The Contract

General POV

The stupid girl, despite all her effort, still has failed to vanish from her sight. Moana fights back a sneer.

“Hello, Moana.” Elizabeth beams back at her.

“Alexa, can you perhaps get me a glass of water?” Elizabeth’s so tired, she sinks onto one of the dining chairs immediately.

Unknown to her, her words make Moana angry.

‘Who does the girl think she is—the woman of the house? Oh, so now, she’s getting more comfortable in the mansion… and has become so pompous she can’t get a glass of water herself—she’s started ordering people around…” Moana scoffs inwardly.

Alexa, who is glad that the ma’am is downstairs, quickly scurries off into the kitchen and is soon back with a clean glass of sparkling water.

“Thank you.” Elizabeth smiles gratefully.
