Chapter 3: The Child's Name Was Chosen Quite Casually

Upon seeing that her words had no effect, Yvonne Harrington reached out and tapped Joanne Harrington on the head.

"Ow!"

Joanne Harrington turned around irritably, his almond-shaped eyes narrowing as he glared at Yvonne Harrington.

"We're here. Remember to take all your belongings," the driver kindly reminded them.

The retort Yvonne Harrington was about to throw at Joanne Harrington got stuck in her throat. Seeing that they had arrived, she decided not to argue with him. She shot him a look, but Joanne Harrington met her gaze with the same audacity.

Millennium Hotel.

The opulent atmosphere that greeted them was invigorating, and the two little ones were instantly excited.

However, Yvonne Harrington could only feel the pinch in her wallet.

This hotel, known as the most luxurious five-star establishment in A City, charged at least four digits for a single night. Before returning to China, Yvonne Harrington had saved every penny to give her children a good start. She gritted her teeth and booked a suite at a hefty price.

At the front desk, Yvonne Harrington wrote down three names.

"Is that so?"

The receptionist found it odd, thinking the names of the children were rather casual.

Yvonne Harrington smiled without explanation and led the children away with the concierge.

Along the way, the two children looked around curiously.

When they reached the 22nd floor and pushed open the door to their suite, Yvonne Harrington finally understood what luxury and class meant.

"Joanne, look at the beautiful view outside!"

Jodie Harrington ran straight to the floor-to-ceiling window, while Joanne Harrington entered more calmly, though his eyes still betrayed his excitement.

Seeing the joy in her children's faces, Yvonne Harrington knew the money was well spent.

For a moment, she was lost in memories.

Four years ago, this place was all too familiar to her. Now, the city was even more prosperous, and the homesickness she felt upon returning had vanished.

She had missed this place every day during her time abroad, perhaps because of the deep attachment to her mother, who had passed away here.

Life abroad wasn't particularly hard, but after a one-night stand, she soon found out she was pregnant. After much deliberation, she decided to keep the child.

"Joanne! This bed is so soft and big! I want to sleep with you tonight!"

"Are you a three-year-old? Wanting to sleep together!"

Yvonne Harrington hugged Joanne Harrington, pressing his face into her palm, her eyes feigning hurt and her voice sad.

"How old are you?"

"Four years old!"

"Four years old and already grown up? Don't want to sleep with Mom anymore? How sad..."

Yvonne Harrington blinked, trying to squeeze out a few tears.

Seeing this, Joanne Harrington had no choice but to relent.

"Okay, I was just kidding!"

Yvonne Harrington's face brightened, and she got up to unpack, with Jodie Harrington helping.

Soon, they were done and headed to the restaurant with empty stomachs.

The open-air restaurant was on the top floor of the hotel.

As they walked through the corridor adorned with murals and pushed open the door, the fully transparent restaurant suspended in mid-air seemed like a fairyland, enclosed by glass on all sides, both unique and beautiful.

Above them was a clear blue sky, with clouds floating within reach.

There weren't many people there for lunch; it was usually busier in the evening.

Jodie Harrington happily ran to the edge and sat down, and Yvonne Harrington followed. The waiter brought over the menu.

"Two children's meals, one filet mignon, and one pasta."

After ordering, Yvonne Harrington turned to chat with the children.

"OMG!"

Someone suddenly exclaimed and quickly approached Yvonne Harrington's table.

"Are these two children yours?"

He pointed at the two adorable kids.

"Yes."

"I'm a talent scout from Starlight Entertainment. These two would be perfect as child stars, they'd definitely be a hit!"

He tried to hand Yvonne Harrington his business card, but she waved it away.

"I don't need it, sorry!"

Yvonne Harrington frowned. First at the airport, and now a talent scout. It seemed her children were really popular.

The scout, misunderstanding her refusal, thought she was playing hard to get.

"Take it, think about it. Our company is one of the best in A City, and we recently added the fresh-faced star, Sherry Harrington. If you join us, we guarantee good returns!"

"Sherry Harrington?"

Yvonne Harrington repeated the name.

"Don't you know her?"

"No, I don't!"

Yvonne Harrington shuddered and shook her head, but inwardly scoffed.

After all these years, Sherry Harrington had gone far in her acting career.

Yvonne Harrington would never forget how Sherry Harrington had played her, showing one face to the world and another behind closed doors.

Recalling the past, she felt a bit of anger towards the scout, and her tone became harsher.

"Starlight Entertainment, right?" She looked at the bald man and said, "Forget it, my children will never work for your company!"

"What a nutcase!"

The scout muttered, looking at her serious and determined face.

So many people would kill for this opportunity, and she was treating it like it was nothing. Who needed her anyway!
