Ethan’s POV

“I would have gotten the chance to say hello to the devil on your behalf.” She mutters coldly.

Wow. “T for thanks.”

“Anyways, don’t bother yourself trying to escape through the tunnel again; it has been destroyed.” With that said, I give her a charming smile and walk out of the room.

Elizabeth cries until dawn. I hear her loud and clear in my room but I can’t do anything to help her.

And it hurts.

I’m afraid that if I go to her, I might not be able to withstand it and just send her back to where I picked her up from.

But I want her here. I need her here. So, I simply ignore deafening, heart wrenching cries.

After that incident, I completely avoid Spitfire. I think she’s avoiding me too. We haven’t crossed paths since then.

Everyday, very early in the morning, I’ll leave before she wakes up and won’t return home until after midnight when I’m sure she’ll be asleep.

I only ask after her from Alexa who always tells me she’s doing well.
