A knock came on Padma’s door which she opened immediately and the frown that settled on her forehead was quick to disappear when she saw that it was Caitlin.

Kyra who saw her mother, appeared from behind Padma and she could see the streak of tear which already dried at the side of her eye. She has never seen her mother cry before, not once. It made her wonder what had happened back at the forest and why she took long. Definitely, something was not right.

“Caitlin,” Padma called and asked, “Where have you been?”

“Padma,” Caitlin said and looked around, “did something happen?”
