“Hell, no!”

A few patrons cast me the stink eye, reminding me where i stand, or sit, in a small family owned, sea food restaurant.

I had ushered Gunther out of the apartment as fast as I could, and when he offered to pay for the food, I only rejected once since my wallet and everything else was left in a hurry. Now I feel like I owe him something, I shouldn’t have eaten anything until I heard him out.

He looks around us, irritation lining his irises, shifting in his seat, clearly uncomfortable with the stares we were getting.

“Keep your voice down.”

“I can’t believe you, this is what you brought me out here to say?” My eyes are blazing, and I cannot seem to wrap my head around it.

“You can’t believe I brought you out here to scout you for my team?” he says drily, he relaxed into his seat, gaining confidence from where he must have hid it under his chair apparently. He crosses his arms, he looks at me with the calculated look of a business man, he may have lost his cool before, it wa

Is he Cinderella??That is most sane question I can ask myself as I literally crawled out of bed this morning, and because I couldn’t get any sleep the entire night, just as the sun peeked out of the clouds, I go for a run, because that and a detailed explanation from Christopher would be the only thing that could fix me. The run does help, surprisingly. Back at Saltwater, I exercised mainly because i had to if I wanted to keep my job, and also because I had nothing better to do, and since I got here, there was never really any need for it, who knew I would actually miss torturing my body. “Wow, I thought I would have to be the president to ever see you again.” Ash comments when my car crawls to a stop in front of her apartment.I am a stranger to norms and rules for friendships, but I knew even before she commented that it was an absolute shitty move to not call her or check on her after knowing she was drunk out of her mind the last time we spoke to each other. “You should ha

This must be how it feels to be where one’s soul resides. I think to myself as we exchange details of our day over dinner, an early dinner. He listened to me patiently, and not just listening, he actually listened, i could tell from his facial expressions, and how he watched me talk with rapt attention, even pausing his chewing sometimes as if it would interrupt my story telling. He rolls his eyes at Lady Rockbell, but I can tell it’s with fondness, he also looked amazed when I say she found her daughter. He tells me about his own day, a couple had gotten lucky and bought a mansion for cheap, and they were looking to flip it, he is particularly excited to work on it, since it was the town’s haunted house, and has been curious about the interior, he already has a few ideas he wants to use. His excitement is contagious, it runs down my spine excitedly as his voice washes over me. I watch as the sides of his eyes crinkle, he must really love the house, or the idea he has, and I th

A terse silence follow my words, seconded by a rude shock of what I had implied, what i told a woman already terrified of what her child thinks.“I am sorry, I didn’t mean that…”“Yes, you did.” she says leveling her gaze with me, her eyes are dry now, no trace of the woman that was just worried her daughter would reject her.“And it is well, deserved, no child should be made to feel unloved. Plus, you were talking about your own mother, and your own feelings.” she says getting to her feet. I swallow as I watch her gracefully return to Lady Rockbell, don’t get me wrong, i am happy that she has a human side, but I don’t think I can spend an entire day with Rosemary, but Lady Rockbell and her sharp words made me relax. “Yeah, I am certain your daughter would feel the warmth from you a mile away, you have nothing to fear.”She rolls her eyes as much as her face would let her, but I am glad she feels okay again.“Two miles, I am a very warm and loving person.”I chuckle, pleased that

I am shaking.Even with my eyes shut, I can tell that my entire body is shaking. Then I hear his whisper that brings my body to life. “Hey sleepyhead, it’s time to go.”His voice is deeper than usual, and I guess that’s why I can excuse waking up without further ado. The nap, since it was too short to be called an actual sleep, had been good, the best even. We made out before we slept, his kisses just the right amount of hungry and sweet, both of us content with what we received. Until he nuzzled me to sleep. He had gone to sleep right after I did, his perfect bed head sticking out everywhere now that he is stirring me awake.“We should have gone to bed sooner than we did.” I groan, needing more sleep.“Someone had been too excited to go to bed.”I roll my eyes at him, he too had been very excited last night, but sure, let’s all say it was just me. I push myself off the bed and unto his lap, he chuckles, and inhales, soaking up the last of our trip. “Twenty four is not enough.” I m

We both pause after that, the weight of his words sinking in. The sounds from the movie flutter through the speakers, the only sounds that could be heard from either of us. I turn towards the TV, my interest in the movie long gone, but there’s nothing else that seems appropriate. His words rang true, I had no idea what I was talking about, yet it hurt that he said them to me. We both don’t say anything until the movie is over, I had a feeling he was no longer interested in the movie himself. The food we hadn’t eaten had grown cold, my appetite dying out with the warmth. “You were right, I have no idea what I was saying.” I say when the silence pressed around us too much. The movie had finished long ago, and none of us moved from our spots, and I can feel the warmth from his body, yet I couldn’t lean into him. “I shouldn’t have said that.”“You were right, I should mind my business. And that is what I would do from now.”He sighs and pulls me to himself, and shamelessly, I melt into

He stares at me like I grew three heads. His movements are paused over the blankets he had been turning into something of a forte. I knew even before saying it that it was a bad idea, I shouldn’t have said anything, there’s nobody I have ever told that took the news well. “You don’t have to look at me like that.” I sigh, leaving him in room illuminated by the TV, and into the kitchenette, where the microwave beeped, the smell of freshly made popcorn filling the air. “There’s no way you’re actually serious. You hate Pepperoni on your pizza? Not pineapple?” he asks when I reenter the roo, he still has a look of shock on his face.I press my lips together, his shoulders slump, his eyes shake, and he struggles to get the word out. “Don’t tell me… you actually enjoy pineapple on your pizza?” he whispered the question in horror, his eyes beg me desperately. It is almost comical, his actions, I would burst out laughing if he didn’t grab my shoulders, spilling one or two from the popcor

“You said I was going to love it.” I pout.He chuckles before reaching up to kiss my mouth, I melt at his touch and when I lean in for more, he straightens. Raising a questioning brow at me. “Alec, I wanted to spend time with you, what were you thinking about?” he asks the question with wide eyed innocence that is pretentious and fake, but it makes me blush all the same. When he said I was going to love it, I expected some sort of… I don’t know… okay, I did know, I expected a replay of last night’s shenanigans. All I can think about is him inside of me again, the fullness of him, the way he filled me, stretched me. Goosebumps appear on my skin just thinking about it. “I also want to spend time with you.” I want to spend every single second of the day with you. I hold these thoughts inside of me, for some reason I am worried that this thought might be too much and it could quite possibly chase him away. He gives me a smile that melts my heart and the hard on i thought was never g

Turns out I should have taken my warning. The grounds-keeper's voice thunders behind us as I press harder on the pedal, and even at the top most speed, running away seemed like the better option. Christopher’s laugh bellows from beside me, loud and full of life. While my eyes keep straying behind me, waiting for the big man to appear.“I am glad you are having fun, where do I go next?” I say, alternating where I wanted to look, in front of us where a few guests were playing golf, or behind us, the direction of the big man.“Here, let me.” he says, switching our positions again. He had been driving the car, until he couldn’t take the staring, people were ogling his body and it was too much for him, I wouldn’t blame him, a few of them asked for his number already, and some went as far as throwing cash at him. He had rolled his eyes a lot until he asked me to take over the wheel for a while he wore another shirt. “As much as I didn’t appreciate others looking at you, I was enjoying th
