. "You need it. Just shower well.".

I clattered my fork against the counter, my rage boiling over. But I was too quick; before I could say a single thing, Brielle just turned around and left without even looking back.

I lost my appetite. Without a word, I got up and followed her, ignoring Diana's superior grin.

I caught up with Brielle when she reached our bedroom. She didn't say a thing, just pushed the door open and went in.

I followed her in, closing the door. She reached into the closet for a towel, her movements stiff and robotic.

"Brielle," I said quietly.

She didn't answer. "I just need

Diana’s POVI sat on the edge of my bed, a wicked smile forming on my lips.Albert was planning a birthday party for Brielle. His dear wife. How pathetic.I had overheard one of the maids talking about it. A grand celebration, with some company members in attendance. This was the perfect opportunity. The perfect time to humiliate Brielle once and for all.And this time, no one would be there to save her.I picked up my phone and dialed Jason’s number. He answered on the second ring.“Diana,” he greeted, his voice filled with amusement. “I was wondering when you’d call.”I smirked. “I have a job for you.”“Oh? And what’s that?”I leaned back against the pillows, my fingers tapping against my stomach. “Brielle’s birthday party is in two days. I want it to be a night she’ll never forget.”Jason chuckled. “You want to ruin her?”“I want to destroy her,” I corrected. “In front of Albert. In front of everyone.”Jason was silent for a moment before he spoke. “I think I know exactly how to do

She looked tired, completely unaware of what was coming her way.Perfect.The moment the maid handed Brielle the juice, I smirked and walked closer, my voice dripping with fake sweetness. “Oh, my dear Brielle,” I said, tilting my head. “I see that your birthday preparations are going well. But… you haven’t gone shopping yet, have you? Time is running out, sweetheart. Just one more day left.”Brielle glanced at me but said nothing.I chuckled, taking a step back. “Well, enjoy your juice. You need it.” My laughter echoed through the room as I turned and headed upstairs to my room.Tomorrow was going to be unforgettable.Brielle's POVThe warm water ran down my body as I stood under the

Diana’s POVAs I walked down the hallway, I spotted Nicholas stepping out of his room. I scoffed, shaking my head. “So, you’ve been sleeping all day while the house is practically burning?”Nicholas smirked lazily. “Why not? You seem to have everything under control.”I rolled my eyes. “Albert has been gone for a while now. I wonder where he went.” Not that it mattered. Everything was falling into place. “Anyway, let me get ready for the party.”Nicholas chuckled. “I’m after you.”I reached my room and was about to close the door when Nicholas slipped inside behind me. I turned to glare at him. “What do you think you’re doing?”He leaned against the wall, a sly grin on his face. “Let’s shower together.”I stared at him in disbelief. “Are you out of your mind? Do you want someone to catch you here?” I glanced toward the door, lowering my voice.Nicholas shrugged. “Relax. Albert isn’t home, and Brielle is too busy playing dress-up. No one will notice.”I scoffed. “I don’t have time for

Diana’s POVI grabbed my purse and rushed out of the house, my heels clicking against the marble floor as I made my way outside. I couldn’t let Jason mess this up. He was unreliable, always distracted by women and alcohol. If I didn’t handle things myself, he might just walk into that party and ruin everything. As I reached my car, my phone rang. Jason. I answered immediately."I'm almost at the estate," he said, his voice slightly slurred, but still sharp enough to know he wasn’t completely drunk. "Bring the necklace before I walk in. I want everything in place before I make my move."I smirked. "Good. Stay exactly where you are. I’ll be there in five minutes. Don’t you dare go inside without me."I ended the call and started the engine. Tonight, Brielle’s perfect little world would come crashing down. I drove fast, my fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly. My heart pounded with excitement. Tonight, Brielle’s world would crumble, and I would finally have my way. Albert wouldn’

Diana's POV Albert's grip on his glass tightened. His eyes burned with anger. "At your place?" His voice was dangerously low.Brielle’s face turned pale. “No! That’s not true! I have no idea how he got that necklace!”I bit my lip to stop myself from grinning. Oh, this is going better than I expected.Jason continued, pretending to be hurt. “You don’t remember? I was going to stay quiet, but seeing you here, acting all innocent…” He sighed dramatically. “I didn’t want to believe you would lie to Albert. But I guess I was wrong.”Brielle turned to Albert, panic in her eyes. “Albert, please! I swear, I don’t know what he’s talking about!”Albert’s expression was unreadable, but I could see the storm brewing in his eyes.I leaned closer, pretending to be supportive. “Brielle, if you have something to confess, it’s better to do it now,” I said sweetly.Tears welled in Brielle’s eyes as she turned back to Jason. “Why are you doing this?” she whispered.Jason shrugged. “Because the truth a

Albert POV I nodded."If Diana thinks she got away with this, she will try again. And when she does, we'll be ready."Brielle hesitated, then nodded slowly. "Okay."But before we could talk more, a loud sound interrupted us.A crash.Someone had knocked over a tray of drinks, and in the middle of the chaos, Diana was suddenly standing beside us, smiling sweetly."Is everything okay?" she asked, her voice dripping with fake concern. "I hope Jason didn't ruin your mood, Brielle."Brielle stiffened beside me, and I forced myself to stay calm.Diana was playing her game, but she had no idea that I was already two steps ahead of her.I took a deep breath, forcing myself to push Diana’s schemes aside for now. Tonight was about Brielle. I wasn’t going to let anyone ruin her birthday, especially not someone like Diana.Turning to Brielle, I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small, elegant envelope.“Before I forget,” I said, my voice steady, “I have a gift for you. A surprise.”Brielle

Brielle's POV “We need another plan. Albert gave Brielle a whole damn company tonight. Do you understand how bad that is for us? She’s getting stronger, Nicholas. We need to take her down before she becomes completely untouchable.”I felt my hands tremble. She wasn’t just trying to create a misunderstanding. She wanted to destroy me completely.I clenched my fists, my mind racing.Should I confront her now? Should I tell Albert everything? No.If Diana was planning something bigger, I needed to be smart. I needed to stay one step ahead of her. Brielle POV I nodded, resting my forehead against his. "More than happy. You didn’t have to do all this for me, Albert."He cupped my face, tilting it up so our eyes met. "I’d do anything for you, Brielle. Anything."His words made my heart flutter. I wrapped my arms around his neck, my fingers tangling in his hair. "I don’t need anything else as long as I have you."A slow smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. "That’s good to hear."Before I could respond, his lips captured mine in a kiss that sent shivers down my spine. It started soft, gentle, but soon, it deepened, becoming more desperate, more intense. I clung to him, my fingers tightening around his shirt as his arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me even closer. He flipped us over, pinning me beneath him on the bed. His eyes were dark, filled with an emotion that made my breath hitch. He traced his fingers along my jawline, then down my neck, his touch sending waves of heat through me."Albert..." ALBERT’S POVThe day at the office dragged longer than I expected.Meetings, reports, endless handshakes. But the whole time, I wasn’t focused. My mind kept drifting to Brielle, how quiet she had been since Diana came back. After work, I told the driver to take me to the hospital.I needed to make a quick appearance. Diana was still the woman carrying my child at least, that’s what she claimed. When I walked into her hospital room, she was sitting upright, touching her belly and pretending to look weak.I stepped in and stood near the door."I came to check on you," I said. My voice was flat. Cold. No emotion."Are you sure you can stay? Because I’m leaving right away."Diana’s eyes widened, like she didn’t expect me to say that. She quickly turned to the nurse who had just walked in with a tray."Please, nurse… can I go home with my husband? I’m really feeling better now."The nurse blinked, confused."Oh? Well, if you’re feeling better, I’ll go get the doctor to confirm."She walked

Albert’s POVI didn’t say a word the whole ride to the hospital.Diana sat beside me, holding her stomach and pretending to wince every now and then. I knew her type. Drama queens who’d use a scratch to get attention. When we reached the hospital, the driver stopped.Diana looked at me with hopeful eyes, waiting for me to help her out.But I didn’t move.I stared straight ahead and spoke coldly.“Get down. The nurses will assist you.”“Albert…” she whispered.“Driver, let’s go,” I said sharply. The driver didn’t wait. As soon as Diana stepped one foot out, he drove off.I leaned back in the seat and loosened my tie. I had more important things to think about—like work… and how to make Brielle's life more difficult. She wanted to play the good wife now? Fine. But I wasn’t forgetting what she did. I wasn’t forgetting how she lied… and made me feel like a fool in my own home. Now, it was my turn.I pulled out my phone and looked at the hidden camera footage from the house, the one she di

  • Covering Up For The CEO   Chapter 78

Albert’s POVBrielle walked into the room slowly, like a woman whose whole world had fallen apart. Her face looked pale. Her eyes were dull. She wasn’t crying, but the sadness in her was louder than any tears.I didn’t care. Or at least, I told myself that I didn’t.I watched her walk past me like a ghost. That necklace used to shine on her neck like a promise. Now it was gone, just like the trust I once had in her.“Get yourself a blanket,” I said coldly. “You’re sleeping on the floor. I can’t share my bed with a betrayal.”She stopped, looked at me for a second, then nodded weakly and turned to get the blanket. But as she took a step, I noticed her body sway. She was about to fall.Without thinking, I moved fast and caught her in my arms before she hit the ground. For a moment, everything went still. Her face was inches from mine. Our eyes locked. Her lips trembled, but she didn’t say a word.My heart skipped for a reason I didn’t understand or didn’t want to understand. Albert's POVThe moment I walked through the front door, I was tired. Tired of work, tired of thinking, tired of everything. But what I wasn’t ready for… was seeing Brielle standing in the living room, waiting. Her eyes lit up when she saw me, but behind that light, I could see something else—fear.“You left,” she said quietly. “You didn’t even wait for me.”I dropped my keys on the table and said nothing.“I know I was wrong, Albert. But I’m sorry. I really am. Please… what can I do for you to forgive me?”She took a step closer, eyes shining with tears. But before she could finish her sentence, a small voice broke the silence."Mom! Is that Daddy? Daddy is back!"I froze.I looked up and saw her.Sophie.The little girl I saw at Brielle’s family house. Jason’s child. The one Brielle hid from me.She ran down the stairs like she belonged in my house. And maybe she did now.Because Brielle had already brought her in.I leaned close to Brielle’s ear and whispered, my voice sharp and co

  • Covering Up For The CEO   Chapter 76

Albert’s POVI felt completely betrayed.Brielle looked me in the eye so many times and told me she loved me. But all along, she was hiding something so big… something I should’ve known from the beginning. That night, after what I found out at her family’s house, we didn’t say a single word to each other. I couldn’t look at her. I was angry. Hurt. Disappointed. She tried to explain, but I didn’t want to hear it. My heart was already in pieces.I didn’t sleep much that night. I just laid there, staring at the ceiling, thinking about everything, how I trusted her, how I defended her, and how she still lied to me.The next morning, I got up early and left without saying anything. I didn’t want to argue. I didn’t want more lies. I just needed to get away from her. I went straight to my estate, then to the office. But even at work, I couldn’t focus.I kept thinking about what she did.She didn’t trust me with the truth. What made it worse was remembering her birthday, the day Jason showed

  • Covering Up For The CEO   Chapter 75

Brielle’s POVI stared at Jason as he walked into my family’s house like nothing had happened, like he hadn’t abandoned me when I needed him the most.“What are you doing here?” I snapped, stepping in front of him. “Why did you come?”He smirked, clearly enjoying the tension he was creating. “Why can’t I be here?” he said, walking further inside without permission. “I saw you going into the house earlier, so I thought I’d stop by. Or… did I interrupt something?”His eyes flicked to Albert, who was standing to the side, completely still.Jason pulled out a small box and held it out toward me. “As a good lover, I brought you something. I thought maybe—”Before he could finish, my father’s voice cut through the air like a knife.“Jason, that’s enough,” he said firmly, rising from his seat. “You’re not welcome in this house. You were never welcome. Leave.”Jason glanced at my father, clearly not expecting to be thrown out so directly. “Mr. Julie, I just came to—”“You came to stir trouble

  • Covering Up For The CEO   Chapter 74

Brielle’s POVAfter dinner, I could feel the tension in the air like thick smoke. My heart was still racing from the way Albert looked at Sophia. I hadn’t planned for things to happen like that. I wanted to explain it all in my own time, not like this.Albert was still sitting with my parents in the living room. Mama was trying to change the topic, talking about her garden and the neighbors, but I could see the storm in Albert’s eyes. He hadn’t said a word since Sophia called me Mommy.I quickly excused myself and walked toward the room Sophia had been staying in. My hands were shaking. I knew I had to explain everything soon, but first, I needed to calm Sophia. Maybe she was just excited and tired.I opened the door and stepped inside.“Sophia?” I called gently. She was lying on the small bed, curled up in her pink pajamas. Her teddy bear was by her side. But something felt wrong. I walked closer and placed my hand on her cheek. My heart dropped. She was burning up.“Oh my God,” I wh

Brielle’s POVThe drive to my family home was quiet, but not in a bad way. Just peaceful. Albert kept one hand on the wheel and the other gently tapping to the soft music playing in the background. I looked out the window, feeling a mix of emotions.I was going home. But this time, I wasn’t going alone. As soon as we arrived, I opened the car door and stepped out, stretching a little. The air here smelled different. It smelled like childhood… like memories.Just as I bent to grab my bag from the back seat, I noticed Albert heading straight for the trunk. I raised my brows, confused, until I saw him pulling out his own luggage.“What are you doing?” I asked, watching him throw a strap over his shoulder. He glanced at me with a smirk. “Bringing my things inside.”“When did you even pack?”He shrugged like it was nothing. “You were busy getting ready, so I quietly packed mine too. I didn’t want to tell you. I thought it’d be a nice surprise.”I laughed softly. “You’re unbelievable. So yo

Brielle’s POVI stared at the message on my phone for a long time. My chest felt tight, like something heavy was pressing on it. I couldn’t breathe right. She’s tired of pretending. She’s asking about you again. My hands were shaking as I picked up the phone and dialed my sister’s number. She answered almost immediately.“Brielle?” she said softly.“Yeah, it’s me,” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.“You saw my message?”“I did,” I said. “I… I’ll come around this week. I need to. I need to see her. I’ll spend more time with her.”There was silence on the other end, and then I heard my sister sigh.“She misses you, Brie. She keeps drawing pictures of you. She keeps asking when her ‘real mommy’ is coming. It’s getting hard to keep lying.”I wiped a tear from my cheek. “I know. I’m sorry. I’ve just been so caught up in everything. With Albert. With this new baby. With everything going wrong…”“Does he know?” she cut in.I swallowed hard. “No. Not yet.”“Brielle…”“I’ll tell him
