CORRIE
Hatty held herself back from vomiting as I hand her the sterile tube. She struggled shakily as she held it, I rolled my eyes at her, she was wearing gloves at least so she didn't have to look that disgusted. "You brought his cum?" Hatty asked setting the tube aside on the counter. "Cum can't be used?" I asked as Hatty shook her head. "It can, but you know you could have gotten a strand of his hair. You didn't need to go through the entire trouble and fuck him." Hatty hissed her brows knit in disapproval. "Where is the fun in that?" I grimaced as she heaved a sigh. "What you did was risky. Next time don't do something so stupid." Hatty warned me, I shook my head ignoring her rant. "When should I be expecting the results?" I bent over, perching my elbows on the counter. "Three days. In the meantime you should probably get tested." Hatty said with a smug grin on her lips. I rolled my eyes at her pushing myself back, steadying on my feet. "I'll be back for the results till then." I said turning around to exit the shop only to be met by Abel on my way out. "Miss North." He greeted like he always did, the same rolls royce was parked not too faraway but a colbalt blue color.m not black. I rolled my eyes. Nothing billionaires can't do when they want to flaunt their wealth. "I suppose Mr Nash is in the car." I scoffed as Abel bowed. "Yes, he wishes to give you a ride. He wants to speak with you privately." Abel added but I shook my head. "I'm not interested." I turn him down politely as Abel walked up to me, leaning towards my ear. "It wasn't a request Miss North." Abel slowly withdrew from me, gesturing his hand towards the passenger seat. I groaned as I strut towards it, opened the car and got in, shutting the door behind me to see Mr Nash at the far end of the car. Abel got in as well but he didn't start the car, the silence between the three of us was awkward until Mr Nash spoke first. "Nice of you to Join us Miss North." He put away his phone, focusing his gaze on me, I just nodded. "Nothing you say will convince me to tutor your daughter. I'm not the only private tutor in Springville. There are better more qualified educators, stop making my life more difficult than it already is Mr Nash." I spoke in one breath, tears well infinitely small tears gathered in my eyes. "You sure it's nothing?" My gaze fell on to Abel who purposely extended his hand, holding a phone as he presses a button. "You brought his cum?" "Cum can't be used?" "It can, but you know you could have gotten a strand of his hair. You didn't need to go through the entire trouble and fuck him." My eyes widened, I was basically still right in front of the shop, how did he get those recordings. "So is that particular interest you're raging about the entire time was Devon's dick?" Mr Nash uttered, not impressed, as if mocking her that i could do better. "I could sue you for invasion of privacy." I grimaced, my gaze fixated on him. "And I could slander your reputation to the fucking ground. What I just played should prove to you how powerful I am. I'll make sure you don't get a fucking job till the day you die." Emmette said. "So, tutor Emery and I'll keep yours little secret." I turned to him surprised, I was expecting him to go through what he said, if a normal person found such about my record I would have been reported to the minister of education and have my licence revoked for indecency with my employer. I faced forward, my back plopping straight in my seat. "Why are you helping me? Why are you keeping my secret?" I asked as Mr Nash sighed. "I've been vocal Miss North, I want you to tutor my daughter. You're the only one who can do that. I don't care if there are better tutors, I'm desperate." He finally admitted the reason for all his stunts. It still didn't make any sense, a billionaire so desperate that he's willing to use his wealth to get her for his daughter. But I didn't have a choice, if he gets the chance to leak that recording I'll be ruined. I don't care about being ruined either way, all my plans to get back at Devon would be in vein. I couldn't let this opportunity slip from my grasps. I somehow have to strike a deal with him. I looked over at him wondering what could be the reason behind his desperation. "I don't normally sleep with my employer, Mr Devon was a mistake, a careless one. So I hope you don't think we'll have such relationship if I consider tutoring your daughter." I said as he nodded. "I don't care if you're having an affair him, and you're really not my type Miss North." He blatantly said, my mouth dropped wide at his remarks. What did he mean I'm not his type? Such a bold thing to say when he's made my life a living hell for months. "Of course, your type must be six feet under." I snarkily commented, folding my hands. "Excuse me?" Mr Nash bellowed. "Nothing. I'll tutor your daughter Mr Nash." I said my hand folding under the lock of the car. "Emery." Mr Nash uttered as I paused in my steps confused. "Emery is my daughter's name. So when you first come over call her by that name." Mr Nash said, sounding all sentimental, it was odd as if he was trying to be familiar with me. "Of course Mr Nash." I said unlocking the car immediately, already done with his bullshit. "It's Emmette." He said, my hands inches from shutting the door in his face. My brows knit in confusion, a smile crept up his face. It was genuine, not the fake one he's been using to coax me to tutor his daughter. I nod, slowly shutting the door as the car started and drove away. My eyes stared at his licence plate, I don't trust him and I needed to find his weakness as soon as I can.EMMETTE My eyes swept the room as my employees filed into the spacious living room one by one. They all lined up, murmuring under their breaths until Abel was the last to approach me, giving a slight nod to indicate that everyone was present.I cleared my throat, my gaze moving across the entire room."Hello, everyone," I started. "I apologize for the intrusion. I'm sure all of you are doing your best, working hard for me, and I need to commend that." The room went so silent that even a pin drop could be heard."I gathered you all today to thank you," I said, my voice cracking slightly."You all showed me how loyal you were, given the terrible situation that happened. You stood by my side and didn’t call it quits when the world sullied my name. You boldly stayed and showed up, even though I wasn’t available at the moment. Thank you.""Thank you for your esteemed loyalty. Thank you for giving me your trust, and thank you for putting up a united front, even when it looked pointless," I
MIMIAll I could do was clasps my hands over my nose and think of a way to beg for mercy."I'm sorry for talking bad about Corrie." I stuttered. "You have to understand." My body trembled. "You don't understand how hard it was to watch my husband pick her over me again and again with each bid." I chuckled."You don't expect me to like her all of a sudden do you? She's fucking lucky I didn't even shoot.""I never got to thank you for what you did in the ferry." Emmette muttered playing with his ciga.My body relaxed a bit, but I was still tense. He could use this as a front and just as well expect me to be relaxed. "You don't need to." I urged."You're right but unfortunately, you and I are what each other needs at the moment." He said as I turned to him confused."I don't understand," I scoffed confused. "What could we probably need from each other." The air was silent, he didn't give me a reply."You're going to the station right?" He muttered snapping his head to my direction. It
MIMIIt feels like eyes are watching my every move. Every time I turned back I'll meet the same doctor and nurse that would just simply stare at my paranoid self. I resumed walking down the hall and the moment I saw the exit I knew it was going to be hell. For once I was grateful for Emmette for hiring security because if he'd left it to the hospital, there would have probably been a big commotion by now.I opened the doors wide, looking by my sides to take a look at security. The wind blew across my hair and I already see the black jeep that the police sent for me, pull up right in front. I flicked my hair back taking down each slow careful strides and before I could even step on the last step. Papparazi's leered in one by one, shoving me their microphones."Mimi can you tell us what happened in the De Ronte Ferry.""Is it true you were held hostage along—""Mimi—Mimi, there's a rumour saying you were involved with Miss De Ronte, what do you say to that.""Now that Corrie Nash is bac
EMMETTE "Sister?" Corrie squints, trying to recall any small bit of memory."I don't have a brother," Corrie tells him, still in a state of confusion, before briefly looking at me and turning her attention back to him."Oh, there's an explanation for that. We share the same father but different mothers," Kennedy explains, but Corrie's hand reaches to the side of her head as she lets out a grumbling hiss."No." Corrie mutters. "Mom and dad only had me and Emerald." Corrie explains as I freeze up. She remembers Emerald, that's good at least. But the way she says it is like she grew up with them. Like they were still alive, and the relief that lingered morphed into an ache of worry."Well," Kennedy slurred briefly. "My mother was dad's mistress," Kennedy explains, and Corrie frowns; her shoulders shrivel and she squints her eyes even more."No." Corrie stutters, suddenly slipping into a gasping frenzy."D-dad will not do that to mom." She thinks for a moment, her eyes slowly opening, wi
HATTY"No, Charlton," I muttered into my phone, sneaking glances at Mr. Nash every chance I got."I’ll be back soon," I added, rolling my eyes."I’m not a child, Charlton. Stop worrying, for goodness’ sake," I hissed before hanging up, cutting him off before he could say anything else. The moment the call ended, my body tensed. A part of me expected Mr. Nash to question me about Charlton, but he didn’t.He just sat there, brooding, eyes fixed on the tablet resting on the seat beside him. The glasses perched on his face somehow made him look even more attractive than he already was. Screw the media, Mr. Nash was far more handsome in person, and it was impossible not to notice. What I couldn’t wrap my head around was how Corrie could be afraid of him. But then again, if I lost my memory and suddenly woke up to be told the man a stranger I don't even know was my husband, I’d probably be terrified too."You’re staring," Mr. Nash muttered, snapping me out of a trance I hadn’t even realized
EMMETTE"I’ve identified the body, sir," Abel muttered on the other end of the line. "It’s him."He confirmed Salem’s death, and for some reason, panic clawed at my chest, followed by a sting of guilt.I didn’t know what to say. I was loss for words, speechless even. We weren’t the best of friends. We were far from it, but still, I felt bad. I had promised to come back for him, and instead, I left him to die.Annoyance simmered alongside the guilt, tangled with a storm of emotions I couldn’t fully unravel. But above them all, anger stood tall. When I was supposedly died, he kidnapped Corrie and kept her hidden, safe. My men couldn’t even track her down. And now that she’s finally found—she doesn’t even remember me.Instead, she’s afraid of me.She calls that bastard her husband. Why? Why doesn’t Corrie recall a single thing about me? Why does she recoil at the sound of my voice? My grip on the phone tightened until pain shot up my hand."Leave the morgue for now," I ordered coldly, ju
