CHAPTER 7

"What the heck mum!"

"I said no you are not going anywhere, I won't ever let you be an Idol okay no matter what, I won't allow it so you better get ready and go to school if you dare go there without my permission I won't take it likely with you" she screamed.

"Mum please I really need to go, you know these have been my dream? Mum for once you should be happy I am gonna be serious with my studies now you don't expect me to have seen my dream and still leave it cause my mum doesn't want me to be an Idol"

It's what I want and you are going to listen to me Lalisa, I gave birth to you!

"Mum, you seem to have forgotten what I am capable of. You think telling this will make me stop myself from achieving my dream. Never it won't. I will go mum and you are not going to stop my bad. I can't live the life you want me to live.

I left her standing there and went to my room and locked myself up. She just ruined my mood. In fact I am not going to school today. I won't leave my room till she goes to work.

I have always wanted her to tell me the reason why she doesn't want me to be an Idol but she is just kept on giving me one excuse to another saying it life threatening and stuff like that, it's my life why does she wanna interfere with it I will do what I like no matter what she thinks.

Not long after I heard the front door closing, she must have left now I am going to be free.

Wait, I need to rehearse mey dance steps. I am not scared because I know I am going to win this.

__STARLIGHT HIGH SCHOOL___

Getting down from the cab I went straight to the security I have been here three to four times so I am not surprised by the building, the building is magnificent though but that's not my probs right now what is on my mind is the showcase talent I am getting nervous right now I wasn't nervous when I was at home why now?

The security let me in after speaking with someone, getting inside I saw Mary waiting a few blocks from me. She was sitting on a chair with her head resting on the wall, her both hands folded together with her headset on, closing her eyes. Wow, she is so beautiful. I went to her still staring at her seem she noticed someone looking at her and she opened her eyes. Wow, why didn't I notice her blue eyeballs looking at me, then she smiled. This girl is beautiful.

" I like you"

What? I asked if this is the second time she is saying this. I hope it isn't what I am thinking.

"I said I like you" she repeated again.

"I am straight" I stated firmly with a grim face

And she laughed. Wait, did she just laugh? But her laugh is cool. Students passing by were staring weirdly at us,They were staring with surprise, confused and shocked faces.

"Why are they staring at us that way?" I asked Mary.

" I don't laugh with anyone except from my cousin" she said

Why? I asked surprised

"There is not much time Lis do you wanna miss it" she said standing up I just noticed her uniform is different from the rest of the students I wonder who she is?

Lis?

"Yeah I prefer calling you Lis" she said walking

I quickly tried to meet her pace. This time she was quiet. I don't think she is the type that talks much, so to not embarrass myself I kept shut and walked with her to our destination.

After a few seconds we got to where we were going. I started feeling nervous again.

She opened the door and we went in. I saw a lot of teens just like me. I was kind of surprised.

"Every two years they bring the total of thirty teens who love music to show their talent and grant them scholarship they are gonna pick just five" Mary explained to me

"What!

"Don't scream, talking too much has made me want to have a headache . If you scream now it is going to be extreme and besides I trust you are going to be among the five lucky ones" she said. Rich kids have a lot of problems.

"I am nervous" I said truthfully

"Don't be I know you can do it" she stated as if she had seen me dance.

"You said it as if you have seen me dance" I told her

"You can't say though I might have done so" she said

"I am kind of confused…." But was cut of by the announcement.

"All Participants should gather round to listen to how it's going to be done" We all gathered round with numbers given to us, we were asked to place it on our chest.

A lady came to us to explain everything to us.

"The audition is gonna be divided into three stages"

The first stage is that you are going to sing and we will be the one to choose.

The second stage is dancing to any music played by us

The third stage will be both singing and dancing. You will be the one to choose that yourself.

A lot of murmurings and grumblings were heard.

Enough!!!

If you can't accept leave we won't tolerate any insolence from you guys!! A lady screamed and everywhere became silent once again.

It will be starting in 5 minutes so get yourself ready.

"This is it Lis, I hope you make me proud." Mary said and left

__AN HOUR LATER_

It has been going on for some time now. Some students came out happily, some grinning while some are crying.

My number is twenty six. I have been rehearsing the songs I know. I really hope I don't get cut off from the beginning.

"Next , Twenty six Kim Lalisa you can go in now" immediately I heard my name. My nervousness started again.

"God I promise I am gonna be close to you if i pass this audition" I kept mumbling following the direction I have been seeing the participants passing through.

I breathe in and out before opening the door and going in, walking in every single place was very quiet like the only sound I can hear is the echo of my shoes and also my breath. I have never been this nervous in my life. Then I saw four different faces staring back at me. They must be the judges.

"Welcome to Starlight high school though you haven't become a student but you can be among the lucky winner if you do your best you have five minutes to take a great step of your life Good luck" she said in one breath

"Thank you ma"

"The song which you are gonna sing is Believe by Younha. Good luck

Thank God it's the song I love the most.

I breathed in and out then I took the microphone.

When I was done with the song everywhere was silent.

Okay I am getting scared no one is talking, maybe I over hyped myself, I felt something from on my hands and I noticed it was my tears.

Wow!! Magnificent fantabulous! marvelous!

"I can't believe this voice belongs to a human, like it was as if an angel was the one singing."

"Congratulations , you can move to the next level." One of the judges said

"Excuse me, you can't just allow her to go to the next level without my permission," Another judge asked.

Hannah she did well so I didn't expect any of you to reject her" The first judge replied back

"Yeah we think so too" the remaining judges said simultaneously.

"Alright I just want everything to go fairly without any cheating" The judge known as Hannah replied.

"Miss Kim you can move to the level so you can go wait outside to be called again" The first judge said again.

I thanked them before leaving but the judge named Hannah didn't show a happy face but you know it's none of your business. I left happily waiting for the next one.

Few minutes later we heard the public address again.

"Congratulations to you guys who pass the first round now we have eighteen participant remaining so we are gonna start the second round immediately"

Again I was called to come for the second round.

Getting inside the judge's name Hannah was the one who chose the song I am going to dance, gosh I didn't even know her much but I already hated her.

"Miss Kim you are gonna dance to Hard carry by Got7" she said smirking

"Okay ma" I said then she stare at me as if I have gone mad, o yeah when I said I love dancing you should know any new song which is out I make sure I learn the choreography if I like the song I don't like Got7 that much but I love the song so you won't expect not to be able to dance.

"You have five minutes to miss so start now and don't waste our time" she said again.

I danced to it smoothly.
