Five

April finished dressing up and further building up her walls.

The madness about Enrique Alvaro had to stop. He was just a man like every other man, she reasoned with herself for the hundredth time.

She took a deep breath and parked her hair back holding it up with a hairband. She stood and admired herself in front of the standing mirror.

"You're successful, beautiful and you're the boss. They thought you couldn't do it and you proved them all wrong" she said as she stared at herself far longer than necessary and suddenly felt sad that her father wasn't around anymore. She loved him so much and he just left her. So did her mother. All because of love. Why? wasn't she worth loving?.

She shook her head to clear off the offending thought. She couldn't start her day on such a bad note. She stepped out of her suite and came face to face with Brian who was holding roses. She hated roses.

"Wow, you look even more beautiful this morning" he complimented her and she gave a polite smile. There was something off about him that didn't sit well with her. Probably the way he leered.

" Thank you, Brian." She answered as she clutched tighter on her purse, waiting for him to say whatever he wanted to.

"Beautiful flowers for a gorgeous lady," he said smoothly giving her the flowers. She accepted it.

"They are beautiful. Thank you Brian" she said and he moved closer making her step back. She had not expected him to make such a move and she found herself cornered between him and her suite door.

" So let's have breakfast together?" he asked and reached out to tuck her stray hair behind her ear. She flinched as she felt his thumb touch her skin. He trailed his hand down her cheek then toward her neck where they lingered and she fisted her hands trying not to slap him or say something nasty. She had to repeat it in her head like a mantra to remain calm.

"I'm sorry but I already promised someone". She said as she moved her face from his touch.

"Yes she did" Enrique answered and Brian turned to face him, looking upset.

April sighed in relief. The guy just made her skin crawl.

Enrique walked to her side and then took her hand. She couldn't explain the tingles that ran down her spine.

"Oh! I see. Well maybe you'll save me another breakfast then" he said with forced propriety looking like he wanted to stab Enrique. Enrique's look was dark. His stare could make one cower.

"She won't be saving them. We already have those arrangements. You should go" he said in a very menacing voice. Brian looked at her and she nodded.

"Ok. I'll see you around," he said and gave Enrique one last look and then walked away.

"Let's go," he says and she pulled her hand from his. She suddenly felt the loss of his warmth. His scent was very seductive and it was hard not to stare at him. She was trying her very best and she was going to succeed she promised herself.

"Thank you for your help but I won't be eating with you either," she stated staring up at him. He was way taller than her even when she was in heels. Damn, she had always been fascinated with tall guys.

"I wasn't asking" he declared and her eyes widened at the dark tone that he had used on her.

Enrique took a deep breath. He didn't even know why he was angry, but seeing Brian touch her like that just brought out a strange feeling in his chest.

"I don't care if you were asking or not." She snapped back and then he grabbed her by the arms pulling her close to him and bending his head so that they were face to face.

"You let him touch you without you saying anything so I think you should drop that attitude that you don't like to be intimate with anyone. Or maybe you only reserve that for the king's family" he said angrily. April tried to push him away but he was like a rock. The closeness was messing with her head. His touch felt too warm and she felt the heat rise to her cheeks, reddening them.

"Let go of me, Mr. Alvaro. I will not be held against my will and be forced to listen to all your stupidity" she said attempting to free her arms, brushing against him without meaning to.

She gasped as she felt something poking at her. Enrique swore and she looked up at him and then it was his lips coming over hers in a deep sensual kiss that left her almost breathless.

She couldn't care if they were in a crowded room at this moment as she wouldn't stop the kiss for the world.

It was like delicious shock waves traveled down all over her body from his lip to hers. His hands were moving all over her. Kneading, grabbing, and demanding. She moaned in his mouth.

Enrique didn't want to come up for air. He wanted to freeze the time. She was like a drug and just this taste was sure to make him addicted. She fitted in his arms perfectly and as he touched her, his hands couldn't get enough of her. They were frantic on their own. She melted into him like she wanted to be in his arms forever.

"Sir Enrique" Jasmin gasped out almost choking on her words.

April pulled out of his arms sharply.

Enrique watched as her face drained of color as if she couldn't believe what just happened.

April couldn't move because her legs were still like jelly. Hell her panties were soaked. She was burning up internally with embarrassment as she avoided eye contact with whoever had caught them.

Zerah came out of his room and saw the three of them in the hallway. He walked towards April taking in her appearance. Her hair was disheveled and her mouth was swollen and her cheek was flushed.

April saw him and took one look at Enrique then walked towards him quickly and motioned for them to go to his room. He nodded and led her there closing the door after her.

Enrique was alarmed at what had just happened. He was never one to lose control like this or chase after a woman. But this all felt too right. Too good. He turned to face Jasmin.

"What do you want Jasmin," He asked gruffly trying to still his heartbeat. Damn the feeling of her lips, her taste had him hardening in his pants again.

"I just wanted you to meet some businessmen who have a proposal for you sir. I met them yesterday and arranged a meeting for this morning" she said in a small voice.

" Thank you, Jasmin. I'll get my laptop" he said and walked back into his room closing the door.

Jasmin's tears fell as her eyes reddened. She felt so much resentment. So much anger. Why that woman and not her. Why had he been kissing her so passionately, and in the hallway of all places?

How was he supposed to ever love her if all these women kept throwing their selves at him?

"I didn't think April Sanders would be this kind of woman too. I am going to teach her a lesson she'll not be forgetting anytime soon." She swore as she stared at the room where she knew April was staying.

Zerah's Suite

"Are you alright?" he asked concerned, yet angry as he tried to assess the situation he had walked into some minutes back. He didn't want to know if Enrique had kissed her. It was damn obvious tho and his heartbeat was thumping painfully in his chest.

"Am fine. I just needed to breathe a little."

"Did he harass you. You can file a complaint against him". He suggested because he wanted to believe that Enrique had probably taken advantage of her.

" No Zerah. I gave into that kiss because I wanted to. I tried to stop myself but I couldn't. I know I am attracted to him but I didn't think I couldn't resist him to that extent. How can I be so stupid and careless? What if there was some paparazzi here..." She said almost panicking. She looked up at him and he stowed away his jealousy to comfort her.

" Calm down April. Nothing like that happened. No one took any pictures. You will not be a part of his women scandals". He assured, and took hold of her hands in his, before looking up at her.

" I didn't even think of that. He's so rude you know. He says whatever he wants without caring if my feelings get hurt and I still went ahead and kissed him. I just confirmed his words by kissing him. He thinks am cheap" she said in remorse. She could admit to herself that she had handled the situation badly.

"You're not cheap and you don't like him so I don't think you should care what he thinks. Or do you like him?" He asks cautiously and as April remained quiet, he let go of her hands slowly. She looked up at him with an incredulous look on her face.

"Of course not. I will never like a man like that. He's a pompous ass with such a massive ego and domineering personality that I detest him." She said getting angry as she remembered everything he had said to her.

Zerah felt relieved. He felt like he still stood a chance. He was the one she could freely talk to so why wasn't she even attracted to him? Maybe he just needed to take a different approach and show her how he felt about her.

She stood up looking like her normal regal self. He could see her mind working as she analyzed the situation and came to a conclusion.

"So he plans to ruin my reputation so he can take away my contract and the partnership with Adam kings. I can picture it now. From now on I'll think with my head and not my heart. I'll show him I'm not an opponent he can easily knockdown. Two can play a game." She said and smiled. She just had to stay here for five more days and then she would never have to see him again. But as long as she was here, she had to guard against him. She would act like she didn't give a damn. He didn't exist to her and she wasn't attracted to him. He was just a businessman trying to compete with her. She always won.
