Chapter 28 Finding Him
Calix stared down at Selene, who was carefully being transferred by the nurses to her wheelchair. She wobbled out of the bed and winced when she finally sat. Calix turned his gaze away, refusing to watch how Selene struggles with her condition.
“You ready?” the doctor asked. Selene nodded with a smile. The doctor looked at Calix and nodded. “Take good care of her and bring her back here as soon as possible, okay?”
“I understand, thank you,” he answered. Calix went behind Selene and started pushing her out of the room.
Selene had managed to make a deal with the doctors and Calix. She wanted to see Lucas in exchange for her approval to be treated of her brain tumor. Calix could not do anything but to agree on her condition, swallowing his feelings just so Selene could get better.

“When do you intend to go back?”Lucas furiously unbuttoned his shirt and threw his tie on the floor. Lucas snarled under his breath. He launched forward to his Father, his golden coloured eyes turned into bloody red, glowing in flames of anger. Faye and Calix barged in when they finally managed to get a spare key from one of the nuns in the parish. Both of them rushed inside together with Sister Bella. They saw Lucas and Selene sitting on the floor, staring at each other. When Selene saw them, she smiled and nudged Lucas. He turned around and met all of their glaring eyes, with Sister Bella’s the most intense. She launched on Lucas and held him on his arms, her eyes widened in great fury. “Where is Father Don?!” she yelled. Selene approached them and held Sister Bella on her shoulders. “Sister Bella, please calm down,” she said softly. Lucas just stared at her with his emotionless eyes, not engaging himself to the rage of the nun. “Please, just tell me what happened to him!” Sister Bella’s grip loosened up as she helplessly wailed in front of him, her eyes squeezed shut as tears continuously flowed on her cheeks.

Lucas was staring out the window, watching as the rain pour outside blurring the surroundings and keeping people out from the street.
