Damien pov

I lasted exactly three more seconds before something in me snapped.

Evelyn was still smiling at Charles like he had personally rebuilt her heart with his bare hands. Charles was still talking like he owned fresh air. And I was standing there like a man watching his oxygen get stolen right in front of him.

I felt the heat climb my neck.

My patience collapsed.

My jealousy rose like a storm I could not hide.

And then I moved.

“Charles,” I said, my voice too calm to be real. “Come with me.”

He blinked. “Oh. Sure. What did you want to—”

I did not wait for him to finish.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him toward the door before Evelyn could even stand up. She let out a small gasp behind us, but I was already dragging him out of the living room and into the hallway.

“Damien,” Charles protested, trying to free his arm. “What are you doing?”

“What I should have done the moment you walked in.”

“You could have just asked.”

“I did,” I said. “By not asking.”

He stumbled a little as I push

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 34:- what the heck?

mEvelyn POVThe moment the door clicked open, my soul left my body.I froze. Not because I wanted to. Because I physically could not move.My eyes locked on the doorway like maybe if I stared hard enough, this would turn into another cruel thought instead of reality. Maybe I had finally lost my mind. Maybe pain could cause hallucinations. I would welcome that explanation. But no. Damien stood there.Freshly dressed. Shoes still on. Keys in his hand. The kind of man who was supposed to be at work by now, not standing in the bedroom I had taken over like an uninvited disaster.I wanted the bed to swallow me whole. Every humiliating thought crashed into me at once. The stained sheets. My inability to stand. The fact that I looked weak, undone, exposed in ways I had never planned for him to see. This was not part of the script. I did not prepare for this version of myself.Worst betrayal of the morning.I froze, staring at him like maybe if I didn’t blink, this would rewind. Like maybe th

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 33:- My grandmother

Evelyn POVI woke up to a sharp, unforgiving pain twisting low in my abdomen. It was anything but dull or manageable. This pain came violent and sudden, the kind that knocked the air out of your lungs before you could even swear properly. I dragged in a sharp breath through my teeth and opened my eyes, blinking against the light spilling into the room. The first thing I saw was the clock.8:00 a.m.“What the fuck,” I muttered.I stared at it like it had personally betrayed me. I had not woken up this late in years. Even on my worst days, even when sleep refused to come, my body never let me oversleep like this. My mind immediately started searching for reasons.Stress.Yesterday flashed through my head. The argument. Damien. The constant tension of living with a man who refused to break no matter how hard I pushed. I scoffed softly. Arguing with Damien was not a light activity. It took strategy. Energy. Stubbornness. That had to be it.I shifted, preparing to get out of bed, and the p

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 32:- Traitor

Damien POVBy the time I got home, exhaustion sat in my bones like it had paid rent. My tie was already loose, my jacket heavy on my arm, my head still stuck in a land project that refused to stay buried. All I wanted was silence. Instead, my mind was a cluttered mess of unopened contracts, legal fires, and decisions I did not want to make again tomorrow. Then I looked up.Evelyn was sitting in my living room like she had every intention of ruining what little peace I had left. Relaxed and unbothered. One leg tucked under her, the other stretched just enough to remind me this was not a hallucination. She looked like she was waiting. Or daring someone. For one reckless second, my brain offered the absurd thought that maybe that someone was me.She was half naked. Just pants and a bra, like clothes were optional in my house now and my sanity was the price. My thoughts stalled in a way they hadn’t all day. Annoyance flared first, sharp and immediate. Then something far more dangerous fol

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 31: Handsome disaster

Sophia POV“No.” I said it calmly. Firmly. Like a responsible adult who had read at least three parenting articles and half a tweet.Evelyn stopped pushing the cart and turned to look at me slowly, like I had just insulted her ancestors. “No?” she repeated.“Yes. No,” I said again, reaching out and removing the glitter-covered unicorn notebook from her hand. “Put it back.”She clutched it tighter. “Why?”“Because,” I said patiently, “Aveillie does not need another notebook. She has twelve.”“Twelve is not enough.”“Twelve is more than enough,” I snapped. “She is five, not a stationery shop.”Evelyn gasped, offended. “Wow. Listen to you. Since when did you become the Minister of Child Discipline?”“Since I watched you turn my goddaughter into a tiny dictator who thinks she deserves rewards for breathing.”“She does deserve rewards for breathing,” Evelyn said, completely serious. “Have you seen the economy?”I pinched the bridge of my nose. “Put. It. Back.”She smiled sweetly. Too sweet

Evelyn POV“Would you get your ass off my couch before your husband comes to sue me for harboring his wife in my house?” Sophia yelled, staring at me like I had committed a personal offense against her existence.I didn’t even blink. “Point of correction,” I said lazily, eyes glued to my phone. “My husband on paper. And moreover, he doesn’t even know if I’m home or not. He hasn’t gone home these past few days.”Sophia sucked her teeth. “So you’re keeping tabs on his movement, yet you’re shouting ‘husband on paper.’ See contradiction. See madness.”I shrugged. “Since he isn’t home, what exactly are you staying here for? If he was home, I would have said you were avoiding him because of the last…” she trailed off and glanced up.She gave me that look. The one that always meant chaos was loading.“Can’t I stay with my friend again?” I said quickly. “And why would I hide from him? He should be the one hiding, not me.”“Oh absolutely,” Sophia said, collapsing onto the chair like a dramatic

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 29:- Cost of loving her

Damien POVThe office lights were still on.This building slept when I decided it did. Until then, it breathed with me, hummed with quiet power, stayed awake because I stayed awake. I stood by the window with my phone pressed to my ear, my reflection faint in the glass, eyes locked on the city spread beneath me like something I owned and protected at the same time. The land project file lay open on the desk behind me.Three screens glowed.Numbers moved relentlessly. Losses calculated down to the decimal. Alternate routes plotted. Damage contained. Every red line was a wound, and I had learned a long time ago how to stitch without flinching.“Proceed,” I said calmly. “Yes. Tonight.”The voice on the other end hesitated.“No,” I continued, already anticipating the pushback. “Do not involve the board yet. I will absorb it.”Silence stretched. Then resistance.“I said I will absorb it.”There was nothing else to argue after that.I ended the call and placed the phone face down on the des
