LOGINKyra
My mouth falls open when I see the woman working inside.
She’s gorgeous, too beautiful to even be human.
Steven lets go of my hand and smirks, like he’s enjoying my discomfort.
“Why the fuss this morning?” he asks lazily, his eyes fixed on her.
The girl walks up to me, her smile soft but sharp, almost mocking. She touches my hair, studying me like I’m something she just bought from the store.
“She’s beautiful,” she says, still smiling.
Steven’s smirk “I know what you’re pulling, Lora.”
“Stay out of this, Steven. This is girl talk,” Lora says sweetly.
“Too bad.” Steven steps closer, his presence dark and suffocating. “Me and this girl have somewhere to be.” He takes my hand before I can react.
“Oh, is that so?” Lora says, picking up her bag. She leans closer to me. “Be careful with this man, beauty,” she whispers, almost like a warning.
Steven’s expression darkens. “Suits yourself,” he says, pulling me outside.
Without a word, he opens the car door for me. His sudden gentleman act sends shivers down my spine.
Inside the car, he doesn’t speak. He just smokes, one hand on the wheel, the other tapping the cigarette, his jaw hard. He doesn’t even look at me.
“Who is she?” I finally gather the courage to ask.
He glances at me through the side mirror and smirks.
“You’re noisy,” he thunders, his voice so cold it makes me flinch.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper, sinking into my seat.
He presses harder on the gas, the car speeding like we’re being chased. In what feels like seconds, we reach the Roberts’ house.
I breathe in relief as soon as we arrive. Mrs. Robert is always kind. Maybe I’ll be safe here.
“I hope we don’t cross paths again,” Steven says suddenly, his words like a knife.
Before I can reply, Robert comes out, smiling awkwardly.
“Come in…”
“No.” Steven cuts him off sharply. “I was only dropping her.”
“But… why? Your men could have—” Robert stops, his voice trembling. His nervousness sends a chill through me.
“I’ll go back. See you around, Robert.” Steven checks his watch, his tone casual but heavy with meaning.
“Why would you see me around?” Robert asks, voice louder, but Steven’s car is already gone.
I watch him leave, and it feels like my chest caves in. Maybe this is the last time I see him. Goodbye, Steven.
When I look at Robert, I realize his legs are shaking.
“Why are you so nervous?” I ask carefully.
“You have no idea how dangerous Steven really is,” he mutters.
“What…”
“I can’t handle this, Kyra,” he says, shaking his head like a man who’s given up.
“What’s going on, Robert?” My voice cracks.
“Coming to my house like this twice… it’s enough. I can’t let him come here again.”
My heart races. “So what does that mean?”
“You have to go, Kyra.”
“You can’t do this! Let me talk to Mrs. Robert—”
“I’m sorry.” He shuts the door in my face.
I stand there for nearly an hour, my legs trembling, until I can’t feel them anymore.
Where am I supposed to go now?
Yes, I’m free from the devil… but what now?
Homeless. No money. No food. And I’ve probably already been fired.
I run to the restaurant where I used to work part-time. As I expected, I already have a replacement. No matter how much I beg, they don’t listen.
Wow, Kyra. You’re doomed.
I hide in the washroom, staring at my reflection, my tears mixing with my makeup. I look beautiful, almost fairy-like, but it only makes me want to laugh.
“You can’t, Kyra. No way not to Mr. Devil,” I mutter to myself. “I’d rather die in the streets.”
With nowhere else to go, I walk back to campus.
No friends. No phone. No one to talk to. Just a freshman with nowhere to belong.
I sit on a bench, waiting for my classes. People glance at me, whispering. I think it’s because I look nice in this dress like a princess. Then I notice they’re laughing.
Why are they laughing?
Suddenly, a car parks right next to me. My heart nearly stops when Daylan steps out. Daylan.
He’s perfect tall, elegant, with that quiet confidence that makes every girl on campus lose her mind, and i have the huge crush on him
He walks past me, and my heart pounds so hard I can barely breathe. I sniff his scent God, he smells so good. I’m so lost in the moment I don’t notice he’s turned back until he’s right in front of me.
“What are you doing?” His voice is deep, close enough to make my breath hitch.
“N-nothing,” I stammer.
“You look terrible in that dress,” he says bluntly, walking away.
I bite my lip. So that’s why they were laughing. Steven really has terrible taste in clothes.
But still… Daylan talked to me. That’s all that matters.
After classes, reality crashes back. Where will I sleep tonight?
The only place I can think of is Steven’s mansion.
I must be out of my mind.
But he wouldn’t let me sleep on the streets… right?
I take a taxi to his mansion, praying he won’t throw me out. I can’t even pay the driver. My hands are shaking as I ring the bell.
Steven opens the door, his lips smeared with lipstick, look like he was kissing someone,My stomach twists.
“Why are you here?” he asks, his eyes narrowing.
“Help me… please,” I whisper.
He leans against the doorframe, his expression dark.
“You must have a death wish, Kyra.”
“I…I have no—”
“So you escaped me, and now you’re begging to stay?” His voice is sharp enough to cut.
“I…”
“You have no idea what danger you’re walking into. Just go home.” He turns away.
“But the taxi fee—”
The door slams in my face.
My legs give out. My mind shuts down.
“You’re wasting my time, lady,” the driver snaps, stepping out of the car.
Before I can answer, a strong hand grabs mine.
Steven!
In one swift motion, he throws me over his shoulder.
“You asked for this,” he whispers, his voice low and dangerous.
He tosses cash at the driver, then carries me inside like I weigh nothing, slamming the door behind us.
When he finally sets me down, he give me that dark gaze
“You wanted my attention? Congratulations, you have all of it now.”
He leans closer, his smirk devilish.
“And trust me, Kyra… I’m not letting you go this time.”
KyraI still can’t believe Daylan asked me out this morning. For fuck’s sake, this has to be a dream because I’m losing my mind right now. But why are my eyes fixed on this devil’s lips? Maybe it’s because they remind me of last night’s kiss, that wasn’t just a kiss, it was poison. Steven drugged me, and I’m still high, still drunk on the memory of his lips.My heart skips when I realize Steven’s staring at me.“I told you to end those stupid feelings for Daylan,” he says, with warning.“Well, I like your brother, Steven, and I can’t just stop liking him because you told me to.”“Wow,” he mutters darkly, lighting a cigarette, the flame flashing across his cold eyes. “So now you’re talking back? Our little Kyra’s brave now, huh?”He laugh is bitterly, his hands gripping the wheel tighter as he pushes the car faster. The air turns cold, colder than usual.“No Daylan. From now on,” he says, pulling over.“Well, I—”“I don’t speak twice, Kyra,” he cuts me off, sharp, final. He opens my do
Steven “What happened last night?” That’s the first thing I ask Kyra the moment I wake up in her bed. My heart races wildly as she gets dressed, pretending not to hear me.She rolls her eyes and stays silent. That makes my blood boil. I approach her, grab her face, and force her to look at me. “I asked you a question,” I say in a deep, dangerous voice. “N–Nothing happened…” she stammers, startled. “You sure?” I press. “We… only… kissed,” she whispers, her voice trembling.I smirk, hiding the smile threatening to escape. “I don’t remember anything about last night,” I say, stepping closer. “How about helping me recall?” Her innocent eyes meet mine wide, nervous, beautiful. “But…” “Shhh.” I hush her, tracing her jawline with my eyes.“You have a beautiful smile,” she murmurs, her cheeks blushing. My heart is thumping so fast that I’m afraid she might hear it. I let go of her hands. “That wasn’t a smile,” I mutter quickly, stepping away. What the hell is wrong with me? Why woul
StevenWatching how Kyra keeps staring at Daylan proves she’s totally into him. He’s my younger brother, and I know him too damn well. He’s a jerk who dumps women the moment he’s done using them.I grab Kyra by the neck, forcing her to stop looking at him through the side mirror.“Bury every feeling you have for him,” I command, my voice deadly.“I don’t have feelings—”“Shhh,” I cut her off, with my sharp tone. “That’s a command.”She shivers. I take a drag from my cigarette before starting the car, accelerating just enough to make her close her eyes in fear. I smirk and slow down again, enjoying the control. When we finally reach my mansion, I spot Lola, my girlfriend, fighting with my girls. I get out of the car.“What’s going on here?” I thunder. The noise dies instantly.“I was just teaching your toys a lesson,” Lola says, approaching me with a smug smile.“I missed you so much, honey,” she adds sweetly, pressing her lips to mine.I don’t hold back. I kiss her hungrily, deep enou
Once I wake up, Steven is gone, and the mansion is quiet too quiet. The dress from yesterday still hangs neatly on the wall. I rush into the bathroom; I’m almost late for campus. The scent inside is intoxicating, sweet and dark, like him. After getting ready, I hurry outside, and find a sleek black car waiting for me. One tall man steps forward and opens the door. I hesitate, but his polite insistence wins me over. They already know my destination. When we reach the campus, one of them steps out and opens my door, bowing slightly. My eyes widen in shock.“You don’t have to do that,” I whisper, embarrassed as a few students gasp and stare. Then I see Daylan. Cold as ever, yet my heart thump just seeing him.“What’s going on here?” he asks, coldy as always.“N-nothing, I—”“I’m not interested anyway,” he interrupts, walking off like I never existed. My face burns, but I can’t stop smiling like an idiot. The men notice, and smirk before driving off.Inside the classroom, no one even glan
I should have stayed on the streets. I should have frozen to death rather than come back here. Because now, the way Steven looks at me with those black, hungry eyes, feels worse than death itself. When I glance at the couch, Lola. She never left. She’s probably the one he was kissing minutes ago, her lipstick still staining his mouth. How can someone like her, beautiful, almost untouchable, belong to him?“Hey, princess,” she says with a smile like a poison. “We met again. I guess we’re destined.”“Come here, baby girl.” She pats the cushion beside her, pretending sweetness.“You have to go, Lola.” Steven says, his voice calm but heavy.“Why? I’m having fun with Kyra,” she says, her eyes glittering with cruelty.“You know what I mean.” His tone shifts, darker, sharper.“Whatever.” She scoffs, collecting her bag. But before leaving, she kisses him on the lips. He doesn’t push her away. He pulls her deeper, kissing her until she looks drunk on him. I want to vomit. When she’s gone, he sit
