MasukCasey POV
"Fucking asshole!"
I almost slapped Noah, but he just swatted my hand away, grabbing it with one hand. He smirked, clearly enjoying having control over me.
"Don't even try fighting me, Girl. You're completely under my control."
"Noah, stop it…"
A knock at the door was like a godsend, and instantly, Noah's smirk vanished. He glared at the door, letting out a frustrated sigh. He let go of my hand. Before opening the door, he briefly touched my lip, as if tidying up the mess he'd made.
Noah opened the door. The beautiful woman who had been standing near Mr. Adam earlier was also there.
"Your dad's waiting. He's got a lot of work to do. Don't get too lost in your fun here," the woman said, her voice firm but soft.
Noah's gaze was sharp. He didn't say anything. He just pulled me out of the room and towards the dining area. Mr. Peter Adam was already there, sitting with such a dominating aura. It was clear that he had authority, not just in this house, but all over the city. I hesitated to join them, but it was too late. Noah sat down, sliding out the chair next to him and patting it, signaling me to sit there.
It was rude, but I couldn't say anything right now. I felt like I didn't have the guts around Mr. Adam. So I slowly sat down, making sure my actions seemed polite. The beautiful woman came in, sitting elegantly across the table, her gaze fixed on Noah. She made it clear she was the lady of the house.
In that tense, cold atmosphere, we had dinner together. The dishes on the table were so varied. I took just a little bit and ate it quietly.
"Why did you move to this city?" Mr. Peter suddenly asked.
I almost choked as his gaze pierced right through me.
"Uh, yeah. It's about personal stuff," I mumbled. "My parents got divorced, and I had to move in with my mom."
"Divorced?" he grumbled. His voice is deep and intimidating. "What does your mom do?"
"She's actually looking for a job right now, but I can assure you I'm fine, Mr. Adam. My mom is very conservative and protective."
"So, who's paying for your college?"
"My mom has compensation money from the divorce and some savings that are enough to pay for me. I'll probably get a part-time job too. So, it's not a big deal."
"You look so gloomy," the beautiful woman said suddenly. "If finances aren't the main problem, then something else about this divorce is hurting you."
"Can you just shut your fucking mouth, Rebecca?" Noah suddenly snapped. "Why do you have to ask about other people's privacy? You're making Casey uncomfortable."
I stayed silent. Again, Noah's anger was ruining the mood. Why was he so easily angered? And who was Rebecca? She was too young to be Noah's mother.
Noah stood up, about to pull my hand.
"Sit down!" Mr. Adam suddenly boomed, his voice echoing. "No one leaves this room until the food on that plate is finished."
I took a deep breath. My throat felt tight from the tension, but the tension immediately shifted when a phone rang. It was Mr. Adam's. He stood up, moved away from the table, and answered the call.
"Yes, Sheriff. What's going on, calling me so late?" His voice was calm, but I could feel the seriousness.
"Just eat." Noah reminded me to ignore his dad.
I tried to focus on my food, but Mr. Adam's words about a biker gang were clear. I looked at Noah. His jaw was clenched. Even though he pretended to be calm, I knew he was on alert, listening to his father's conversation. It seemed like chaos was happening downtown due to a biker gang.
After a while, Mr. Adam came back to the table. He finished dinner in a bit of a hurry.
"What happened?" Noah asked, sounding curious.
Mr. Adam stood up, looking at his son.
"A group of bikers caused chaos at the fireworks party. Some citizens were injured. I need to check it out," he answered quickly.
Noah also stood up, but Mr. Adam turned back, pointing at Noah.
"You're not going there, Noah. Take your girlfriend home. Her mom must be looking for her. I don't want to see you at the scene!" The warning was clear. I was worried, but it was better if I didn't get involved.
Mr. Peter Adam left the dining room in a hurry. Right then, Noah got up. Rebecca approached him.
"Don't interfere, Noah. Let your dad handle everything."
"Get fucking lost. I need to take Casey home," Noah said sharply, without any empathy.
Rebecca is just silent, scared by Noah's glare and voice. Noah turned to me, "Come on. You need to go home."
I stood up. This was what I was waiting for. To go home and end this day. Noah grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the place, and he was in just as much of a hurry as his father. His hand was rough, like someone being chased. I felt overwhelmed trying to keep up with him.
"I can walk by myself, Noah! You're hurting me!" But he didn't care.
We left the house, but we took an unusual, smaller, and quieter street. I was scared, especially with the minimal lighting.
"Where are we? I need to go home, Noah."
"Just be quiet. The streets are messed up. I need to make sure they don't see you."
They? Who? Those bikers? Oh, no. This is fucking dangerous."
We arrived next to my house. I didn't dare let my mom see Noah. And it looked like my mom was already home. She'd definitely be mad at me. It was already 8 PM. She'd know I lied.
"Go," I said.
Noah looked around, as if observing something.
"Where's your room?" Noah asked.
"Why do you ask?"
"No. Just asking."
I pointed to the window on the side. It was visible because we were next to the house. Suddenly, my phone rang. I panicked, thinking it was my mom calling. When I checked, it was Anthony. Instantly, I felt my blood boil. I didn't want to answer the call.
"Why?" Noah peeked. "Why aren't you answering?"
"None of your business."
Noah snatched my phone. He looked at the screen, then immediately answered the call. My eyes widened in panic. Why was he so random!
"Noah, give me my phone!"
"Hey, dude!" Noah answered Anthony's call. He smirked, looking completely satisfied.
"Oh, hey. Who are you? This is my girlfriend's phone. Why are you answering it?"
Anthony's voice was clearly audible. Noah glanced at me, making me panic. What was he going to tell Anthony? I hoped he wouldn't make things even worse.
Casey POVI’m sitting on my bedroom floor, staring off into space. My stomach’s killing me. Chills are shooting right through my bones. I know I’m gonna fight with my mom. It’s like we’re cursed to never get along. I know she loves me, but I’ll never get what goes on in her head. Why’d she have to meet Becky five years ago? Why did that whole thing have to happen? Why do I have to go through all this shit?“Darling, you need to eat dinner.”“I can take care of myself, Mom.”“I know you’re mad, but don’t hurt yourself over this.”I don’t wanna say anything. My mom never wants to get how I feel.Next morning I head out to the garage. I know I’m being stupid. I shouldn’t even be here. I should’ve just left my car here and headed back to Center City.“You’re here.” Jordan greets me.I smile, but inside I’m dying of embarrassment. My eyes drift to my car—still completely untouched.“Your car needs some serious TLC. How long’s it been since you brought it in? You skip maintenance or what?”
Noah POV“How about I move in with you in Wood Town, Noah?”Reemar, all bright and cheery, dropped that on me out of nowhere. Not like I saw it coming.”Oh, wow. That’s… that’s a dope idea… but honestly? You’re better off staying in Center City.”“Why? You said you wanted to date me, didn’t you?”“Hm, yeah. But I like a little challenge. And aren’t you still trying to get back at your ex-fiancé? I can just come visit you in Center City and… ““That’s what you’re thinking about? Noah, you actually want to get revenge… “I flashed her a smile. One I knew would make her melt. She pulled me in, and next thing I knew, we were making out. It didn't take long ‘til I had her clothes off. I turned into a total animal up there on the bed. Been way too long holding back all this tension. Reemar knew her way around. Her body was on fire, and kept me on my toes. I got her off fast, then took what I wanted. That’s all it was. Yeah, just that. But… nah. Who am I kidding? I had a plan. And Reemar? Sh
Casey POVSlap!!“Stay the fuck away from Reemar, Noah! You can hit on anyone else but not my friend, not Reemar!”My blood was boiling. I couldn’t control my body. As soon as Reemar told me Noah had been hitting on her, I hopped in my car and drove straight to his garage.Noah was quiet. He was sitting on a car hood, staring at me with a tiny, mocking smile.“Why? Do you fucking care?”I let out a cold laugh. “Of course I do. Reemar’s my friend. She’s not like all those other girls you can just destroy.”“Destroy her? Who’s destroying who, Casey? What do you even think of me?”“You mean to tell me you’re actually trying to date Reemar? You think I’d buy that shit?”“Hmmm. I’m dead serious. I do want to date her. She’s cute, she’s honest. She sees me for who I am without looking down on me.”“Did you tell her you’ve been to jail?”“I’m serious about Reemar. There’s nothing I’d hide from her.”I tugged at my hair in frustration. My thoughts were all jumbled. Noah’s answer was clear, bu
Noah POVSilence mixed with tension flooded the air. I went quiet after spilling everything I’d been holding in for so long. And Casey… man, she was crying, crying like someone who’d just lost everything. The damage I’d taken was too much. Losing James wasn’t easy, and then Black Hell getting shut down on top of that? My dad treated me like a stranger now, even though he gave me a fresh start after I got out of jail. But without James and Black Hell, I was just a loser.“Get out of here, Casey. Wood Town ain’t good enough for you,” I said, making sure my voice was cold as ice.Casey was the reason all this happened. My biggest regret was not listening to James. I never should’ve gone near her, but… even though I was so mad. Even though I blamed her for every single problem, there was a part of me that missed her. I couldn’t help it.“I am sorry,” Casey whispered, her voice scratchy. “Forgive me for causing all this.”I took a deep breath. “Apologize don't bring James back, Casey.”“Th
Casey POV“Come on, Casey. Why are you sitting here like you’re worth nothin’?”Reemar grabbed my hand, tugging me toward the river.“No, no, Reem. I can’t… “I wasn’t ready to get soaked in river water. I just wanted to tag along with him.“Good idea!”Noah popped up from the water, climbing onto the bank. His eyes had that look. The one I knew all too well. That damn sneer of his was familiar as hell.“No, Noah, no!”Noah shook his head. He closed in on me, lifting my body with Reemar’s help.“Fuck, let me go!”They swung me around. Laughing their asses off. The river water was like it was waving at me. Oh, no…In seconds, my body was flying into the river. One minute the air was free and clear. The next, cold, crisp water was wrapping around me. I lost control for a second, water flooding my nose and mouth, but only for a beat before my brain snapped back to reality. I tried to push my head up, kicking my legs. The current was a little strong. I could stand, but my foot slipped. I
Casey POV“Going out?” I raised my voice as Reemar tried to talk me into hanging out.Real talk, I’d asked for a week in Wood Town just to chill. My schedule in Center City was insane, and it was all so emotionally draining. I needed a break from all the chaos. And one of the reasons I didn’t stay at my mom’s place? I really wanted some me-time, just for myself.“Please, Casey. Noah made time for us. He said he wants to show us around Wood Town.”“Us?” I mumbled, taking a deep breath.Reemar gave me those puppy dog eyes. You know the ones, like he wasn’t gonna back down till I said yes.“Alright, alright, but… “ I trailed off, hinting at conditions.“I’ll go along with whatever rules you lay down.”I couldn’t say no to Reemar. Even though he never said it out loud, I knew his heart was broken. He was trying to distract himself from it all. I’d checked his fiancé’s socials, and the dude posted wedding pics. Reemar still hadn’t unfollowed him. Which meant he hadn’t fully let go of Patri
