Micheal’s POV

The antiseptic smell of the hospital was suffocating, seeping into every breath like a sterile poison.

I sat in a stiff plastic chair in the waiting room, its edge biting into the back of my legs.

Henry was curled into a trembling ball against my chest, his small hands clutching my shirt in desperate fists. Each hiccuping sob that wracked his body cut through me like a blade.

“She’s gone,” he whispered again and again into my shirt, his voice so small, so heartbreakingly fragile. “She’s really gone…”

I smoothed his hair, my palm shaking.

Words felt useless—small, empty things that could never bridge the ocean of grief drowning this child.

All I could do was hold him tighter, a fragile shield against a world that had just shattered around him.

Across from us sat Fernando, as if grief and tragedy were beneath him. His dark eyes were unreadable, as cold and polished as a heartless monster.

Next to him stood Marlo, his massive hands clasped in front of him, his face imp

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   The Sound of His Breathing

Michael’s POVThe ambulance lights blinked ahead like angry gods screaming warnings. Red, white light were flashing continuously against the street as the back doors slammed closed.“Move! Let’s go!” one of the EMTs shouted. We were already running.Me, Marlo, Mortis and Emilio. All of us entered inside Fernando’s car with urgency. Marlo floored the accelerator, tires shrieking as we followed the ambulance like desperate shadows chasing a fading light.Inside the car, no one spoke. There was no need to.The silence was unbearable.I stared out the windshield, but I wasn’t seeing the road. I was seeing him. Fernando with blood soaking his side. That stubborn fire in his eyes. The way he had collapsed after firing that one goddamn shot at the sniper. That was all it took to crack me.“You don’t get to die on me,” I muttered under my breath, so low none of them heard it.My hands were clenched so tight my knuckles ached. Every bone in my body buzzed with panic. It wasn’t just adrenaline

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Fire in My Bones

Fernando’s POVPain is a strange thing.Sometimes it screams through every nerve like a storm caught fire. Other times, it creeps in silent—like smoke curling under a door. Right now, it was both. Screaming, creeping, and drowning me.The bullet wound in my side pulsed like a second heartbeat, one that didn’t belong and for some reason it felt like I wasn’t in my own body.I had to steady myself, not succumbing to the pain threatening to tear me apart. The taste of copper sat heavy on my tongue and I tried to swallow it down, but my throat was as dry as the sand in a desert. I couldn’t tell if the wetness dripping past my lips was sweat… or blood.I blinked. The ceiling of Ashley’s apartment came into view but it was like it was spinning.Everything around me was muffled, like I was underwater, but I could hear the voices of everyone around me, trying to bring me back to my senses.“…Fernando—”“…he’s bleeding out—”“…Oh my God—”“…Michael, do something!”I tried to speak but I cou

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Blood on my hands

Archer's POV The low hum of jet engines vibrated under my shoes as my men moved like shadows, hauling my custom leather trunks, garment bags, and polished silver cases into my private jet. Their faces were sharp with precision, eyes trained and movements calculated—just the way I liked it. I didn’t hire men who asked questions. I stood at the base of the stairs, my hands buried in the pockets of my dark tailored coat, watching with detached amusement as if this was all part of some movie I wasn’t really invested in. The air was thick with heat and jet fuel. It smelled like wealth, power and escape. Harold stood beside me, rigid as ever in his gray three-piece suit, the wind barely ruffling his snowy hair. He was my butler, my confidante and my conscience, when I chose to have one. He was the only person in the world who dared to look me in the eyes and frown. And right now, he was frowning so hard it looked like his face was going to crack in two. "You shouldn't have done i

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Bullets and Broken Trust

Michael's POV The sharp scent of gunpowder still clung to the air. Smoke drifted lazily from the open window where Fernando had fired. His body remained tense, his arm rigid and outstretched as if frozen in time, the barrel of his pistol still aimed at the shattered window pane. Then, slowly—deliberately—he lowered the gun. The echo of the shot still rang in my ears, a ghost of sound lingering like the high-pitched wail of trauma. I blinked, trying to focus as reality caught up with me. We were alive. We were still breathing. For now. Ashley was pressed against the floor, her cheek streaked with dust and fear, while I held Henry tight against my chest, my hand cupping the back of his head. His small fists were balled into my shirt like he was trying to hold on to something real—something safe. Fernando turned around, exhaling hard as his shoulders dropped. He looked at us—at Ashley, at me, and especially at Henry. His eyes softened just slightly when they landed on the

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Through the Crosshairs

Fernando’s POV Michael had always been the calm one. The anchor. The man with iron veins and a voice like a soothing balm. But in this moment, crouched on the floor of the living room with Henry wrapped tightly in his arms, I saw something else flicker behind his eyes. It was fear. Not for himself. But for the boy trembling against his chest. Henry’s small hands clutched Michael’s shirt with a desperation that cut through me sharper than the sniper’s bullet had cut through the quiet. Henry was silent now, but I could still hear the echo of his scream ringing in my ears. My heart slammed against my ribs like a caged beast. I remained crouched low, my back pressed against the cold wall, my body hidden just beside the window. I hadn’t dared to move since that last shot was fired. “Shh,” Michael murmured to Henry, his voice low and warm. “It’s okay, champ. I’ve got you. You’re safe now. I won’t let anything happen to you.” Henry hiccupped. “But—there was a gun… someone sho

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   A Silence Too Loud

Michael’s POV The sun wasn’t even up when Nick left the apartment. Now, it was nearly noon, and I was pacing the living room with my phone pressed to my ear for the seventh time that morning. "Come on, Nick… pick up." But all I got was his voicemail. Again. Frustration burned in my chest, just a notch below the dull ache still blooming along my upper arm where Archer’s bullet had grazed me last night. I wasn’t even supposed to be involved in any of that. None of us were. Especially not Nick. But now—thanks to Archer’s ambush, Fernando’s big mouth, and a goddamn misunderstanding—I had to sit here and wonder what Nick must be thinking. What he must be feeling. And the worst part? I couldn’t even reach him to explain. I let out a low groan and ran a hand through my tangled hair, stopping in the middle of the room. On the couch, Henry was curled up in his favourite throw blanket, laughing at a loud cartoon with wide, animated eyes and clumsy talking animals. He didn’t know
