Chapter 4: Detect Thief

Ivan looked at Jennifer, stepping closer to her step by step. Cold, death suddenly filled the room. Jennifer didn't dare move, just sitting there looking at him like that. Ivan lowered his body and calmly spoke.

"It's best if you tell the truth, if I find out you're lying, your life will definitely not be intact."

Ivan grabbed the dart on the nightstand, he aimed precisely at the target on the wall. The dart stably pierced the heart. Jennifer was terrified, her face white as she nodded repeatedly. Jennifer, fortunately, escaped death but had to stay here, unable to return home.

She had once intended to run away, but the last glimmer of hope was also extinguished. Outside the countless bodyguards dressed in black standing guard, the number was terrifying, how could Jennifer escape the strength of those men to step through this gate.

Looking at the huge castle in front of her, Jennifer sighed, she continued the tree pruning work in her hands. She has now become the maid of this castle, all tasks such as cleaning or cooking are done by herself. Jennifer felt very strange, since she had come here she had not seen a woman at all.

Ivan also rarely left the castle, usually, several men would come to report to him.

“Jennifer, are you used to living here?”

Jennifer was surprised, didn't expect it to be Kate. She hadn't seen him in a week, she thought he wouldn't come back here again.

"I'm used to it, too."

“Good then. Here you have to be careful, don't talk and act rudely, the boss will definitely not be happy."

Jennifer nodded, which she knew very well. She affirmed that Ivan is not a simple person, behind him, there is a huge power of status.

"Then I'll go first," Kate said goodbye to Jennifer and then disappeared. Jennifer sighed, having lived here for a week, the person she talked to the most was probably Kate.

This large castle was full of dangers everywhere, she did not dare to wander. Ivan also seemed to disappear, he didn't give her any trouble anymore. At night, Jennifer was about to fall asleep when a black shadow appeared very quickly at the window and then disappeared, she was startled to sit up to see clearly, but that black shadow had disappeared.

Jennifer curiously did not know what it was, she groped and followed. Arriving in a room, Jennifer finally caught up with that black shadow, she panicked when she saw that the lightbulb was a sealed person, still holding a gun. Jennifer covered her mouth, trying not to let out a frightened cry.

Isn't there a lot of people guarding the outside, how could this person infiltrate all the way here. So what was that person's purpose, Jennifer could assert, whatever the purpose, it was not very good.

Jennifer hid to the side and watched him move. He seemed to have prepared well, breaking the key to enter a room. Jennifer had never set foot in this area, so she didn't know what the thief was doing in this room.

She wanted to inform someone but didn't know how, he had a gun in his hand, if he accidentally attacked her, she would surely die. Jennifer continued to follow the thief step by step, he acted very quickly. Jennifer saw him open a mirror then take all the gems inside and put them in his pocket after he put something inside. The thief left as if nothing had happened. Jennifer bit her lip, what did he steal this for, if let him get out of here wouldn't his plan work? Hesitation urged Jennifer constantly, seeing the thief about to jump through the window, Jennifer couldn't help but scream. "There's a thief, there's a thief."

Immediately the whole castle seemed to turn on, lights and alarm bells began to ring, and the bodyguard quickly raised his gun toward the thief. The thief was angry and did not expect that he was only one step away from success, but was discovered by Jennifer, he angrily pointed the gun at Jennifer.

The blood in Jennifer's body seemed to be frozen, her limbs were stiff and unable to move. The muzzle of the gun pointed straight at her as if announcing an impending death.

"If you want to die, I'll let you die, you damn brat." The thief began to pull the trigger, and at that moment Jennifer seemed to let her fate, she gently closed her eyes to receive.

But not as painful as she thought, everything was unusually quiet. Jennifer quickly opened her eyes. Before the thief could pull the trigger, Ivan's bullet pierced his hand, he painfully clutched his left arm.

Ivan walked proudly step by step, his indifferent expression did not change much, but his eyes revealed that life was not as good as dead.

"You are so brave, you dare to steal things here."

"If you're good, then kill me." The thief laughed scornfully. Ivan didn't answer him, he walked over to Jennifer, who had just woken up.

"Careful," Jennifer shouted.

The thief suddenly attacked and pointed the gun at Ivan, fortunately, he quickly pulled Jennifer aside, the bullet grazed his shoulder and crashed into the wall. Ivan's subordinates immediately opened fire, less than two seconds on the thief's body was covered with fresh blood.

"Save his life."

Ivan coldly spoke up. The thief was so badly injured that he was dragged into a room to be questioned.
