Emily

I woke up to the smell of burnt toast and coffee. Sunlight sliced through the half-open blinds, painting stripes across the bed. Jack was already up, humming off-key in the kitchen like nothing had ever been wrong between us.

I slipped out of bed, pulled on one of his old T-shirts, and padded downstairs barefoot. He stood at the kitchen in boxers and a wrinkled tee, scraping charred edges off bread with a butter knife.

He glanced over his shoulder when he heard me. His face lit up, he flashed me a warm smile, almost boyish.

“Morning, beautiful. Last night was… mind-blowing.”

Of course the only reason he would make breakfast for me is because of last night’s mind blowing sex. I crossed the room, rose on my toes, and kissed him slow. “Glad you enjoyed it.”

He grinned against my mouth, then turned back to the pan. “Toasts. Nothing fancy. Figured we could start the day easy.”

I slumped into a chair at the table. Watched him plate the slightly blackened bread, add jam, and pour coffee into a cup.

When he set the plate in front of me, I picked up a piece, tore off a corner, but didn’t eat. “Isn’t it time I met your family?”

He froze mid-pour. Coffee sloshed over the rim. “I already told you, Em. They’re shitty people. Never believed in me. Never supported the business, the dreams, nothing. We’re better off without them.”

I looked up at him, keeping my expression firm. “I still think it’s important. Especially now. In this new phase of our life.”

He set the pot down and stared at me confused. “What new phase?”

I reached into the pocket of the T-shirt where I’d tucked the pregnancy test last night after he fell asleep, and threw it across the table.

Two pink lines stared up at him.

His eyes widened. “You mean… this is real?”

I smiled, placing my hand on my belly. “Read between the lines, babe.”

He let out a whoop that rattled the windows. Dropped to his knees in front of my chair, wrapped his arms around my waist, buried his face in my stomach. “Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you—”

I stroked his hair. Let him yell his joy into my shirt. I’d always wanted kids. Always. The miscarriage had carved that want into desperation. But this? This wasn’t about kids. Not anymore.

I steered him gently back to the topic. “So… your family. Your parents. They should know they’re going to be grandparents.”

He exhaled, still kneeling. “I’ll… think about it. Promise.”

His phone rang on the counter, he glanced at the screen, his expression shifting immediately.

“Shit. One of the investors. Emergency call.” He stood, already reaching for it. “I’m sorry, babe. Can’t do breakfast. We’ll celebrate properly tonight, I’ll order dinner.”

He kissed me quick on the forehead, like I was fragile cargo, raced upstairs to put on some clothes and came down a few minutes later fully dressed, he muttered an apology again, then grabbed his keys, and was out the door before I could answer.

The second the lock clicked, I swept both plates into the trash. Untouched toast. Untouched coffee. Untouched performance.

I picked up my phone to call Maira, then shook my head. No. I needed to see her face when I said it.

Twenty minutes later I was at her door, heart hammering louder than my knock.

She opened it in an oversized T-shirt and sleep shorts, hair messy, eyes still heavy with morning. We stared at each other for a long beat, neither speaking, just breathing the same air.

Then she smiled. “Em. What are you doing here?”

“You said if I need you…” I swallowed. “Well, I do need you.”

She stepped aside. I walked in. She locked the door behind me with a soft snick.

I sat on her couch, it looked similar to mine, the same one where she’d taken me apart last night.

“Breakfast?”

I shook my head, remembering how I trashed Jack’s food earlier.

She disappeared into the kitchen, came back with two plates: scrambled eggs, toast, sliced avocado. She handed me one and beside me.

We ate in silence, holding each other’s gaze until she shifted uncomfortably, parting her lips to speak, “what is it Em?”

I set my fork down, took a deep breath before I let the words spill. “Have you always been bisexual?”

She raised an eyebrow. “Who says I am—”

“A lesbian then.” My voice was steady despite my wracking nerves. “Have you always been a lesbian?”

Maira laughed, and it just… kept going. Seconds stretched, then piled into nearly a minute before she finally slowed.. “Sexuality isn’t something I think about too deep, Em. Labels are exhausting.”

“But with what happened—”

“So?”

I met her eyes. “Have you always felt that way about me?”

“No.” She said it so confidently it almost hurt. “I’ve only ever seen you as a friend. Nothing more. I was just… there. When you needed someone. And what’s wrong with experimenting?”

“So you used me.”

She tilted her head. “More like I gave you what you needed in the moment. Besides, if there was using, we used each other.” She winked.

My gaze lingered on her lips as she spoke, my senses dulled, I stood up and suddenly Crossed the small space between us. Without thinking, I stopped right in front of her chair. Still fixated on her lips. “In that case, can you use me again?”

Her eyes darkened. She reached up, hooked a finger in the neck of my shirt, pulled me down. The kiss was immediate, no preamble. Clothes came off fast, my shirt yanked over my head, her T-shirt tossed to the floor, both our shorts dragged down our thighs. We stumbled, landed on the couch in a tangle of limbs. Her mouth was everywhere, my neck, breasts, stomach then lower. I arched when her tongue found me again, fingers curling inside at the same rhythm that had wrecked me before. I came fast, shuddering, loud, clutching her hair like a lifeline.

She climbed back up, straddled me, guided my hand between her legs. I touched her the way she’d touched me, tentative at first, then bolder when she moaned my name. We moved together, grinding, kissing, fingers and mouths fighting for dominance until we both came at the same time, I felt my pussy clench as the orgasm rippled through me. After, we lay there, sweaty, hearts racing, her head on my chest.

When I finally caught my breath, I turned her face towards me. “What are we doing?” I whispered.

She traced lazy circles on my stomach. “Fucking.”

I giggled so hard I felt my chest hurt, Maria mirrored my laughter, mimicking me at some point. When we both quieted, I caressed her cheek with my thumb “I’m going to see Jack’s parents this weekend.”

She propped herself on an elbow. “Finally. So they exist.”

I nodded.

“What made him change his mind?”

“The pregnancy.”

She shrieked, half-laugh, half-horror. “You’re pregnant? We just—”

“I’m not.” I smiled. “I showed him the old tests. From before the miscarriage. Let him believe.”

Maira stared at me for a long second. Then she laughed, deep, delighted. “Wow, Em. I didn’t know you had it in you. That’s pure evil.”

I grinned. “I haven’t even begun yet.”

When I got home, Jack’s car was already in the driveway. It was odd to see him arrive this early.

He was in the living room, pacing. He looked up when I walked in. “Where’ve you been?”

“Went to see Maira.”

His brow furrowed. “Does she know?”

“Of course not. I wouldn’t tell family business to a stranger.”

He relaxed a fraction, scrunching his nose as he a niffed the air. “You reek of her perfume. Thought maybe you two were hugging and crying or something.”

I smiled. Memories of her mouth, her fingers, her laugh still hummed under my skin. “Something like that.”

He stepped closer. “I have a surprise.”

“What?” I tried not to sound uninterested.

He pulled two plane tickets from his pocket. Held them up like trophies.

“We’re going to see my family.”

I looked at the tickets. Then at him. I jumped into his arms. Let him hug me tight. “Perfect,” I murmured against his shoulder.

He had no idea what was waiting for him there.

Neither did his family.

But I did.

And it thrilled me.

Jack held my arm, gazing at me seductively. “Can we have another episode of last night?”

I smiled at him, letting the lie slip easily off my tongue. “Of course, my husband.”

EmilyI bit my lip, trying to hold on to the last thin thread of sanity before his mouth crashed onto mine. His hand slid up into my hair, fingers threading through the strands and holding me in place as he kissed me like a man starved. Every stroke of his tongue, every press of his lips carried years of held back hunger. He drank from me with a intensity that made my knees weak, every ounce of fire in him pouring straight into me.“You have no idea, Em,” he whispered in the brief seconds he pulled away just enough to breathe, his forehead resting against mine. “How long I’ve waited to feel this. To feel you.”My heart twisted at the raw pain in his voice. I could see it clearly, he had been suffering the same way I had, carrying the same ache for years. I wanted to take it from him. I wanted to give him everything. My hands moved over the hard planes of his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart under my palms. I trailed lower, over the ridged muscles of his stomach, until my fin

  • Dangerous Allure   Karma Can Be Delayed

Emily“I know what you did last night.”A ripple of panic tore through me as I stared at the message. My phone shook with the intensity of my fear, but I still managed to keep it still in my hands.I carefully turned my eyes in the direction of Tammy and Jack. A brief moment of relief washed over me as I realized they were both still fast asleep. I scanned the number thoroughly, from the country code to the last digit, as if that would somehow provide me with information on who had sent it.Think, Emily, I urged myself. It was clear someone had seen Zane and me last night. But if they were so concerned, why had they resorted to childish tactics to get their point across? Why not just reveal it to everyone?I knew it wasn’t too late to walk away from this. I could run back to New York and send the divorce papers to Jack. Even if he found out about my actions and chose to use them against me, I had something against him, too, something that, if nothing else, would allow us to settle for

  • Dangerous Allure   Danger and Release

Emily’s Pov I paced the bedroom, my head throbbed so intensely, I wish I could just numb it for a while. Every few seconds, I stopped, pressed my palm against my forehead, and stared towards the open bathroom door. I hadn’t even had the presence of mind to grab my phone and snap a photo of the red light when it happened. By the time I had dragged myself out of the bathtub, thrown on my clothes, and forced my trembling legs back into that bathroom to secure proof, the tiny red dot was dead. Someone was playing a sick, sadistic game with me. Toying with my sanity like a cat playing with a cornered mouse. And I knew without a shadow of a doubt who held the strings. Beatrice had rushed out earlier to take Tammy to the hospital, and Nicole had gone along to help. Jack was still somewhere in town, supposedly running errands for the house. There were no housekeepers, no groundskeepers walking the halls. It was just me and Zane. I couldn't stay inside those four walls another second. I

  • Dangerous Allure   Cat and Mouse

Emily’s Pov I bolted out of the bathroom like the room itself had caught fire, throwing my weight on the bed and slamming my hands onto Jack’s shoulders. “Jack! Wake up! Jack!” He stirred groggily, mumbling something incoherent as he tried to swat my hands away and roll back on his stomach. The helplessness of the moment boiled over, and I let a scream tear out of my throat, shaking him with every ounce of strength I had left. That finally broke his slumber. Jack snapped awake, his eyes wide and disoriented as he sat up, grabbing my wrists. “What? Emily, what is it? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?” He gripped my arms, frantically searching my face, his sudden panic making my head spin even worse. “In the bathroom...” I breathed, my chest heaving so hard I could barely form the words. “I think... I think there’s a camera in there.” Jack blinked, his hands loosened slightly on my arms. Confusion washed over his face, quickly followed by skepticism. “A camera? Emily, I highly doubt

  • Dangerous Allure   Ripple Effect

Zane’s Pov I sat on the closed lid of the toilet, my laptop balanced on my thighs, as Emily’s live feed filled the screen in unforgiving detail. I had installed the hidden camera long before Jack’s arrival, a simple security measure for visitors, nothing more. I had never intended to watch the feed unless something went wrong. But with Jack’s arrival and my growing fixation on Emily, I had forgotten to remove it. Now, it felt like a stroke of twisted luck. I could watch her. And every night, she never failed to entertain me. Right now, she was sitting on the edge of the bathtub with her nightgown shoved up around her waist, her legs spread wide, the vibrator buried deep while her free hand worked tight circles over her clit. Every broken moan she made came through the speakers as crisp and clear as if she were in the room with me. I turned the volume up just enough to catch the wet slickness of the toy sliding in and out of her, along with the little hitch in her breath every time

  • Dangerous Allure   There’s Always A First Time

Emily’s Pov I quickly pulled away, screaming, until the sound jolted me awake. I woke up sweating like I had run a marathon. I checked the clock and realized it was only three in the morning. Turning toward Jack’s side of the bed, I saw him sleeping soundly. In my hazy, half-awake state, I scanned the dark room for any sign of intrusion, but the bedroom door was firmly locked and the windows were shut tight. A slick wetness between my thighs served as an undeniable reminder of the dream. Lifting the covers, I took in the evidence of what my mind had just put me through. Propping my head in my hand, I cursed under my breath. This whole situation was killing me. How could Zane take over my mind and body so completely without even trying? Quietly, I climbed out of bed and tiptoed towards my bag. Rummaging through it, I retrieved the bright pink vibrator Maria had cheekily slipped into my luggage while I was packing. Speaking of Maria, it would have been nice to have her around right

  • Dangerous Allure   One Complicated Afternoon

Jack That morning, the house was full of family noise, Mom banging around in the kitchen, my sisters arguing over who got the last pancake, Dad reading the newspaper like he always did. Emily was still upstairs sleeping. I kissed her forehead before heading down, but she barely stirred. She’d bee

  • Dangerous Allure   Wet Visit

Emily The plane landed with a gentle thud that jolted me back to the present. Jack was already unbuckling, reaching for the overhead bin before the seatbelt sign even dinged off. “I’ve got it, babe,” he said, voice low like I might shatter if he spoke too loud. “You just sit. No lifting. Docto

  • Dangerous Allure   Control

Emily I closed the door on Andrea, and the lock clicked like the final nail in a coffin. For a second, everything held still, but then the dam broke. I fell to the floor right there in the entryway, knees to my chest, face buried in my arms. The sobs came hard and ugly, tearing up from somewhe

  • Dangerous Allure   Just Like This

Emily I couldn’t breathe properly. Not since the moment Maira’s finger had pressed against my lips. The wine had turned my limbs heavy and my thoughts slippery, but it hadn’t blurred the line between us, not until her mouth was suddenly on mine. Her lips were soft. Softer than I expected. She
