The distance from my apartment to the hospital felt like forever. On normal days when there's no emergency, it's a ten minute drive. However, it felt as if we had spent an eternity though it had been seven minutes. With Lucas lying on the stretcher with his eyes shut, bloodied clothes, his lips tightly clumped together and his body unmoving, the distance felt a stretch of a million kilometres, each second that passed by a silent whisper of death looming in the air…

“Please doctor, you need to save him. He has a daughter that needs him. He can't die. He needs to survive.”I cupped my hands as I pleaded for the doctor to save his life. It's not often that I plead for someone's life.However, this was different. We’re talking about the father of my little girl. The father of the triplets.
