Part 4

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME, DAD?!" Feli widened her eyes in disbelief.

Leonel flashed a reassuring smile at his daughter.

"Daddy, do you know what? Being a maid is already hard for me. And Dad is throwing me into another country?! Dad, is Daddy healthy?" asked Feli again unhappily. "Oh... I'm sure Daddy is not well at the moment!" snorted Feli irritably.

Feli was very surprised when Leonel gave her a plane ticket to Spain. Even more surprised, the flight ticket was a regular class ticket. Isn't it cruel?! Her buttocks would definitely hurt throughout the trip. She who used to use a high class plane every vacation abroad had to use a plane with hard seats? Oh... maybe it was an exaggeration, because the seats on a regular class plane would not be as hard as she imagined, but still Feli couldn't accept all this.

This would really be her first time using a regular airplane.

"Was I really your daughter?! How could Daddy ask me to be a maid in a foreign country?!" asked Feli with a hurt look. Feli turned her gaze towards her Mommy who was beside her Daddy. "Mom, are you going to let your dear daughter be away from you? Hiks... Mom..."

The Mommy immediately stepped towards Feli, then hugged her daughter's body tightly. "It's only one month, sweetie... after that, you can ask your Daddy for anything you want. If necessary, spend all your Daddy's money. Mom will support you, Baby Girl!" enthused Charlotte with a piercing glare at Leonel, as if to tell Leonel, 'Watch out if anything happens to my daughter, Leon!".

Charlotte didn't know why her husband insisted on their daughter becoming a maid, in a foreign country too! But Charlotte tried to believe that her husband would not harm their child.

Leonel swallowed hard, afraid that his wife would be very angry with him after this. But he couldn't just cancel his plan. He had thought it through.

"Hiks... but... why does it have to be in Spain, Mom? Why... why did Dad enroll me there?"

"Baby Girl, Dad just wants you to be a strong girl. Daddy wants to see if daddy's daughter can survive in a foreign land. Besides, if you become a maid in this country, daddy is afraid that people will recognize you, sweetie. Your cover will be blown, and you can be sure that if that happens, you will lose this mission," Leonel explained gently.

Charlotte and Feli were silent for a moment. The two women of different generations were lost in their own thoughts. In their hearts they confirmed what Leonel said.

Leonel is one of the most successful businessmen in the country. His family was often in the media spotlight, and of course most people in the country knew Felicity Jolicia, the only child Leonel and Charlotte had. Although Feli was never in the spotlight directly, because Leonel would immediately eliminate all news about Feli if it happened, but Leonel had to keep thinking about all the possibilities that happened.

"You've already agreed to this mission, darling. If you cancel now, daddy won't promise to follow your every wish. Daddy knows you are daddy's child who never breaks her promises."

Feli tightened her embrace. The famously cute-faced girl seemed to be thinking hard.

Should she back out? If she backed down, her wish to make Selena without Gomes gape in defeat would be dashed.

"Honey—"

"Well..." Feli cut Charlotte off. She broke their embrace. "Only one month?" Feli asked Charlotte.

"I think so, my darling..."

Feli sighed resignedly. She would consider this a vacation, a torturous vacation actually. But what else could she do, she didn't want to lose to Selena without the Gomes!

"Alright Mom, I'll prove to Mom's husband that I can complete this damn mission!" said Feli earnestly. The young woman glanced at Leonel, then lifted her chin haughtily. "Just get ready, after one month, I'm going to spend Daddy's money!" said Feli again, still in the same tone.

Charlotte giggled at her daughter face, which looked cute instead of creepy. "Mommy can't wait to see you spend Mr. Leonel's money, Baby Girl..." said Charlotte while pinching her child's cheeks.

Meanwhile, Leonel could only sigh with relief. He hoped his decision was right.

"Sir, Mrs. Mendez asked that you contact her."

A handsome man with an athletic build and a firm jaw remained silent without taking his eyes off the window of his office in the Mendez Aero Corp Building. One of the biggest companies in the world, which had produced thousands of airplanes and private jets. The man leaned one hand on the large window that showed a view of other buildings that were no taller than his family's building.

"Sir—"

"I hear you, no need to repeat yourself, Eloy," the man said flatly to his secretary. But his gaze did not waver from the view outside the building.

Eloy Damario, the secretary, could only sigh in resignation. His boss was notoriously stiff, and always flat-faced. He would only speak as needed.

All of the employees in the company had a great deal of respect for their CEO who was also the sole heir of Mendez Aero Corp.

Eloy cleared his throat nervously, "Mr. Mendez… please excuse me.”

The man standing in front of the window simply mumbled an affirmative, without bothering to open his mouth to reply.

Not long after, there was the sound of the door closing. Signaling that the secretary had left the room. Suddenly, his cell phone rang again, for who knows how many times in the past hour.

He chuckled in annoyance, turned around, and strode to his oversized desk. He rolled his eyes lazily to see who was calling him.

Lazily, he scrolled through his smartphone screen.

“Hola, Mah-dreh ( Hello, Mom )?”

>> "DID YOUR SECRETARY NOT DELIVER MY MESSAGE, JERRALD NATANIEL MENDEZ?"

“Hola, Mah-dreh ( Hello, Mom )?”

The man named Jerrald Nataniel Mendez, commonly called Jerrald, moved the cell phone away from his ear for a moment, then brought it back to his ear while massaging the bridge of his nose. "He delivered it, Mah."

>> "Then why didn't you call Mah-dreh?!"

"I was just about to call you," he lied.

>> "You want to lie to the woman who gave birth to you, Mi Hijo (My son)?" asked someone on the other side in a sarcastic tone.

Jerrald shrugged his shoulders in surrender. "I'm sorry. My work was piling up, Mah."

>> "Oh... your work will always pile up, Mi Hijo, but that doesn't mean you can neglect your family!"

"Alright, once again I apologize."

>> "Mah-dreh will forgive you as long as you accept Mah-dre's offer—"

"We already talked about it, Mah, and I already said I don't need a maid in my apartment."

>> "And Mah-dreh doesn't take no for an answer! Tomorrow you must be at your apartment, because Mah-dreh is bringing a maid there!"

"Ma—"

Jerrald's lips reflexively pursed as his mother unilaterally cut off their phone line. He blinked a few times in disbelief, then exhaled in annoyance.

"I don't need a maid or anyone else! Why won't Mah-dreh understand?!" irritated Jerrald. He slammed his body roughly into his proud chair.

It had been a week since his mother had bothered him by saying she would hire a maid for the luxurious apartment he had lived in for several years. Jerrald refused, because he really didn't like communicating with strangers except his business partners. Even then, it was a necessary communication.

Jerrald had actually had maids a few times, and it was all because of his mother's coercion. However, several times Jerrald made the maids feel uncomfortable working with him.

Jerrald really didn't like dealing with strangers!

"Damn it! You'll see, I'll make that maid feel uncomfortable working with me!" Jerrald monologued while letting out his smirk. "Whoever you are, pray you're okay after falling into my trap, Miss Maid," Jerrald exclaimed again.
