Chapter 5 Just to Disgust You

Sherry Harrington revealed a smile that showed she was confident of her success.

She understood men, especially those she deemed necessary to win over.

No one would turn down a beauty who came knocking. For the sake of gaining Arvin Douglas's 'appreciation,' she had been planning for a long time, and now, her perfect plan was just one step away from completion.

Entering the building, the receptionist respectfully nodded at her, but she ignored it, stepping into the elevator with absolute elegance. When she emerged on the 24th floor, she put away her ugly facade and replaced it with a charming, alluring smile.

Taking a deep breath, she raised her delicate fingers and knocked on the door of the CEO's office.

"Hmm."

The person inside grunted, and Sherry Harrington pushed the door open and entered.

"President, I sent you an invitation to the Qiao family banquet today, but you haven't replied yet. Could you grace us with your presence?"

Sherry Harrington squeezed her voice, making it as soft and sweet as dripping honey.

In the vast space, there was no immediate response.

In the clean and efficient office, Arvin Douglas continued typing without lifting his head, his imposing aura somewhat softened by the gold-rimmed glasses perched on his nose, making him appear more approachable.

Even so, the coldness emanating from him still made her heart tighten.

Sherry Harrington looked at the man uneasily.

"President?"

Arvin Douglas frowned slightly, glancing up. As their eyes met, Sherry Harrington's gaze immediately turned into a heart shape.

These eight words were not too much to describe Arvin Douglas. His stern demeanor, combined with an otherworldly charm, and the faint air of mischief about him, made it impossible to guess what he truly meant behind his smiles.

The call was abruptly cut off.

Yvonne Harrington held the phone, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Ashes...

Remembering how her mother had been driven mad and eventually jumped to her death, Yvonne Harrington felt as if a knife had been plunged into her heart.
