The mansion was strangely quiet except for the soft buzz from the TV. It felt like a place of secrets for Lauren. Her eyes roamed all the corners of the room but, yet, she couldn't find anything that made the large room homely.

Lauren’s penthouse was a tomb of silence, the emerald pendant suddenly became heavy around her neck as she clutched her phone, Priya’s voice still echoing from their call. The Langston lawyer’s notification from earlier “Emergency meeting, 10 a.m., Langston & Associates” burned deeply in her mind, and Melissa’s taunt a lash across her soul. “Go to the old farmhouse,” pulsed like a heartbeat, a fragile hope amidst the wreckage of Tom’s coma, Alex’s pain, and her baby’s fragile kicks. She didn't need a soothsayer to tell her there was something important in that farmhouse. She immediately dialed Priya’s number, her hand shaking slighlty, her voice trembling but fierce. “Priya, I know where the proof is. The farmhouse—Mom said it’s where she found love. The evidence there, I feel it. It has to be there.”Priya’s voice crackled, thick with worry. “Lauren, are you about this? It could be a trap,” “The memory I had with my mum can't be a trap. I feel it, I can hear her telling me it's t
