Chapter 26

Travis parks his car in a secret house somewhere far away from the main city. Travis and Klein carry the bloody Nicholas out of the car into the house. He is deeply injured and finds it difficult to breathe.

“His heart is fine. Let’s be grateful he didn’t go for the heart”, Travis said. “He needs enough time to heal”. Travis walks into the small kitchen and fills a cup with water. He hands it over to Klein who feeds Nicholas gently. “Let’s leave him to heal”, Travis said and Klein covered Nicholas with a blanket.

Travis and Klein sit on the dining chairs.

“Things are getting worse”, Klein said and sighed.

“What are you going to do?” Travis asked.

“I should be asking you that”, Klein said and sighed again. “What’s wrong with those kids anyway?”

“The Luna made them believe Nicholas killed John’s parents”, Travis answered.

“What?”

“Yes. I knew something was going to be wrong, that’s why I rushed to your place”, Travis said.
