An hour had passed by since Katerina had hung up on me. I was still in the study room, sitting on the highly backed chair, holding the phone in my hand. I should be sleeping right now because I have an early meeting tomorrow with the new investors. However, I was still wide awake and there was no sign of falling asleep anytime soon.

I mean, how does someone sleep peacefully without a care in the world when a real war is going on in his/her head?

‘I don't have a daddy.’ The little girl's voice rang in my head over and over again, making it hard for me to concentrate.

I heaved a deep sigh, running my fingers through my already messy hair. Pushing the chair back, I stood up and walked to the window. I stared out of the window blankly, thoughts buzzing in my mind and for a second, I was afraid that I would go insane.

The door clicked open and I didn't bother to turn around because I already knew who it was. Andrew joined me at the window, standing beside me.
