Chapter 373

Author: Tightrope
Betty was suddenly at a loss for words. She glared at Jayson for a long moment, but no words came out.

Jayson didn't speak harshly. After making himself clear, he smiled lightly, and his tone grew gentle once again. "Alright, Grandma. Let me take you home. That's enough for tonight. I'll handle my own business."

It was a clear signal that he wouldn't let Betty interfere any further.

Betty parted her lips. "You…"

But no words followed.

She slapped his hand away. "I don't need you here! Go be with Ari!"

Jayson glanced at the fuming Betty. With one hand casually tucked in his pocket, he gave a helpless shake of his head and chuckled.

Matt and Perry approached, one after the other. They hadn't overheard the conversation, so they looked puzzled.

"Why would Mr. Spencer ask that out of the blue? If the truth really came out, Nancy would get torn apart by the gossip."

Jayson didn't answer. It was hard to tell what he was thinking.

Perry looked at Matt, then slowly turned to Jayson. A

She dealing with this S well as his cancer diagnosis. There is only so much a person can take. She really should be worshipped by others especially those who look down in her including his family. Betty isn’t helping the situation either. Is she completely oblivious to news headlines

I I couldn’t agree more with you both. I think this author likes the fl being weak. I don’t get Jayson why doesn’t he just tell betty the truth that he is divorced and not drag this out with Ariel by her not been able to admit she was married to him but he can’t flaunt himself in front of her.

I agree. it seems like the author's enjoyment of devastating Ariel has gone a bit to far. if Ariel is as intelligent as the author implies, the story should support those strengths. save the additional drama for another book. this is why books over 300 chapters are never completed by readers.

Janice understood the meaning behind Alicia's words immediately. Her eyes dimmed slightly, and a strange bittersweet feeling stirred inside her.Wade glanced at Alicia. "How are you getting home?"Alicia smiled. "The driver's waiting. He can take me home. Don't worry."Ariel knew then that Wade would be spending the evening with Janice. She looked over at Janice, who quietly clenched her fists to calm herself.Ariel felt a sudden pang of sympathy. She reached out and ruffled Janice's hair, whispering, "Figure out how you feel on your own. You two can talk tonight."Only Janice could feel whether Wade was suitable for her.Even if Ariel, as an onlooker, could tell that Wade might not be all that enthusiastic, Janice's feelings were real. It wasn't something that could be dismissed with a few words.Janice didn't quite understand.Chad stepped forward. When he noticed the hope in Janice's expression, his gaze darkened as he said, "Call me if anything comes up, okay?"Janice wave

Elsie focused on the ring on Ariel's hand and said, "I remember years ago, maybe four years back, I went to an auction in Fiorvell with my dad. This ring was the final highlight of the auction."Ariel immediately glanced at Jayson sitting beside her. He met her gaze calmly.Elsie continued, "I loved it at the time, so I remembered many people wanted it. I think the final price was… 110 million dollars."Ariel almost choked. She looked down at the ring on her hand, then back at Jayson, stunned. How much was it?"This ring has quite a history," Elsie went on. "It's a one-of-a-kind piece by a top Fleubian jeweler from a century ago. It was insanely expensive. At the auction, they said it had ended up in a museum."The jeweler had designed it in the name of love. It's incredibly meaningful, and a few versions of the story circulated widely back then. It was only a few years ago that it was brought out again, renamed 'Devotion' for auction, and fetched that astronomical price.Elsie

Elsie, ever blunt, snorted. "So now you're jealous and fighting with me for Ariel? Why not care about your fiance sitting next to another woman?"That was a deadly verbal chokehold.Janice froze instantly. Her expression stiffened.Elsie realized too late that her mouth had run ahead of her brain. Panic written all over her face, she glanced between Ariel and Janice. "Hey, I didn't mean it…"She had just been watching from the side, picking up on some vibes. When she heard Alicia say "fiancee", she had naturally connected the dots.Even Chad, who hadn't said a word about any of this, paused for a moment. His gaze landed on Janice.Thankfully, Janice was only ever half-baked at everything except pretending to stay calm. She waved her hand. "It's no big deal."Ariel pressed her lips together and silently raised her gaze toward Alicia and Wade. This time, the discussion focused on several aspects of the aircraft's performance. They spent nearly half an hour going over the next st

Alicia noticed the bright smile on Janice's face. She beamed as she held out the carefully chosen gifts, waiting for Janice to accept them. But her words cut into Janice's heart like a knife.Janice subconsciously glanced at Wade, who stood just behind Alicia. It turned out he had forgotten her birthday. Somehow, it had ended up with Alicia preparing a gift on Wade's behalf.Even after a while, Janice still didn't reach out to take the gifts.Alicia looked puzzled and slightly embarrassed. Glancing around awkwardly, she asked in a soft voice, "Do you not like them?"Wade immediately sensed Alicia's discomfort. After all, she had gone to the trouble of picking out those gifts, and Janice's hesitation was making things awkward. He looked at Janice. "Allie spent a lot of time choosing those. You should take them. She even prepared one on my behalf."Moreover, he didn't want Alicia to feel embarrassed in front of everyone. Ariel frowned slightly. To her, Wade's words sounded like

It was Janice's birthday today. Since they had to deal with work first, they could only plan her birthday celebration later in the day.Janice subconsciously nodded, and then her eyes lit up as a thought crossed her mind. Ariel caught on immediately and raised a brow. "That's right—your fiance is back. Have you two made any plans?"Janice shook her head, her expression dimming. "I haven't heard from him. I'm not even sure if he remembers my birthday."Before Wade went abroad, he used to celebrate Janice's birthday with her every year.Ariel patted her lightly on the head. "He will. Anyway, he's back in Croinia now. Even if he did forget, just remind him and tell him you want to celebrate together."Janice's face brightened. "You're right! It's Sunday anyway—he must be free."Ariel smiled, amused by how quickly Janice's mood turned cheerful again."Have all the guests arrived?" Ariel asked.Janice shook her head. "Nope, but Chad is already talking to some of them in the room."

Anyone could tell there would be consequences for the stunt certain board members had pulled during the recent board meeting. When Jayson arrived at the office, he happened to run into Shane, who was there on business.Shane instinctively averted his gaze before glancing at Jayson. "Jayson, are you feeling better now?"Jayson entered the elevator. "Thanks for your concern. I've pretty much achieved full recovery.""I didn't get the chance to visit you at the hospital. I've been really busy lately. I hope you don't mind."Shane spoke as if nothing had happened during Jayson's absence.Jayson turned the wedding ring on his finger slowly. His tone was flat. "I understand how busy you are, of course. After all, it must be difficult to gain more power and secure more projects when I'm around."The smile on Shane's face froze, and a cold glint flashed in his eyes.Jayson acted as if he hadn't noticed. His calm voice carried a subtle edge. "You might not be up to date with what's bee
