Chapter 15

Valen’s POV

“Wait, how did you find me? How did you know that I was here?”

"I followed you because I was worried about what you might find."

“You have been following me? For how long?” I started feeling weird as I realised that she must have seen everything that I had been doing

“Not too long ago,” she seemed to notice my sudden discomfort. “ I noticed that you were gone for too long, and I decided to search for you. I thought something bad happened to you…” she looked at me with sadness in her eyes

“Uhm… okay,” I didn’t know what to say again

"We need to get closer," she urged. "You need to see them properly."

“I have already,” I felt sick as I spoke. “ I don’t want to see that again “

“You will need evidence that you saw her,” Gina urged. “She can always deny this night without you having an evidence”

“Fine”

We moved around to the door. I took a proper look this time and I started noticing details that I did not see before

There were small transparent bags scattered around the room. Because of how transparent the bag were, we could see the white powder inside.

Some of them were filled with pills

Now those were hard drugs. Those drugs smuggled from the human kingdom

"Oh my goodness,” Gina gasped. "Hard drugs, Valen. Those could kill her."

“Oh my goddess,” I gasp too

“Wait, let me take pictures of her. We need to have evidence…” Gina brought out her phone and started clicking away

The man suddenly heard us and he turned back sharply. He noticed that we were there. He got into a frantic mode. He stood up and started running around for his clothes. When he saw his clothes, he wore them and started adjusting his clothes.

When I saw that he was so frantic about the whole thing, Dada told me to push the door open, and so pushed the door open.

As the door hit the wall in a loud bang, the man got startled. He jumped off her like a child caught stealing too much sweet on halloween. He turned back sharply and he saw us. His eyes narrowed to me, he seemed to recognise me. He panicked.

His panic level increased. He began acting very frantic. He didn’t even utter a word. He was just so eager to leave. He was naked, so after he hurriedly took off his condom, he scrambled around the place for his clothes.

I suddenly tried to stop him, but Gina grabbed my hand and shook her head in disapproval. I was livid. I wanted to catch him and beat him up. But she held my hand stronger and now mouthed to me not to make a move. I decided not to attack him even though I wondered why she would not let me

He soon finished grabbing his clothes. He didn’t wear all of them. He was even wearing only his boxers. The last thing that he grabbed was his jacket that was on the ground. When he was dine, pushed past me and started running. I didn't even get a good look at his face properly. All I knew was that I had never seen him and he was not from this pack.

With him gone, I turned to Veyra ready to confront her. However, I noticed that something was weird. She had not moved. She didn’t even move when the man took his clothes and ran away. Something must be wrong with her

"Veyra!" I called her name, but she didn't even flinch.

She was lying there, she looked cold- like she was lifeless. I started panicking. “Veyra!” I moved closer to her. But she did not reply to me. I noticed that she was still Britain, but she was not written well

"Oh my god," Gina said from behind me. "Look at this mess. Look at what she's done to herself. Where did she even meet the man from?"

I knelt beside Veyra. I was scared. She looked so weak. I tried to find her pulse, but I was not skilled enough for that

Gina just kept looking around the room, searching for only the goddess knows what

I focused on Veyra, ignoring wjat Gina was doing. Veyra was going to die at any moment. I needed to help her. She had helped me once when I was almost dead. She had given up her wolf essence for me before just because she loved me. I knew that she had cheated on me, but I was not ready to lose her. I knew there was a good reason that she cheated. I didn’t think I would survive if she died. I started shaking her shoulder. "Veyra, wake up. Wake up!"

There was no reply from her

Panic smothered me

"She's been taking hard drugs," Gina said asked if I could not see what was happening, she picked up one of the bags, brought it close to her nose and started coughing. She coughed violently so much that I started worrying about her too

“Damn! Why would you put that in your nose!” I rush to hold her and guided her to sit down

"This stuff... it is dangerous,” she said after she had caught her breath. “ only the goddess knows how long she has been doing this …”

"I don't know," I said with confusion in my head. "I had no idea. How could she be doing this kind of thing? This is contraband! She could get into trouble for this!”

Even though I told myself that I hated her and I really wanted to listen to Dada who was telling me to just kill her there and then . Even though I felt so furious and imagined what it would be like to expose her cheating and drug addict self to the public. Even though I felt so betrayed by her and I wished I could go to the past with time travel and make sure I never met her. Even though me and Dada swore never to talk to her again and said we wish she would rot in hell, I couldn't just leave her there to die.

If she dies, I would suffer. I would grieve her loss like she was a saint. I would never get over her. I would never heal. I would never forget the image of another man on top of her. I would never get closure. I would have never gotten a chance to confront her. I didn’t want her to die. I didn’t want her around either. I told myself I hated her, but a part of me still cared about her. I really never stopped caring, but I just had to force myself to stop giving a shig about her. It is hard when someone you love betrays you in the worst ways possibly . I was almost lying to myself that whatever I saw was not true.

"I am going to call a doctor,” Gina said, pulling out her phone.

"Wait," I grabbed her arm. "If you call the pack doctor, everyone will know. She'll be in huge trouble for having drugs. My father will have to deal with this officially. I don’t want her to get into trouble"

“Why do you still care about her? She brought this on herself. She has been so infidel!” Gina seemed to hit the fact that I was still caring about Veyra

“ I don’t just want her to get into trouble. My father could exile her! I don’t want that,” I say with kind of finality that seemed to irritate Gina the more

“ I don’t know why you took care,” she murmured. “After all she has done to you? That is why she keeps taking you for granted, because she knows you will always come back…”

I ignored Gina, and I switched the topic immediately. I was not ready to start talking about how Veyta always took me for granted.

"I will call my private doctor," I said. “ I will take her to my room so that nobody will know what is happening. And you must not tell anybody what’s happening here, okay?” I gave her a stern look

She hesitated for a moment before she nodded grumpily, “okay, so what are we going to do now?”

“We are taking her away from here. Now help me let us lift her up,” I said already getting ready to lift Veyra

“Help you?” Gina twisted her face in disgust. “Valen, Veyra has been eating a lot lately, she is so heavy now! Her weight would kill us both!”

“It doesn’t seem like that to me…” I sized Veyra up with my eyes

“You are eyeballing her. She checked the scales in my presence two days ago and she has gained not even a few pounds. She has gained a whole lot of pounds. Her belly has grown bigger. She has just been eating everything in the pantry.”
