6: Cross Connections

Armaan's POV,

As Bhai and I sat in together waiting for the setup of the next scene of our MV, I noticed him looking at that fangirl who was talking with the producer regarding the payments, and smiling to himself.

"Ahem!"

He turned to me.

"Bhai, are you alright?" I asked

"Yeah why?" He asked clueless.

"Don't you think you're showing a lot of interest in that fangirl?" I said.

"She has a name. It's Ayesha!" He hit the back of my head gently.

"Whoa! So you're going to hit your brother for some girl?"

"Sure, if he continues to be an idiot."

I stared at him shocked. The guy who wouldn't even talk to girls properly is so inclined to this girl? He's fighting with me for HER? Well, we fight all the time but.....this is..... strange.

"Bhai, be honest. Do you like that girl?"

He smiled. "Maybe." He shrugged.

My jaw was on the floor and I was lost for words.

"Wait.....what???? You....like....her?! I mean seriously? That psychopath?!"

"Hey who are you calling a psychopath? She's a really great girl!" He scoulded.

My brain felt like it just exploded. My bhai likes a fangirl? And that to my fangirl?! Should I be jealous?

She walked towards us with her usual goofy grin, oogling me. She never fails to scare me.

"Hey Ayesha." Bhai said with all smiles.

"Hey Amaal."

'Amaal? She's calling him Amaal now?'

They started talking as if they've know eachother for ages.

'Is this really my brother?'

Now that I think about it... In just a matter of days she's been soo close with everyone. What is with her? Even my manager treats her as if she's his sister or something. Not to mention my Mom. Since the day she met her, Mom has really turned into her fan or something. She has even entered Dad's good books.

Ayesha's POV,

It's been 2 weeks, 4 days and 3 hours now since I'm working for the Malik's. In all this I try to spend as much time as I can with Armaan. But God! He really has a tight schedule. In all this time knowingly or unknowingly I've won the hearts of everyone except for me dear Armaan. Whatever I do, I just can't win him over. For him I'm still the crazy fangirl. He doesn't even want to believe that I love him.

Even now when I walked upto him, he ignored me completely and I could only talk to Amaal. Now Amaal is really sweet. He supported me since the very beginning. I can't believe how fast we become friends. If only this was the case with Armaan too. Then there's the Bitchy diva. Always ready to spill acid on my plans on winning my Armaan over.

πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

Today's Amaal's birthday. I thought of buying him a present but what can I buy a person who has everything? Even if I buy something for him it would automatically be useless. I was surprised that I was even invited. He doesn't like big parties so he said it would be just family and close friends. Can't believe I even fall in that category!

πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

As I entered the house it looked the same as it normally does. Nothing special. I found Amal as usual in his music room.

"Hey!" He smiled widely.

"Hi.. happy birthday." I came forward with my hand. He shook it.

"Thanks. I'm glad you came."

"Ofcourse I did. How could I not when Amaal Malik himself invited me to his birthday." I said.

He chuckled. "Hey, don't be soo dramatic. I'm just Amaal when I'm with you. No music director.... nothing."

I smiled.

Just then I heard HIS voice and as usual my heart........ πŸ’ƒ

"Happy birthday my dear brother!" Armaan said excitedly hugging Amaal.

He hugged him back tightly grinning.

"Thank you my brother!"

Aww it's always soo cute to see these too brothers loving and caring for eachother. I couldn't help but Fangirl....but.... I made sure to keep it to a limit.

"The party, the cake, the guest.... everything's ready. Let's go Amaal bhai." Armaan said throwing his arm over Amaal's shoulder. Oh God! Armaan looks soo manly and hot when he does stuff like that. Oooooh myyyyy! 😍

😍😍😍

The party was quite simple in a restaurant with a private room booked but everyone there was quite hyped up. Miss Bitchy Diva was as usual sticking to my Armaan like a piece of tape that gets stuck on your fingers but when you try to remove it, it gets stuck to your other hand and the struggle goes on and on. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at that.

We were all dancing and singing.

"Hey Ayesha. Sing something." Amaal said.

"Huh? Me?" I looked around confused and shy.

"Yes. We all wanna hear you sing. Your such a big fan of Armaan's. Let's see your singing skills." He said.

"Um.... I...."

"Oh come on.... Ayesha.... Ayesha... Ayesha...." Amaal started it and everyone else joined in too. Armaan was quitely anticipating.... I guess.

"Ok ok. Fine. I'll sing!" I finally said giving up.

"Yay...."

I giggled at Amaal's excitement and started singing. I started singing one of Armaan's song shyly but then I got soo immersed in it that I forgot I had an audience.

When I was finished I looked around and everyone looked shocked and surprised at me. Even Armaan.

My eyes shifted from 1 person to another, to another, and..... another.

"What's wrong?"

"Wow Ayesha! That was beautiful." Amaal said and everyone agreed with him.

"Really?" I asked blushing.

"Well, I guess it was kinda ok. Atleast you didn't make fun of yourself." Armaan said looking everywhere but at me and cleared his throat. I giggled blushing. I guess I impressed him. He's soo cute.....

After a while, I went to the washroom to freshn'up. Bitchy diva came swaying a while later. I rolled my eyes.

"Your quite a decent singer I must say." She said standing beside me in front of the mirror touching up her lipstick.

"Thanks... I guess." I said and ignoring her went inside to use the bathroom.

[Ayesha's bag was still outside. Shanaya was already pissed that Ayesha managed to impress Armaan and even Amaal was inclining towards her. She just wanted a way to get rid of Ayesha.

'Maybe I can find something in her bag to use against her.' she thought.

She quitely opened Ayesha's bag simultaneously keeping an eye out for intruders. Especially the owner of the bag.

'Ugh, such a cheap bag. Is it even branded?'

She went through the stuff.

'What?! No make up. Is she even a girl?'

There were just simply things inside. Nothing controversial in particular. Suddenly she found something.

A diary.

'Maybe this could work.'

She heard the stall opening and hastily shut the bag and hid the diary behind her.]

As I came out I saw her looking at me as if she saw a ghost.

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing. I....uh... gotta go. The party won't start without me." She stammered a bit and hurried out.

'She's quite a weird specimen.'

Armaan's POV,

Amaal bhai is literally smitten by that girl. I don't know why am I soo interested in her? She seems like a nice girl though. But... What do you know?

I was talking with a friend when Shanaya came up to me.

"Armaan I need to talk to you?"

"Ok"

"Alone." She said looking a bit serious.

"I'll catch you later man." My friend said and left us alone.

"What's soo serious that you wanted to talk about?" I asked her.

She looked at the direction where Amaal bhai and Ayesha were.

"It's about Ayesha. She's not everything what she shows us all to be."

"Ayesha? Why what's wrong with her?"

Ayesha's POV,

I was laughing and joking with Amaal at the party.

"Hey, let's go somewhere." He said suddenly.

"Where? And you want to leave your own party?" I asked him.

"Sure." He shrugged. "It's my party. I can do anything I want."

"Are you sure?" I asked him looking around at all the people. I was surprised that Amaal was left alone with me and not crowded with all the people at his own birthday party.

"Relax. I'm not going to take you anywhere secluded and do anything bad with you." He said throwing his hands up in defence.

I giggled. "Ofcourse you don't. Your a good man." I patted his shoulder.

"Thankyou ma'am." He said dramatically.

"So shall we?"

"K"

We went on a ride through out the city in his car.

"Are you sure we won't get mobbed by your fans and they won't get the wrong idea?"

"Hopefully not. And it's dark now I don't think people would pay much attention." He said driving.

We kept on driving and talking  when he stopped his car near the Versova beach. There weren't many people there at a spot.

The air was soo fresh and soothing as I stood facing the ocean, it blew my hair back. The dim light made the sand look unrealistic and the sound of the waves crashing..... Awesome. I just love the ocean. I closed my eyes and spread my arms.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it." I said with my eyes still closed.

"Me too. The sound of the waves crashing to the shore is like a new music everytime I hear it. The wind plays with the water."

"Hmm."

After a min....

"How much do you like Armaan?"

I opened my eyes and smiled at him.

"Like? I guess that's an understatement. He is actually the reason I go on. I never talked to him or touched him or saw him in person. Still whenever I heard him it was as if he was calling to me. It was as if I belonged to him. I really, really, really...... REALLY LOVE ARMAAN." I said giggling like a fool, feeling the ocean with closed eyes and open arms.

Just then I felt a hand hold my arm and the wind being blocked from front of me. A few strands of hair fell back on my face while the rest of my hair flew back. I opened my eyes and found Amaal right in front of me.

I looked at him confused as he looked straight in my eyes intensely. He tugged my hair behind my ear. My heart raced for no reason.

"Ayesha..... then.... Can't you love me?" He said.
