Narrator's POV

Raina's eyes were fixed on the clock, her anxiety growing with each passing minute. Dorian was late, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that he'd changed his mind. The ticking of the clock sent shivers down her spine, and with each tick, the moment of her potential execution drew nearer.

"What's going to happen if Dorian changes his mind?" she wondered aloud. She needed revenge against Luke for hurting her and wanted to ensure he didn't have access to the trust fund. But with her life in jeopardy, she was uncertain how to stop him.

"Should I tell the doctor to call him?" she contemplated, just as the door opened and the doctor entered. She breathed a sigh of relief and demanded, "Where's Alpha Dorian?"

"He stepped out," the doctor replied.

"Oh no," her wolf, Lucy, groaned. "It's over for us now!" Raina's wolf cried out in distress.

"Calm down," Raina whispered to Lucy. "It's not over for us yet." She reassured her wolf.
