“Do what?” Farrah smiled, crossing her arms on her chest.
Olivia paused, “Fight. Do you guys fight a lot?”
Fighting? Farrah shook her head as an answer. Back when DaeDae wasn't there yet, they used to fight a lot due to some minor disagreements. Ferdinand used to be their pacifier, and only when their son was born that fights and disagreements ceased to exist. They found out the fighting would lead them and their relationship to doom, so both of them decided that it is better for them to talk in calm manner than raise their voices over each other like competing who's louder.
It also teached Farrah a lot of things, especially that day where she thought Dior would hit her when he raised his hand while they're in the middle of arguing. She didn't know what happened, she simply thought Dior would hit her when he raise his hand so she unconsciously raised her arm to cover her face, neck shrinking.
She remembered how stunned
It was midnight when a call woke Ferdinand from his shallow sleep. Groaningly sitting up, he glanced at the clock and saw it was only 3 AM in the morning. It seems that the called has been calling him since 5 hours ago, and there's already a hundred of missed calls. Puzzled, he checked the number and realized it was unknown.Too stressed these past few days, he couldn't help feeling irked, but he thought it was from work so he didn't say anything and just called back.It rang a few seconds, before a baritone voice sounded from the speaker.[Hello. Is it you, Pa?] The voice sounded raspy, as if the owner had just woken up, but the moment it registered to Ferdinand's mind, he almost threw the phone at the wall in shock. It couldn't be...Ferdinand gulped, his hands trembling as his eyes turned watery, turning red because of mixed emotions.“..
Ferdinand was restless for some reason he couldn't explain. As if something was about to happen, seeing his expression, Eden couldn't stand it any longer. “You looked a mess, uncle. Shouldn't you be happy Farrah and her husband's alive? Why look bothered?” She too have heard about the news of Farrah and Dior being alive. At first, she thought Ferdinand had gone mad due to grief, but when she heard the recording of the call from the night before, she immediately burst into tears. She was beyoned overjoyed. Farrah's her best friend, she's almost like a sister to her and the news of her passing threw her off that she couldn't work for several days. She thought about Farrah's unfortunate luck, and couldn't help crying again several times. Now that she's actually alive and kicking, Eden was puzzled seeing Ferdinand's downcast expression. Ferdinand sighed. “Of course... I am happy, ve
B City Base has recovered after the zombie escape incident several months ago. The Laboratory has been renovated and the equipments has been upgraded. The research is still on it's middle stage, unable to make progress due to certain mysterious factors that is absent and can't be determined. Ferdinand returned to his old job and continued non-stop calculations, experimentations, and trials. Though it never really had a huge leap, they weren't discouraged.Hundred years ago when several virus broke out, it also took people a long time before they could come up with something to fight against it, countless trial and errors, not to mention endless sleepless nights people did just to save thousands of people.Ferdinand knew they weren't far from success, and there's one big factor they needed to discover before they could take another step with the research.Study the strongest zombie, and extract their special blood. Study
The chase finally commenced. Farrah wasn't surprised when everything went into this direction. The moment she discovered Dior's transformation, she knew this kind of scenario will happen. She wasn't afraid. She was calm, extremely calm that it was so surprising. If it was others who's in these kind of situation, they'll probably break down in moment now. They been running for several days, and it's getting tough as day passes by. There's also helicopters flying everywhere in the sky, military cars in every highways, a voice coming from a megaphone repeatedly calling for them to surrender, and the cries of the restless undead.Farrah gasped, drinking water as she glanced at the small hole on the wall, observing the flying aircrafts patroling the area.“How can we escape without being seen by these aircrafts?” She eventually asked, still panting.Dior blinked, but didn't answer immediately. Truth to be told, he was also tired after running
It was getting harder and harder to move unnoticed, there's people tracking them down, and even though they try so hard to escape in fast speed, it seems that fate is really against them now.Hiding behind the tall grasses, Farrah frowned as she gazed upon the unresting helicopters surveying the areas. “How could there be so many helicopters?” She didn't dare assume that their country has this many aircrafts, she couldn't help but to doubt. It's making her feeling irked because it's limiting their possible escape routes.“The higher ups probably asked neighboring countries for help, I'm now the greatest threat to everyone after all.” Dior smiled self-deprecatingly, but there's no fear in his face. Looking at the exhausted Farrah, he sighed in distress. “Fae, come here, eat first. You haven't eaten since yesterday... If this continues, you'll gonna die not because of these people but because of starvation.&
Dior used zombies to as deterrence to their chasers, and though he didn't order them to attack humans, it is no longer in his control if the zombies attacks them. If they're really pushed into a situation where he needs to mobilize zombies, then he will not hesitate. They have escaped several cities now, with no intended direction. They both knew that if they continously go to one direction, it is likely that they would get ambushed or cornered. It took one and half day before they arrived at the most populated city of the country—N City.N City is known for its countless trip destinations, commercial districts, residential, logistics area, and many more. People used to call this place jack of all trades, because this is a city that seems to be so complete. Everything can be seen here, and people used to love this place so much. But that was before. When the outbreak happened, this place became one of t
The sky was dark and brimming with gloomy atmopshere, coupled with the chilly wind that can wake goosebumps upon skins. Even though it doesn't rain, the sun refused to go out, and the temperature dropped ever since yesterday.Any time by now, the rain will fall and it will certainly be a heavy downpour. The Governess stared at the sky by the window, and kneaded her forehead. She's so tired already, so is her men, but even a single sign of the monarch can't be found. If she didn't saw the recording handed by Major General Castro and felt the fluctuation of a sinister and domineering energy from T City, she would say that the monarch didn't really exist. The only proof that he exist is the peculiar behaviors of the undead hordes that either blocks road, or attacks them directly. It was a great comfort that they weren't blindly chasing. It seems that the monarch's not far away and just hiding tightly that no one can s
Gripping his hands tightly, Farrah and Dior stared at each others eyes. Both of them doesn't know whether they made the right decision or not, but since it's here, they can no longer step back and regret what they had chosen.“Are you ready?” Farrah asked, voice trembling slightly. She felt her throat constrict, and her chest tightening. Dior noticed it and kissed his forehead.“I'm ready. Let's go?” He calmly replied. Smiling, Farrah nodded at him. Both of them walked towards the exit of the building steps by steps, fingers entangled with each other. Each breath represent their emotions, even some kind of anticipation. Anticipation that they would no longer run, and this would be the start of dawn not only for them, but for the whole human population. The roaring wind caused by the propellers swept through the land, throwing dust everywhere coupled with the pungent smell of decomposing bodi
