Nancy suddenly found herself reduced to a mere onlooker, watching a scene that stabbed straight at her chest.

For a moment, she felt like she might choke on her own anger.

It had always been Ariel watching her stand by Jayson's side.

She suddenly understood why Jayson hadn't come out to meet her. Surely Ariel had been playing tricks to keep him inside.

Nancy's gaze was sharp enough to hurt.
