Anya’s POV

Lev opens the car door and the old air hits my face.

He pushes me into the back seat of a big black SUV and I fall onto the leather seat, the door shuts hard.

Click. The locks go down.

I pull the handle. Nothing happens. No way out.

The windows are dark. I see only shadows of snow outside.

The car starts and we move.

My cheek still burns from the slap, Nikolai’s slap. I touch it. It is hot.

I ask Lev, “Where is the dacha?”

He sits in front but says nothing to my question. He looks straight like I had not spoken.

The drive feels long and I am already tired. Still can’t believe my jerk of a father sold me to Nikolai Morozov, a pakhan.

I watch the snow hits the glass, making soft taps.

My hands shake in my lap.

The car suddenly slows. Iron gates which I did not know we have approached open slow.

Tall. Black. Guards stand with rifles. Two big dogs bark once. Then quiet.

We drive on a long path. Snow crunches under the tires.

They were trees all around. Silver birch. White bark

Anya’s POVThe guard’s fingers bite deep into my arm like hot iron as he drags me down the long hall with no mercy. Cold water drips from my soaked hair in steady streams. Each drop hits the marble floor with a sharp splash. My black dress clings to every inch of my skin.Wet, heavy and cold. The fabric sticks to my thighs, my stomach and my breasts. The silver collar presses tight around my neck. The hard metal rubbing my skin raw. If he was going to remove the chain why did he not just remove the collar with it?I can still taste the bitter water Nikolai poured over me. My chest rises and falls too fast. Shivers run through my body, not just from cold but also from fear, from hate and from everything that happened.I could not speak, I could not complain, I could not whine. Who is he to treat me like this?I see a man walk past us. He is tall, his dark hair cut sharp, he is putting on a black suit which fits him perfectly but anyone coming in here to see Nikolai can’t be good. As th

Her nipples show hard from the cold. Her waist is small, her legs are long and bare. Her skin looks soft everywhere.Perfect to mark. I speak in a calm voice.“Put it on yourself.”She shakes her head fast. Her lips part but no sound comes.I step closer. My hand moves quick.I grab her neck with strong fingers, I squeeze hard. Her face turns red, her hands fly up.She claws at my wrist, nails dig into my skin. Her small struggle makes my blood warm so I squeeze tighter making her

  • Crimson vows    9: The Whip and the Chain

Anya’s POVMy eyes open slowly. The world looks blurry at first, light from the window hurts my head. I blink many times, the blur goes away little by little. The room becomes clear. I see the silk bed under me. The bars on the window.I try to sit up but my arms do not move far. Something cold bites into my wrists. I look up and saw silver cuffs locking my hands to the headboard. One cuff on my left wrist, another on my right. The metal feels tight and hurts my skin. The gray dress I wore is gone. I am in the thin white nightgown again. Anya’s POVI sit on the edge of the bed in the gray dress. My boots remain on my feet. The laces feel tight around my ankles. I stay for the time to pass. The timer on the wall ticks with a strong beat in the silent room. The hands show two fifty-five. Then two fifty-six. Then two fifty-seven. My chest rises and falls quickly.
