Bianca gently opened her eyes. Then she frowned as she felt an arm around her waist. She looked down at the male forearm that held her tightly, and panic began to rise in her throat. "Merde (*Shit)," she muttered as she remembered the events of last night. Bianca lifted the blanket that kept her warm between two fingers and bit her lower lip. Bianca walked to the bedroom and picked up the Alpha's black shirt, which had been carelessly thrown on the floor the night before. She removed the towel wrapped around herself and put the shirt on. Then she took off the towel she was wearing on her head to let her hair dry in the open air. Black had watched her silently in the doorway that separated the bathroom from the bedroom. The two high priestesses entered the small cottage with unusually hesitant steps. Dhara continued to mutter more and more protective spells through her teeth. With each additional step she took, the witch realized that she was nearing the end of the list of magical barriers she knew. On the other hand, Darya had to hang on to her sister's arm. She was immensely grateful to Dhara. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the runes etched on her sister's skin glowing and taking on new places as she cast protective spells around them. Bianca seemed to tense up as she discovered how many people were there. Black had heard her mutter, "Why are there so many people? We're late...there should be fewer people." Bianca grabbed the bottom of Black's long-sleeved shirt with her fingertips, seeking reassurance, as she was unintentionally arousing the curiosity of those around. Besides, she was the reason why all these people were still here. Some had bet that the Mad One would not come to the common dining room, that he would stay true to his reputation of never mixing with others at festive events.
