I followed Michael toward the restroom, watching the tension in his shoulders, the way his fists clenched and unclenched at his sides like he was barely holding himself together.

It excited me.

I had always liked seeing him like this—angry, frustrated, barely keeping control.

He was trying so hard to act like he had the upper hand, like he wasn’t affected, but I could feel the energy radiating off him.
