He took one step closer.

“You really want to find out?”.

Kai didn't know what to say, Noah was now closer to Kai.

“Uh…umm”

Kai leaned back, but his legs seemed to be glued to the ground.

Noah didn't move back instead he moved even closer to Kai, Kai could feel his breath fanning against his neck.

His breath felt slightly ticklish against his neck and he couldn't help but suck in a breath.

“What? Cat got your tongue now?” Noah said his lips moving closer to Kai's neck.

Kai's hand folded into a grip, his eyes shut tight.

“Fuck what the hell is he doing”, Kai thought.

Noah wrapped a hand around Kai's folded grip unclasping his folded grip.

Noah brought Kai's hand to his stomach, then traced his stomach with Kai's hand.

As his hands moved lower, they hovered over Noah's waist, fingers digging lightly into his boxers.

“That night…my dick was so hard it throbbed with pain”. Noah said, moving Kai's hand further down his pants.

Kai tries to jerk his hands back, but Noah doesn't let go.

“Until…”, a sinister smile graced Noah's lips. “Until your warm mouth wrapped around them”.

“Get…the fuck away from me” Kai yelled jerking his hands away from Noah's pants.

Kai pushed Noah away, his cheek flushed pink.

Noah chuckled lightly finally turning away from Kai.

“Aren't you too shy for an escort?”.

“Fuck…you know what…whatever”. Kai mumbled, his hands wiped down on his face in frustration. “If I'm an escort then you're a slut”.

“Careful,” Noah said quietly. “You keep pushing.”

Kai let out a small breath. “And what happens if I do?”

Noah didn’t answer immediately.

His eyes held Kai’s, steady, searching, like he was measuring something.

Then he leaned in slightly

Not touching.

Not quite.

Just close enough that Kai felt it.

“That depends,” Noah said, voice low, controlled, “on whether you actually know what you’re asking for.”

Kai’s fingers curled at his sides.

His pulse picked up again, loud in his ears, and he hated how aware he was of everything how close Noah was, how easy it would be to close that space.

He forced a small laugh instead.

“You think too highly of yourself.”

Noah didn’t move back.

“Do I?”

Kai’s brows pulled together slightly.

“Yeah. You do.”

Noah didn’t react immediately.

“Most people who talk like you,” Kai added, shifting his weight, “usually don’t follow through.”

A pause.

Noah’s gaze didn’t leave him.

“Is that what you think?” he asked.

Kai lifted his chin a little. “That’s what I see.”

Another beat.

Noah exhaled softly through his nose. Not quite a laugh.

"Tell me then", Noah said with a smirk on his face. "In what way have I not followed through".

"What..."

"I remember clearly the other night, I promised to teach you a lesson you'd never forget and I believe I did. Didn't I?"

"What...lesson?" Kai asked.

Noah didn't reply, he just stared straight into Kai's eyes.

"Stop staring at me like that" Kai said dropping his gaze from Noah's.

"I see you don't remember the lesson".

"What the hell is he talking about", Kai thought. "What lesson?".

Kai's thoughts drifted back to the other night, the sex replaying in his mind made his dick hard again.

Then he suddenly remembered what Noah had said before fucking him so hard he could barely sit comfortably.

Noah had said "I don't appreciate lateness so I will teach you a lesson by fucking you so hard you'd barely be able to sit." And he did exactly that.

Kai's face heated up as the night replayed in his mind. Noah's voice cut through his thoughts. "I see you've remembered".

Kai cleared his throat, “I remember,” Kai said quickly, cutting himself off before his voice could crack.

He lifted his chin a little, even if the heat was still sitting on his face.

“And I also remember you talking too much.”

Noah’s brow lifted slightly.

Kai forced a small, shaky laugh.

“For someone so focused on ‘teaching a lesson,’ you seemed pretty into it.”

A pause.

Kai held his gaze this time, even if his fingers curled slightly at his sides.

“So yeah,” he added, quieter but steady, “don’t act like that was one-sided.”

Noah didn’t speak immediately.

His eyes stayed on Kai, slow, unreadable.

Then...

“You’re very confident,” Noah said calmly, “for someone who couldn’t walk away last night.”

Kai’s jaw tightened. “And you’re very talkative for someone so busy then.”

Noah’s eyes flicked down, just for a second, then back up.

“Careful,” he said again, quieter this time.

Kai shrugged, even though his pulse had already picked up again.

“Or what?”

Noah didn’t answer.

Then he stepped back.

Just like that.

The shift was so sudden it threw Kai off balance.

“Go get your water,” Noah said, as if nothing had just happened.

Kai blinked. “…What?”

“You came out for something, didn’t you?”

Kai stared at him for a second, then pushed himself off the wall.

“Yeah,” he said, brushing past him.“Water.”

The kitchen light was already on.

Kai paused at the doorway.

“You were already here?” he asked, glancing back.

Noah followed at a slower pace. “It’s my house.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

Noah ignored that and walked past him, heading straight for the fridge.

Kai watched him for a second.

The way he moved, calm, unbothered, like…nothing had happened.

Like Kai hadn’t been..

He shook the thought off and grabbed a

glass.

“Do you always stay up this late?” Kai asked, mostly to fill the silence.

“Sometimes.”

“Doing what?”

Noah took a bottle from the fridge and closed it. “Thinking.”

Kai snorted lightly. “About what?”

Noah glanced at him. “You ask a lot of questions.”

“You answer none of them.”

“That’s because most of them don’t need answers.”

Kai rolled his eyes and took a sip of water.

“Right.”

Silence fell again.

Not empty.

Just… there.

Kai leaned back against the counter, glass in hand.

Noah stood across from him, one hand resting lightly on the edge of the table, watching him in that same quiet way.

Kai noticed.

Of course, he noticed.

“What?” he asked.

Noah tilted his head slightly. “Nothing.”

“You’re staring.”

“I’m looking.”

“At me.”

“Yes.”

Kai huffed. “That’s the same thing.”

Noah didn’t respond.

Kai shifted, suddenly aware of how thin his shirt was, how the cold tile felt under his bare feet.

“You’re weird,” Kai muttered.

“You walked into a stranger’s room and stayed,” Noah said calmly. “Let’s not start ranking behavior.”

Kai choked on a breath. “We are not bringing that up again.”

“You brought it up.”

“I did not…”

“You just did.”

Kai groaned and rubbed his face. “You’re actually insufferable.”

Noah’s mouth curved slightly. “And yet, you’re still here.”

Kai dropped his hand and looked at him.

“…It’s the kitchen,” he said flatly.

Noah didn’t look away.

“Is that the only reason?”

Kai hesitated.

Just for a second.

Then he pushed off the counter. “I got what I came for.”

He set the glass down and turned toward the door.

Noah didn’t stop him.

Didn’t say anything.

Kai walked past him, slower than he needed to.

Waiting.

For something.

Anything.

Nothing came.

By the time he stepped back into the hallway, Noah hadn’t followed.

Kai stopped.

Listened.

Silence.

He frowned slightly and turned back.

The kitchen was empty.

Noah was gone.

Kai stood there for a second, confused.

Then his lips pressed together.

“…Seriously?”

He walked back into the kitchen, glancing

around like Noah might just appear again.

Nothing.

The bottle was still on the table.

The light is still on.

But Noah…

Gone.

Kai exhaled sharply through his nose.

“Unbelievable.”

He leaned back against the counter again, staring at the space for a moment.

Then slowly…

A small smirk pulled at his lips.

“…so that’s how you want to play it.”

He picked up the glass again, turning it in his hand.

“Fine.”

A pause.

His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“Let’s see how long you last.”

“This is more interesting than I assumed it would be.”

  • DON'T CALL ME BROTHER    Chapter 21

Slowly, Kai turned around. Noah was standing near the edge of the foyer, a black suit jacket tossed over his arm. For a long moment, neither of them said a word. Two years hadn't changed him. Noah stood there with his hands in his pockets, his dark eyes fixed on Kai, openly sizing him up. Kai didn't flinch, matching his stare with a steady look of his own. Finally, Kai gave a small nod. "Hey." Noah looked him up and down once. "You're back." "Looks like it." The silence that settled between them wasn't exactly awkward, but it was heavy with the weight of two years of absolute nothing. Behind Kai, Kayla looked back and forth between the two of them, her eyebrows knitting together in total confusion. "Wait," she said, breaking the silence. Neither man looked at her right away, so she stepped into Kai's line of sight. "Nobody told me you had a brother." That actually got Noah’s attention. His eyes shifted down to her, a flicker of genuine surprise crossing his face.

  • DON'T CALL ME BROTHER    Chapter 20

"You're back." Kai turned around just as Kayla ran up to him. She looked exactly the same as she did yesterday long dark hair, a massive smile, and way too much energy. Before he could even speak, she threw her arms around his neck. "There you are," she breathed. Kai caught her by the waist, laughing a little. "We literally saw each other yesterday." "Doesn't count," she said, pulling back but keeping her hands on his shoulders. She looked him up and down with a small frown. "You look tired. You work too much." "And you complain too much." "Yet you still haven't broken up with me." "It's a tragedy, really." Kayla laughed, punching his arm lightly. "Shut up and help me with my bag." The next few hours went by in a bit of a blur. They moved through the private lounge, waited out a short flight delay, and Kayla ended up drinking half of his coffee because she claimed hers was too sweet. She spent most of the wait teasing him about whether he could actually survive a whol

“Mr Kai?” “What is it Peter?” “You haven't responded,” Peter, Kai's Personal assistant murmured, he was holding a tablet in his hand. Kai didn’t look up from the report. "Move Singapore to Thursday." "Already done," his assistant replied, not missing a beat. "The investor call?" "Rescheduled for Tuesday morning." Kai scribbled his signature on the final page and slid the file across the desk. It was gone before it even settled, replaced instantly by a fresh folder. The office was quiet, insulated from the distant, muffled hum of the city twenty-nine floors below. Out there, traffic crawled through the streets like a line of ants. Kai barely glanced at it. "You’ve got about five hours before you need to head out," he added, checking his tablet. His pen stopped. For the first time that morning, he looked up. "Five?" "Your flight’s at eight, Mr. Singh." Eight. Five hours, then, home. The word hit a strange, heavy note deep in his chest. It wasn’t that he’d forgotten what

  • DON'T CALL ME BROTHER    Chapter 18

Kai barely heard the rest of the lecture. The professor’s voice was just background noise, a low hum that drifted over the rows of desks.Around him, students were already talking about weekend plans.Someone was complaining about a professor.Someone else was arguing about grades but Kai couldn't be bothered with any of that.Kai looked down at the blank page in front of him.If Mr. Singh wanted him out of the country, then this wasn't about school. No…he is not nice enough for that.It was about something else, but what? All around him, students were typing furiously or scribbling in their notebooks. Someone dropped a pen three rows behind him, the sharp clatter echoing in the large room.Kai sat completely still, his eyes fixed on his notebook. He had written the date at the top of the page, but nothing else. His phone sat face down right beside it, looking completely innocent. The words Mr. Singh had spoken earlier kept circling in his mind like a broken record.By the time c

  • DON'T CALL ME BROTHER    Chapter 17

Kai woke up slowly, still half asleep as he reached for his phone beside the bed—no new messages. “…hm.” He pushed himself up, dragging a hand through his hair before heading for the door. The moment he stepped into the hallway he paused slightly. Quiet, no rustling in the kitchen, no footsteps, no Noah's voice talking to whomever he talks to early in the morning, no sound of movement downstairs. No low hum from the coffee machine. No smell of strong coffee filling the house like it usually did every morning. Kai frowned a little. “…seriously?” Kai muttered. He leaned slightly against the railing, looking downstairs like Noah might suddenly appear from somewhere. The whole house felt empty. Kai stood there another second before scoffing softly to himself and turning back into his room. “Okay then…do you?” His phone buzzed just as he pulled his shirt over his head getting ready to take a bath. Kai glanced at the screen while walking toward the bathroom, Daniel’s message st

  • DON'T CALL ME BROTHER    Chapter 16

Kai was already half gone when Noah shook his shoulder slightly, enough to wake him up.“Kai,” Noah called, but got no response.Noah saw Kai passed out and almost smirked. A quiet, satisfied kind of pride he would never admit to.“We didn't even do much, why are you so tired”, Noah murmured almost to himself. “Why is he so hot…has he caught a fever?”Then suddenly the smirk wiped off his face…almost like he remembered something.“Kai. Wake up.” Noah called again, shaking him harder this time.Kai shifted slightly, face still pressed into the seat.“…five minutes.”Noah: “Now.”Kai groaned under his breath. “God…let me sleep, you caused this anyway.” “Get up,” Noah said, his voice cold and controlled, a total difference from what it was a few minutes ago.Kai noticed this; he opened one eye slowly, staring at Noah, trying to read him, but his face had gone back to its usual unreadable expression.“Not again”, Kai thought, then let out a soft sigh, already pushing himself off the bed.
