Rya's POV

There was more to his request than met the eyes.

Things had changed with Frost ever since he woke up from his coma.

It had been easy back in the days to read through his expressions and thoughts. The bond between us always exposed his feelings to me, and did mine to him. I could feel his worries, his pain, his joy, his ecstasy, and so could he with me.

Yet lately, it has been an Herculean task. He had become so skilled in masking his thoughts and his feelings.

Right there, I had t

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 270: The Politics Of Peace

Rya's POVFor what would seem like a brief moment, I took over from Frost while he was away. It felt... good to be on the ruling affairs of the pack one more time. There was this sensation that travelled down my body, this... familiarity, this certain feeling. I just couldn't define it. It was bittersweet, mixed, almost as though I revisited the days when even the slightest thing robbed me of my peace.Even in his absence, I didn't want his vision of his summit to die. The premonition I had about him the previous night had even fueled me more to keep on with the planning. I was still in the study when a slight knock on the door pulled me away from my train of thoughts. I looked up, and behold, it was Sera. "Sera!" her name slipped from my lips in sheer surprise. It had been the longest time since I saw her. She looked so... different, so unlike her. Living in exile must have robbed her off the brightness and shine which she effortlessly exuded. She looked worn out, uncertain, iso

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 269: Buried Truths

Frost's POVA thousand options I had considered since I learnt that the barriers would fall. But only one really stuck, piercing, consistent. It was a radical one, but all rounds of my logical thinking had circled around it.I had learnt weeks ago that the barrier which kept the Void away for many centuries before the present time was raised by the collaborative act of the leaders of the various worlds. How did it skip past my thinking that the same method used then could have still been the same to leave a long lasting result on the world today? How did we substitute united hearts for just joint artifacts?I had the chance to make it right again. If only supernatural beings spent years in building unity rather than fighting against themselves, then they could face the Void's return as a united force rather than fragmented enemies. Or so I thought!Yet, in all of my travels to seek alliance with supernatural beings, their responses were... mixed, with most opposing the very thing I en

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 268: Fifty Years To Midnight

Rya's POV Life should have been perfect now. With all the wars fought and won, I finally should have lived in the very life I had prayed for endlessly—the kind that was a bed of roses, the kind where I awoke to fresh new days buttered with peace of mind and absolute serenity in the werewolf territory. Yet each new day only seemed like a bitter version of chaos. There were people... ardent disciples who still worshipped the Void even in its non-existence. Their hopes and faith had driven them mad, forced them to take up arms and swing into deadly actions which they believed could free the Void for the umpteenth time. They launched their attacks first on the werewolf territories. They were systematic, targeting those with weaker leadership and defenses. But I was willingly to put an end to such ruthless and fruitless massacre.I led the SilverFang forces against these cultists, intercepting the just before they could lay waste to another defenseless pack. I didn't have my Alpha au

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 267: Found Wanting

Frost's POV"Can you hear me, Rya?" I whispered through the mind link. The distance between us had caused some kind of strain to our communication. Still, I could hear her. "I'm in position," she answered in a whispering tone. "I can see them, all of them.""Ready when you're ready," I answered.I had my men positioned right behind me, awaiting Rya's signal. This act, this mission, was sensitive in a whole lot of ways. If there was even a slight misstep, or an act out of scheduled timing, then we could end up like the ones we had set out to trap—on our knees, pleading for mercy. And so I stood vigilant, with my eyes scanning through the landscape, on the best way to storm that meeting hall. There was complete silence from Rya. It was almost as though I had lost my connection with her. It was like that for almost half an hour, not until she let out a frustrating groan through the mindlink, the kind that jolted me from the ground. "Oh gods!" I heard her say, followed by a hiss and a

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 266: When The Truth Bled

Rya's POVI didn't know how, but I had that confidence that Oscar and Lia would find me all the information that I needed. It wasn't up to a full day since I mentioned my fears to Lia, and she had returned bearing what would seem like pleasant news. I had been in my study room all morning. WIth less tasks on my hands, and nothing really heavy to make my mind spiral in pondering thoughts, I bought my time with flipping through more pages of historical books judiciously. I was half way through the very book that interested me most when Lia stormed into the room. I could feel the urgency in her steps even though her face had masked it perfectly. I looked up at her, a bit startled, but mostly puzzled. "Come with me. There's something I want you to see," she said to me coldly. I had never seen her in such a demeanor... wearing such terrifying countenance. I could almost hear Oscar's voice through hers, but had washed the thoughts off my head when I sighted her figure and heard the light

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 265: The Woman Beyond The Crown

Rya's POVI had not been neglected after all. My pride was still secured—intact, well laced on my shoulders as though nothing had ever happened. I still received the respect... the honour, just as before, but not exactly as before. It had been a month since I was crowned as Luna of the SilverFang pack, and for one who had stepped down from a position with the greatest authority in the entire werewolf territory, another would expect that I bowed my head in shame, or think of where I found myself to be as a downgrade... a fall from grace. But I was most satisfied with where I was. I finally had the chance to just... breathe, to live, to have lightened shoulders, to sleep without rethinking the events of the past or the future, to sit without having the pressing needs of the people weigh my spirit down. But most of all, when I turned my eyes to the man who now wore the crown, I still felt like the victor. I was at peace, knowing fully well that they people deserved a good man like him,

  • Crowned In Vengeance   Chapter 123: Reconciliation

Rya's POV Our fingers were intertwined as we walked out of the dungeon, swinging happily as we were somewhat new to this feeling. He never said a word, and neither did I. But the short glances we gave ourselves at intervals spoke louder than what words could quantify.I noticed the way he threw hi

Rya's POV I'm not a stranger to fear. But this... this was very different. She knew the right answers to every quest
