Elera’s POV

“Yes, Daddy…” I moaned, my voice breaking as waves of pleasure crashed through me. “Ahhh… yess, right here..”

Alexander’s hand slid up my body, squeezing my breast softly, his thumb teasing my sensitive nipple. A soft, needy moan escaped my lips. “Uh…”

His mouth was pure heaven on my clit hot, wet, and relentless. I couldn’t help myself. I tangled my fingers tighter in his thick hair and pulled his head deeper between my thighs, grinding against his tongue like I was losing my mind. My moans grew louder, shameless, echoing off the walls of the bedroom.

“Shhh, little girl,” he growled against my dripping pussy, the vibration making my toes curl. “You have to be quiet for Daddy.”

But I didn’t want to be quiet. I wanted him. All of him. Right now. My body was so close, trembling on the edge as he sucked and licked me exactly how I needed…

The sound of the front door opening barely reached my foggy brain.

Then..

Thud.

A bag hitting the floor. Hard.

“Alexander!!”

Mom’s scream ripped through the house like thunder.

Chapter 1:

The New Daddy

I stepped out of the sleek black SUV, and the sprawling mansion rose before me like a modern palace carved from glass and stone. Towering columns, perfectly manicured gardens that stretched into the night, and lights that made the entire estate glow like something from a dream. Or a nightmare. This was my mother’s new world. And now, mine too.

“Elara, sweetheart! You’re finally here!” Mom’s voice floated down the wide stone steps. She hurried toward me in a flowing champagne dress that screamed money, her arms open wide. Lydia Voss or soon to be. The wedding was tomorrow.

I let her pull me into a tight hug, inhaling her signature expensive perfume. “Mom, you look incredible. Like… Hollywood incredible.”

She laughed, pulling back to cup my face. “And you look exhausted from all that studying. College will still be there after the honeymoon. Come on, you have to meet him.”

My stomach knotted instantly. Him. Alexander Voss. The billionaire who had swept my mother off her feet in record time. Forty-two. Ruthless in business. Devastating in photos. But this wasn’t a photo.

The foyer took my breath away soaring ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and dark marble that clicked under my heels. Soft voices drifted from the formal living room ahead. One voice stood out: deep, commanding, used to being obeyed.

“Alexander, darling,” Mom called brightly. “Come meet my beautiful daughter.”

He turned from the floor to ceiling windows, whiskey glass in hand, and the world narrowed to just him.

Holy hell.

Tall, broad shouldered, with a presence that filled the entire room. His black shirt was tailored perfectly, sleeves rolled up to show powerful forearms. Silver threaded through his dark hair at the temples, and those stormy gray eyes locked onto mine with unnerving intensity.

“Elara,” he said, voice like velvet over steel. He set his glass down and crossed the room in long strides. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

I forced a polite smile, tilting my head up. “Nice to finally meet you… Mr. Voss.”

A faint smirk touched his lips. “Alexander. Though after tomorrow” He glanced at my beaming mother. “I think ‘Daddy’ would be more appropriate. We’re going to be family, after all.”

The word landed like a spark. Heat rushed to my cheeks.

Mom clapped her hands. “Isn’t that lovely? He insisted it would help us bond as a real family.”

I swallowed. “Right. Daddy.” The word felt strange intimate on my tongue. His eyes darkened noticeably. “It’s… nice to meet you, Daddy.”

His large hand engulfed mine in a handshake. Firm. Warm. His thumb brushed across my knuckles in a slow, deliberate stroke before he released me. The brief contact sent electricity racing up my arm.

“You’re even lovelier than your mother described,” he murmured, gaze sweeping over me. “Twenty years old and already so poised. Impressive.”

Mom waved it off with a proud laugh. “She takes after me. Let’s eat! The chef prepared all your favorites, Elara.”

Dinner felt like walking a tightrope over fire.

The long dining table gleamed under soft lighting. Mom dominated the conversation wedding details, celebrity guests, their upcoming honeymoon in the Maldives. Alexander nodded at the right moments, but his attention kept returning to me.

“Elara,” he said suddenly, cutting into his steak with precise control. “What are you studying at university?”

“Business and creative writing,” I replied, meeting his eyes. “I want to build something of my own one day. Maybe write stories that actually matter.”

He raised an eyebrow, a slow, dangerous smile forming. “Ambitious. I respect that. The world needs more young women who know exactly what they want.” His voice lowered just enough to feel private. “Tell me, little one… what do you want?”

The question hung heavy. Mom was distracted, replying to a text from her wedding planner.

I licked my lips nervously. “Right now? To get through tomorrow without embarrassing myself in front of all those important people.”

He chuckled, low and rich. The sound did unwelcome things to my body. “You’ll do far more than that. You’ll outshine every woman there. And if anyone bothers you…” His gray eyes held mine hostage. “You come straight to me. Understood?”

“Yes, Daddy.”

The word slipped out softer this time. His jaw flexed. He took a slow sip of wine, watching me over the rim like I was a puzzle he intended to solve.

After dinner, Mom kissed my cheek and vanished upstairs with the planner for final checks. Alexander and I were left alone in the dimly lit hallway near the grand staircase.

“I’ll walk you to your room,” he said. It wasn’t a suggestion.

The silence between us felt charged as we climbed the stairs. His presence behind me was overwhelming.

“You don’t approve of me, do you?” he asked quietly.

I glanced back. “I don’t know you yet. Mom has a tendency to fall fast.”

“Fair enough.” He stopped outside a beautiful oak door and turned to face me fully. Up close, he smelled like sandalwood, whiskey, and pure masculine power. “But you will know me, Elara. Very well. We’re family now.”

He reached past me to open the door, his arm grazing mine. I stepped inside quickly. The room was stunning a huge bed, elegant furnishings, and a private balcony overlooking the illuminated pool.

Alexander lingered in the doorway, his gaze tracing over me. “If you need anything tonight… anything… my room is at the end of the hall.”

“Thank you,” I whispered.

He didn’t move right away. His eyes dropped to my lips for a heated second before returning to mine. “Sleep well, little girl.”

The door closed with a soft click.

I collapsed onto the bed, heart pounding. This was insane. Tomorrow he would be my stepfather. Completely, utterly off limits.

Yet hours later, sleep refused to come. Thirsty and restless, I slipped downstairs in my short silk nightdress toward the kitchen.

The lights were dim. I thought I was alone until I heard movement.

Alexander stood by the marble island wearing only black sweatpants, his sculpted chest and abs on full display. A glass of whiskey dangled from his fingers.

He turned. Our eyes collided.

“Couldn’t sleep?” His voice was rough, lower than before.

I shook my head, painfully aware of how little fabric covered my thighs. “You neither?”

He set the glass down slowly and took a step forward. Then another.

“Elara…”

The way he growled my name made my pulse race. I should have turned around. I should have run back upstairs.

Instead, the word escaped in a breathless whisper:

“Yes… Daddy?”

His eyes flared with raw, undisguised hunger. He closed the distance between us in two powerful strides.

Shadows Between WordsThe library door swung open, and I yanked my hand out of Alexander’s like it was on fire. My heart shot into my throat as one of the night staff a middle aged man named Thomas stepped inside carrying a small tray.“Apologies, sir,” Thomas said, blinking at the dim lighting. “I saw the lamps still on and thought you might want a fresh pot of herbal tea before bed. Mrs. Voss mentioned you sometimes”“It’s fine, Thomas,” Alexander cut in smoothly, already standing. His voice held that natural authority that made people listen. “We were just finishing up. Leave it on the side table.”Thomas nodded, set the tray down, and glanced curiously at me before backing out. “Goodnight, sir. Miss Elara.”The door clicked shut again. I let out a long, shaky breath and pressed my palms to my burning cheeks.“That was too close,” I whispered. “If it had been Mom…”Alexander stayed standing, running a hand through his hair. “But it wasn’t. Sit back down, Elara. We’re not done.”I s

I stared at Alexander’s last message until the screen went dark. Door’s unlocked. The words burned behind my eyelids. I tossed my phone onto the nightstand and pulled the covers over my head, but sleep was impossible. Every creak in the old mansion made me wonder if it was him in the hallway. Every heartbeat reminded me how close we’d come in the library. After twenty restless minutes, I slipped out of bed, threw on a light robe over my silk nightdress, and padded downstairs barefoot. The house felt different at night bigger, more dangerous. I headed to the library, telling myself it was just to read, to distract my racing mind. Not because I hoped he’d find me there. The door was already ajar, a soft golden glow spilling into the hallway.I pushed it open slowly. Alexander stood by the tall windows, a glass of whiskey in his hand, staring out at the dark gardens. He’d changed into a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. The casual look made him seem more human. And somehow more intimida

Echoes in the LibraryDinner that evening felt like walking through a minefield of polite smiles and hidden landmines. Mom had returned from her spa day glowing, full of stories about her friends’ jealous reactions to her new life. I sat between them at the long table, pushing pasta around my plate while trying not to notice how Alexander’s gaze kept finding me.“So tell me, Elara,” Mom said, twirling her wine glass, “what do you think of the house so far? Alexander gave you the grand tour, right?”I nodded, keeping my eyes on my food. “It’s incredible. The library especially. I could get lost in there for days.”Alexander’s low voice cut in smoothly. “She seemed to like it. Spent quite a bit of time at the piano too.” He took a sip of wine, his expression unreadable. “You play, Elara?”“Not really,” I lied, remembering how close we’d sat on that bench. “Just curious.”Mom clapped her hands. “You two bonding already makes me so happy. Alexander, you should take her shopping tomorrow.

Breakfast and BoundariesSunlight poured through the tall windows of the dining room the next morning, making everything look deceptively peaceful. I’d barely slept, tossing and turning with Alexander’s texts burning a hole in my phone. I’d saved the number. I hated myself for it.Mom was already at the table, looking blissfully happy in a silk robe, sipping coffee. Alexander sat at the head like he owned the world which he did. Freshly showered, in a charcoal shirt with the sleeves rolled up, reading something on his tablet.“Good morning, sleepyhead!” Mom said brightly when I walked in. “Come sit. Maria made French toast just the way you like it.”I forced a smile and took the seat across from Alexander, not beside him. “Morning, Mom. You look… rested.”She laughed, reaching over to squeeze my hand. “Best sleep I’ve had in years. Right, darling?”Alexander looked up, his gray eyes finding mine immediately. “Absolutely. Though I think the jet lag from yesterday is still hitting some

The heavy door clicked shut behind me, sealing us inside Alexander’s office. The room smelled like him sandalwood, aged whiskey, and polished leather. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lined one wall, while a massive mahogany desk dominated the center. Moonlight filtered through the tall windows, casting long shadows across the floor. I rubbed my arms, suddenly cold despite the warmth of the room. “This is a bad idea. Mom could come looking for us any minute.” Alexander leaned against the desk, arms crossed over his chest. His bow tie was gone, the top buttons of his white shirt undone. He looked dangerously relaxed for a man who had just married my mother hours ago. “She’s exhausted and already upstairs changing,” he said calmly. “The staff is handling the last guests. We have time.” His gray eyes pinned me in place. “You ran from the reception like you were being chased. Talk to me, Elara. No more polite smiles and careful words.” I let out a shaky breath and paced a few steps. “What

Vows and Velvet LiesThe garden had transformed into a fairytale of white roses and golden chairs. Soft music floated through the air as guests in designer outfits took their seats. I stood at the edge of the aisle in my emerald bridesmaid dress, bouquet trembling slightly in my hands. Everything looked perfect. Everything felt like a lie.Mom walked down the aisle like a queen, glowing with happiness. Alexander waited at the altar, tall and devastating in his black tuxedo, his gray eyes locked on her. But when I followed behind as her only bridesmaid, those same eyes shifted to me. Just for a heartbeat. It was enough to make my steps falter. The officiant began the ceremony. I stood to the side, watching my mother promise forever to the man who had pinned me with hungry stares less than an hour ago.“Do you, Alexander Voss, take Lydia to be your wife?” the officiant asked.Alexander’s voice was steady and deep. “I do.” But his gaze flicked to me again as he said it.
