Lydia woke up with a slight headache.

She yawned before opening her eyes.

She stared at the bouquet and she remembers the letter was cane with it.

“I need to tell cassius” she thought.

She called him immediately.

He picked before the second ring.

“Hello, Lydia”

“Hey, faith sent me some flowers”

“What?”

“A peace offering, she wants us to go back the way we were before”

Cassius said nothing.

“And to think of it, if I agree then our plans will be easy”

Silence.

“Cassius”

“Yh, that's good” his words were flat

“What do you think, she has been playing hard to get and this is the perfect time to shoot or shot”

“you are not saying anything, are you not happy that's will go smoothly”

“I said I'm glad Lydia”

“hm hm, anyway she still remember my favorite roses red roses and sunflowers”

Something shifted in Cassius' mind.

“Keep the flowers away from your bed”

Lydia frowned “Why, it was with me through out the night and it still here”

“Just,” he stopped himself “nothing, forget it”

He hung up before she could utter another word.

Lydia looked at her phone and scoffed.

She moved them from the table to the bedside.

“He is just jealous, I'm trying to help him”

It started again, the headache became much worse, and her body was dull.

She drank water, she assumed that it was dehydration, she drank more than two glasses then she went back to rest.

After nausea had started, she became uncomfortable again, this time her body was too heavy for her.

She still assumed that it was stress from exams, graduation, the arrest, Cassius and Victoria, and anyone will be stressed after going through all that.

She stretched her hand to her drawers, she took out a headache pill, she took some and lay back.

“What if I make peace with my bestie and stop following Cassius ?” She asked no one.

“But Cassius is my all in all”

The thought was still running in her mind as she fell asleep smiling.

When she woke up, she tried to prepare something since she was hungry, she made some noodles and served herself.

She sat down with the plate of food. She was staring at it and the noodles were also staring at her.

She could eat two bowels and that won't sustain her but now with just one bowel she could not lift her chopsticks.

The noodles became cold when she stood up. She tried to stand still but she  fell to the ground, if not that she was quick enough to hold the chairs.

She wanted to go back to her room , but she couldn't reach her room. She had rested up to ten times, which wasn't funny at all.

She sat on the floor.

“Why is my body so weak, I was fine just this morning”

When she finally reached her room, she took her phone .

She stared at the bouquet, it was still beautiful.

The scent was still sweet and heavy.

She called Cassius.

“I don't feel well”

“What's wrong”

“Headache, nausea, my body is weak”

“For how long”

“I started feeling it since last night”

Cassius said nothing.

“Cassius,” she called.

“Wait for me I'm coming” he voice changed completely.

“Okay”

“Are you close to the bouquet?”

“Yes, it's close to me”

“Stay away from it, I'm on my way”

“Why do you always keep saying that, what's wrong with the flower?”

“You won't understand, just stay away from it”

“But–”

He hung up before she could finish.

She looked at the bouquet one more time. It was still beautiful and killing her slowly.

He arrived and we went straight to the flowers and he threw it away without a word.

“Cassius” she yelled.

“They are making the room smell”

“But it's was given be faith, and I love it, go and get it back now”

“You don't need them”

Lydia stared at him, eyes red, pale face, her hands were trembling slightly.

“Why did you do that, she is finally falling into our trap and you are throwing it away”

“How are you feeling?”

“Cassius don't change the topic”

“I asked again, how are you feeling, do not let me get angry”

She stopped.

Something in his expression made her stop completely.

“Weak” she said quietly “my head hurts, I don't feel like eating”

He looked at her for a moment.

“Get dressed, we are heading to the hospital now”

The doctor ran some tests, they took her blood, full panel.

Cassius was sitting in the waiting room

Elbow on his knees, his eyes were on the floor.

“This is what should be happening to faith, why is it with Lydia?” He asked himself.

“Or did faith send it to Lydia?”

But the flower is not the same or is it that faith is playing with his mind or what?

The doctor came out.

Cassius rushed to his side “what's is wrong”

“Her result is unusual, something we can't specific explain”

“The pattern is puzzling”

“Puzzling how?”

“Like something external is affecting her system”

His hands went to his laps.

His mind drifted to faith, in her office, what I gave to someone came back to hit the wrong person.

“Doctor, is there anything we can do to make her stable for now”

“Come with me to my office, I need to discuss something with you”

“Okay, I will be with you shortly”

The doctor nodded as he walked away.

Cassius entered Lydia ward.

Lydia saw him and she sat up.

“What did the doctor said it's wrong with me, I was fine yesterday”

“Don't worry you will be fine, you need rest, I want to see the doctor then I will go get you something to eat”

She nodded, Cassius lay back the pillowcase and she lay down.

He exits the ward heading to the doctor's office.

Faith was resting in her office after the meeting and everything.

She had already told the HR to look for assistants.

But none have applied for now.

Her phone buzzed in her clutch..

She picked , it was her investigator.

“Lydia was admitted this morning”

Faith set down her pen slowly.

“Conditions”

“stable for now, but they haven't identified the cause yet”

“Keep monitoring”

She ended the call.

She remembered how the doctor could not identify hers back then.

She looked at the ceiling as fresh tears rolled down her eyes.

She is not crying because she is sad, she is crying because she could avoid it in this life.

Her phone buzzed. It was warren.

“how are you doing my wifey?”

Faith smiled at nothing.
