Chapter 3

Author: Aurora
In no time at all, I was locked away in the Silver Moon pack’s dungeon.

But I didn't panic for a second. I grew up listening to my grandmother’s legends about this place.

Deep within the Silver Moon dungeon lies an ancient formation left by our ancestors to restrain high-profile criminals.

This seal can only be broken by someone with the purest Moon-Blessed bloodline.

Since my father and Maya never awakened that power, they had no idea it even existed.

That night, while the guards were dozing off, I crept toward the deepest part of the prison.

Sure enough, in the darkest corner, I found the stone altar engraved with ancient runes.

Without hesitation, I bit my finger and let my blood drip onto the center of the formation.

Instantly, the entire dungeon began to shake violently. The ancient imprisonment totems emitted a blinding light before shattering into pieces.

The earth-shaking commotion alerted the entire pack.

I heard frantic footsteps coming down the stairs as Marcus and Elena rushed into the dungeon.

Seeing the shattered remnants of the totems, their faces turned as white as paper.

"This... how is this possible?" Marcus’s voice trembled. "This formation has stood for centuries. No one has ever been able to break it!"

Elena looked even more terrified. "Lyra! What have you done? You’re a cursed wolf, bringing ruin to us all!"

"You destroyed our pack’s protective seal!" Marcus roared. "You’re a jinx!"

"As of today, I officially banish Lyra from the Silver Moon pack!" Marcus’s voice echoed through the dungeon. "You are no longer our daughter. You are a rogue!"

"Don't you dare set foot on our lands again!" Elena hissed. "You cursed wolf!"

I couldn't help but laugh. Banished? This was exactly what I wanted.

"Thanks for making that decision for me," I said with a cold smirk. "You saved me a lot of trouble."

I walked out of the dungeon and headed straight for the luxury villa Zander had prepared for me.

It was located in the heart of the Dark Moon pack’s territory, decorated with such opulence that it was ten times larger than my old room.

Lying on soft silk sheets and sipping premium red wine, I realized how blind I had been to ever love a fool like Kaden.

Four days later, the big day arrived. I put on the custom pure-white gown Zander had made for me and headed to the Alpha Altar.

This is a sacred ground where Alphas and Lunas complete their mating ceremonies and announce their union to Goddess Selene.

The more powerful the Alpha, the closer to the center they can perform the rite.

As I reached the outer perimeter, I saw the familiar faces. Kaden, Maya, and both sets of parents were there.

Because of the generations-long curse, the Moonstone Alpha bloodline has grown increasingly weak, forcing them to hold their ceremony in the outermost circle.

The moment Maya saw me, she leaned weakly into Kaden’s arms, acting like a frightened lamb.

"Lyra? How dare you show your face here?" Marcus demanded. "A rogue dares to desecrate the sacred Altar?"

"Are you here to crash the ceremony?" Elena shrieked. "Do you want to destroy the Moonstone pack and keep them cursed forever?"

At those words, Kaden’s face twisted into a mask of rage.

"Lyra! You just won't go away, will you?" he roared. "I told you to stop crawling after me! I will never love a low-rent she-wolf like you!"

I let out a sharp laugh. "Kaden, you really think highly of yourself. Who told you I was here for you? I'm here to get married—just not to you."

Everyone froze, then burst into mockery.

"Are you dreaming?" Maya sneered. "This is the Alpha-only circle!"

"Exactly. What Alpha would ever want a wolf like you?" Kaden added. "You're not pretty enough, and your personality is a nightmare."

Kaden continued his taunts. "Lyra, you're really desperate for my attention, aren't you? But I'm telling you, no matter how pathetic your lies get, I'm never looking back."

Just then, the moon began to rise. Silvery light spilled over the altar, and I noticed a faint, cloying sweetness beginning to radiate from Kaden. The curse was kicking in.

Grace was the first to notice the wrong scent in the air, her face turning pale with horror.

Then, her eyes landed on me. Under the moonlight, my body emitted a soft silver glow—the true mark of a Moon-Blessed bloodline.

The sheer pressure of my lineage made Grace tremble.

"Wait!" she said, her voice shaking as she stepped in front of me. "Lyra... if... if you really are Moon-Blessed, I'll let Kaden mark both of you! Just save him!"

I laughed. They were still delusional. To let him mark me and Maya at the same time? As if that were some grand gift.

But before I could speak, Kaden cut her off, his eyes full of the arrogance and stupidity of someone who thought he knew the future.

"Mom! Don't let this trash rogue trick you!" he barked. "She couldn't help me ascend if she tried. Maya is the one destined to rule the werewolf world by my side! Lyra, even if you got on your knees and licked my boots right now, I wouldn't give you a second look!"

As the words left his mouth, a deep, magnetic voice carrying absolute Alpha authority boomed from the center of the Altar.

"She’s my Luna. You aren't even worthy of looking at her."

"We... we understand," Robert said, his voice trembling. "We'll do exactly as you say."They retreated in a state of total despair, flanked by their guards. But Kaden, abandoned and still kneeling in the dirt, actually had a flicker of twisted, delusional hope in his eyes."Lyra..." he croaked, his voice raspy. "If I actually do it... if I truly repent... will you forgive me?"I looked down at him with icy indifference and didn't offer a single word. Forgiveness? He didn't deserve to even speak the word. The next morning, under the watchful, disgusted eyes of the entire pack, Robert and Grace arrived at the grave of the female leader who had died a century ago. They forcibly dragged the slender, disheveled Kaden with them. He was shoved down onto the stone monument to begin his long, undignified penance.According to my instructions, he had to remain kneeling there without rest until the arrogance in the depths of his soul completely vanished."I repent! I repent for my crimes!" Kad

Kaden’s lips trembled, his eyes filling with pure terror."No... that's impossible..." he stammered. "How could you remember?"I walked down the steps, my expression cold."Want to hear how you killed me in the last life?" I asked calmly. "In that heavy rain, you tore my throat out with your own hands. You watched with total disgust as my body corroded in the silver pool. You said my death was a relief for the world."Kaden began to shake violently with every word."You didn't even leave me a whole corpse," I continued. "You let me disappear bit by bit until I was just a pile of rot."Kaden lost all will to fight. He let out a manic, hollow laugh. "No wonder... no wonder you looked at me like I was a dead man from the start. No wonder you ran to him." He pointed at Zander with hatred and despair. "I knew it. You wouldn't just stop loving me... you knew everything."Zander, hearing the truth of my past death, lost control of his aura. The air around him crackled with violence. He looked

I didn't wake up until nearly noon the next day on the massive bed covered in expensive furs. The ache in my body was a constant reminder of how possessive and wild Zander had been last night. He had nearly melted me into his arms.Zander was already up and had prepared lunch himself. He cut the warm food into small pieces, feeding me bite by bite."Still sore?" he asked gently, rubbing my hip."A little," I admitted, blushing."I’m sorry. I lost control last night." He kissed my forehead. We were enjoying the quiet until a grim-faced guard entered. "King, Robert and Grace from the Moonstone pack—along with that... creature—have been kneeling on the stone steps all night. They’re begging for one last word with the Queen."I let out a cold laugh. "All night? They’re persistent, I'll give them that."Zander frowned. "Want me to throw them out?""No," I shook my head. "I want to see what they look like now."I put on a long dress and walked out with Zander. Kaden was a disaster. His onc

Marcus and Elena turned toward me, their snobbish, hateful expressions instantly replaced by looks of agonizing grief. They didn't even care about the mess on the ground as they stumbled toward me. Elena forced out a few tears, reaching for my hand."Lyra, my baby girl!" she wailed. "I was blinded by Maya's lies. I didn't mean to misunderstand my favorite daughter!""I was wrong, so wrong!" Elena’s voice trembled. "You have to forgive me!"Marcus chimed in, shamelessly adding, "Lyra, my heart bled when I had to slap you!""It was all an act for the public! I had to do it to protect you from the Moonstone pack's rage!" He spoke with a sickening display of affection and feigned helplessness. "I did it for you! You have to understand a father's sacrifice!"Watching their performance, I felt nothing. It was almost funny. In my past life, I might have believed them, but now it just made me sick. I quietly stepped back to avoid Elena’s touch and gave them a cold reminder."Three days ago,

"We’ll give you everything! All the wealth and power of the Moonstone pack is yours!" Grace added frantically.Listening to them, I couldn't help but laugh. Now they know how to beg? Now they realize my worth? What did they treat me like in my past life? And what exactly do they think can buy my forgiveness now?Kaden had completely lost his mind. He stared at his own distorted body, smelling the cloying scent radiating from his skin—a scent that brought him nothing but utter humiliation. His pride was in tatters. He began to crawl toward me through the dirt."Lyra... Lyra..." His voice was shrill and trembling, a far cry from the arrogant Alpha he used to be. "Please... save me..."He reached out a shaking hand, trying to grab the hem of my gown."Just give me one more chance... if you save me, I promise I'll only love you in this life..." he stammered over and over, his eyes full of desperate entreaty. "I swear, from now on, it's only you. Maya means nothing... please..."Before

As the words settled in, Robert and Grace turned deathly pale. They finally understood why Kaden’s curse had mutated so violently. It wasn't that Maya lacked the power; she was the poison itself."You lying bitch!" Robert roared, lunging at Maya. "You ruined my son!"Maya collapsed, paralyzed by fear and unable to even attempt an escape. "I... I didn't know! I swear I didn't know it would do this!" she wailed.Kaden gasped as the backlash from the dark magic ripped through his body. His muscles continued to wither, and his bones emitted sickening cracks as they reshaped. Even worse than the physical pain was the way his own people were looking at him—gone was the respect, replaced by lecherous, predatory glares. Every subordinate who once bowed to him now looked like they wanted to hunt him.He snapped."It’s you!" He spun toward Maya, his eyes burning with manic hatred. "This is all your fault!"There was no love left in his eyes, only madness as he rained punches down on Maya’s f
