Rin helped his grandfather back to the room and noted his family all still standing around the end of the bed. Angie was hugging the tin of cookies to her chest like a lifeline. She didn’t look like she was going to give them up anytime soon. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her cheeks were red from all the crying she’d done. If he had to guess, she truly felt bad about popping their grandfather’s leg open like an oversized zit. She was frowning, crumbs on her chin and staring into space.
