“Morning.”
My stepdad walked into the dining room carrying a leather jacket on his right arm. He looked very fresh and masculine in a pair of jeans and a white polo shirt. His copper hair was a little messy and damp, but somehow he managed to look that attractive even though he probably just ran his fingers through it.
My mother was very lucky to get a handsome and rich young man like Raviel Marshal. After failing twice in her marriage, and even being robbed by her second husband until my mother went bankrupt, this time my mother managed to get a husband who really spoiled her. Raviel not only fulfilled my mother’s material needs, but he also fulfilled my mother’s biological needs. And my mother had never complained about her bed life with Raviel. Very different from her previous husbands, my mother used to complain every morning because her husbands were rough in bed.
“Claire. Claire Osborn!”
I gasped in surprise. My mother and Raviel looked at me with two different types of gazes. My mother was obviously upset because she only called me by my full name when she was upset. As for Raviel, he threw me a flat, rather indifferent gaze.
“Sorry. Did I miss something?”
“How many times have I told you not to daydream at the dining table? What are you thinking about, huh?”
“Umm… I was thinking about how amazing our trip to Hawaii was today. I can’t wait to sunbathe on the beach,” I cringed awkwardly.
There was no way I was going to tell my mom that I was thinking about her bed life with Raviel, right?
Ughh… My mom would be furious if she knew what was on my mind and would immediately spank me hard, just like she used to do when I was naughty or when I accidentally broke her antique vase.
“Raviel asked you if all your stuff is ready?”
“Yup. Everything I need is in that pink suitcase.”
“Then Glen will put our suitcases in the car now. We’re leaving for the airport in half an hour.”
“Honey, have some breakfast first. I’ve prepared your favorite pancakes and black coffee.”
“I’ll just have some coffee since we have lounge facilities at the airport.”
“But I’ve prepared this many pancakes for you.”
“Let Glen take care of it.”
I put a piece of pancake in my mouth while watching Raviel kiss my mother’s lips so that she wouldn’t get mad at him. He was a great kisser. I wondered how his lips tasted that he could make my mother look like a wax statue that would melt in his arms at any moment. Raviel’s lips moved greedily on my mother’s, and he had just slipped his tongue into her mouth.
I gasped in surprise when Raviel suddenly turned his head towards me. He grinned between kisses, and I quickly looked down to pretend to eat the pancake. My heart was pounding so hard in my ribcage. It was fucking hot. My cheeks flushed, a mixture of embarrassment from being caught staring at them kissing and the sudden arousal that spread throughout my body. I was damned to want to taste my own stepdad’s kiss.
“I’ll wait in the car.”
I kept my head down, pretending to be cutting my pancakes. The corner of my eye watched Raviel's movements as he sipped his coffee and my mother, who always stood beside him like a lovely wife. I saw Raviel about to walk out of the kitchen, but I didn't expect Raviel to stop next to me and pat my shoulder gently.
“Finish your pancakes quickly, Claire. I don’t want us to be late.”
When I looked up, Raviel gave me a sexy wink. He left me gaping like an idiot. I guess I just made the wrong decision by going with them to Hawaii for their first anniversary. I should have stayed home and cleared my mind of the images of my hot stepdad.

Wow. I have no idea how much Raviel spent on this trip to Hawaii. He must have spent a lot of money on three first-class tickets to Hawaii. Sometimes, I found it hard to believe he was just an internet café owner. That luxurious mansion, the high-end cars in the garage, the money my mother spent every day, and this lavish vacation—did an internet café owner really make that much money?
I couldn't help but be awestruck when airport staff escorted us to an incredibly luxurious lounge. The interior featured classic gold accents, and the air was filled with a delightful fragrance. I didn't know what kind of air freshener they used, but the scent was so captivating I wanted to keep breathing it in. There were very few people in the lounge, and they seemed completely indifferent to our presence.
My mother headed straight for a room marked "Massage Room." She had no intention of bringing me along, as she felt my presence would spoil her enjoyment. In fact, I wouldn't have been in that lounge at all if not for Raviel. He had insisted I come to Hawaii, so we could celebrate their anniversary together as a family. Yes, I knew my mother would have preferred to celebrate with just Raviel, but she couldn't do anything about it since he was the one footing the bill for the trip.
“You can take whatever you like from the buffet or you can order something from the waiter.”
“Yeah, but I’m full. I shouldn’t have had breakfast at home.”
“Is this your first time?”
I nodded slowly.
“I know it’s sad, but I’ve never been out of LA in my twenty years of life. I always stayed home when my mom went on vacation with her husband.”
“I hope this trip doesn’t disappoint you.”
“Disappoint me? You must be kidding. This trip is amazing. Even for me, a first-time flyer. Thank you so much, Rave. It means a lot to me, really.”
“That’s great to hear. If you don’t want to eat, you can try their wine or champagne. Feel free to order. It’s all free.”
I smiled widely. Raviel was very kind to me. He was the only husband of my mother who treated me like family, instead of a burden.
A week after marrying my mother, Raviel gave me a brand new, shiny Mini Cooper that left me speechless. He said he saw me get off a crowded bus, and he couldn’t bear to see me squeezed in there. He also bought me a new phone and laptop for college. He paid off my tuition fees from the first semester, and he gave me more than enough money to buy my college books until I graduated. He was a generous stepdad. He was the best in my eyes.
“Do you want to go to the massage room too?”
“No. I don’t like massages.”
“Why?”
“I just don’t like it. But your mother really likes it. She always goes to the salon to get a massage twice a week.”
“Yeah, I know. Sometimes she looks exhausted in the morning.”
“Tired? Do you know what might make her tired?”
After weeks of always coming home late, Raviel suddenly came home early. He walked into the house before five in the afternoon. It was incredible. He usually came home at ten and always skipped dinner with us.“You’re home.”Raviel walked into Aiden’s bedroom. He kissed the top of Aiden’s head before kissing me on the lips.“I’m taking you and Aiden somewhere.”“Dinner out?”“Not exactly.”“So, where are you taking us tonight?” I narrowed my eyes suspiciously.“You’ll find out later. I’ll take Aiden downstairs, and you go get ready.”Aiden cheered happily when he saw his father come home early. Our little boy hadn’t spent much time with Raviel because he was busy at his various offices. Raviel said he had to finish all his work before our wedding next month. He planned to take us on a two-week vacation to a resort in Florida. I was really excited about the vacation because the last time I went on vacation was when we went to the Maldives, and I barely enjoyed it at all.“How am I supp
"Bye, Daddy."I waved Aiden's plump hand in the air, waving at Raviel's car as it slowly pulled away.Raviel kept his promise to take me to Chiara's house, even though he was a bit reluctant to do so.I didn’t know what made him act like that. He knew for sure I wouldn't meet Anthonio at his mother's house. Anthonio moved to Washington a week after our wedding was annulled. He accepted an offer to work in federal court while he was working on his late father's files. Anthonio didn't tell me until the day after our wedding was annulled. He said he initially wanted to turn it down, but since our relationship was over and he had no reason to stay in LA, he decided to accept it.I felt guilty for not being able to give him what he wanted. Anthonio wasted his time loving a woman like me. I apologized to him, but I didn't think it would ever be enough to make up for all the guilt I felt towards him.I rang Chiara's doorbell three times and waited for her to answer the door. The door swung o
“You’re the sexiest woman I’ve ever seen. I absolutely love your pregnant body.”“Don’t try to fool me. I know I’m ugly. I feel insecure when you’re in meetings with beautiful, sexy women. My body is nothing compared to theirs.”“They’re nothing compared to you, actually.”Raviel grabbed my wrist and shoved it into his crotch.“Only you can make him that wild, baby. And I absolutely love your pregnant body. It makes me want to have at least ten children with you. But if you can give me more, that would be even better.”I gaped at him before squeezing his shaft hard.He chuckled between moans.“Ten children? Are you crazy, Rave?”"I actually intended to have fifteen children. You're still very young, Claire. If we have one child every year, by the time you give birth to my fifteenth, you'll only be around thirty-seven. You're even younger than I am now. If you had twins, it would be much easier."I was shocked to hear her ramble on about children and age, as if it were nothing.“I don’
I kicked the covers off my feet and jumped out of bed as soon as I heard the main door open. The house was huge, and it should have been nearly impossible for me to hear it open. But my ears were as sharp as a bat's when it came to Raviel. I could even hear his footsteps as he walked down the driveway. He always opened the main door as quietly as possible so as not to wake me, but I could still hear him.He had just returned from Miami."Why are you still awake at two in the morning, baby?"Raviel scooped me into his arms before kissing me hard."I was waiting for you to come home. I can't sleep if you come home late.""I have a meeting with some of my clients. Seth can't handle it himself because they really need to discuss the details of the weapon with me."Raviel sighed softly."I should have hired a physicist specifically for that, but the weapons I make come directly from here." Raviel tapped his temple with his index finger.“They can only handle the manufacturing process, but
I could imagine how boring my life would be in the future. I'd be back in the days before I met Claire, where sex was all about lust. I'd still be bored even if I slept with a dozen women in a week."Here's your scotch, sir. Anything else you’d like?""I'll let you know if I need anything."She was attracted to me, and I was sure she wouldn't refuse me when I asked her to spread her legs for me. But the idea of fucking her felt wrong. My heart was against it, even though my lips were practically begging the flight attendant to strip in front of me."Boss, are we leaving now?""Yes, we are leaving now. I miss that bastard Seth," I said to my pilot through my headset.Simon laughed softly, and the plane slowly taxied.I sipped my scotch as I stared out the window at the boring runway.I was leaving LA. Maybe for good. I wouldn't come back here until I was truly ready to go back. If Aiden missed me, I could ask Claire to send him to Miami. I would leave all my memories with Claire behi
“I’m going back to Miami today.”“Boss? Good to hear you’re going back to Miami. Are you taking Claire and your son with you?”“No, asshole,” I snapped at him angrily.“Your bullshit plan didn’t work. She’s marrying that bastard today.”“What? Why did you let him marry Claire?”I snorted and hung up before throwing the phone on the bed. There was no point in lingering with Seth. All his plans had failed. He was the one who told me to win Claire back. He advised me to act like a gentleman so she would relent and come back to me. It was all bullshit. Claire did love me, but it wasn’t enough to make her leave that bastard. She still chose him over me.How painful that was.I threw all my belongings into my suitcase and locked it. I decided I wasn't going back to this place. This apartment held too many memories of Claire and Aiden. I couldn't live in their shadow forever. I had to move on and get back on track. I would work day and night to forget Claire. The bottles of booze I'd downed
