Five More Years Later:

“Get your little asshole ass over here!” Masha yelled at her brother, who skillfully dodged her between the trees. “Your ass hasn’t had a proper beating from me in way too damn long! Looks like they spoiled the hell out of you here without me!”

Laughing at full volume and shrieking on ultrasonic frequencies, the boy quickly found protection in the form of his older brother Lukas and hid behind his legs.

“Masha, stop bullying Dima,” the guy picked up the dark-haired little boy into his arms.

“Who the hell is bullying him?!” the blonde threw her hands up indignantly. “He can run anyone into the ground till their ass sweats through their pants all by himself...”

“Maaasha,” Anya looked at the girl reproachfully while laying snacks out on the table in the middle of the green garden, while I flipped meat on the grill. “We beat everything, but your mouth? Absolutely hopeless!”

“Why would I beat it?” our beauty snorted. “I still need it...”

“Yeah, to kiss Vovka with!” Lukas snickered, and now the irritation flew toward the brother who was older than little Dima.

Half a year after our wedding, one of the most long-awaited and desired things finally happened. Ann got pregnant.

We were completely out of our minds with happiness, and I practically carried my wife around in my arms, for which I often got yelled at because my overprotectiveness had already gone far beyond normal limits. But I couldn’t help myself.

Our Masha is already nineteen now, studying international economics and trade abroad. She finished her first year and came back home for the summer.

I can’t help being proud of my daughter. She grew up into a truly brilliant and gorgeous girl. Intelligence and beauty are a lethal cocktail in business and professional relationships.

Long thick blonde hair, piercing gray eyes, a killer body and curves.

Of course!

After all, Masha practiced pole dance at the studio Anya opened for children and anyone else interested. So when it comes to appearance and physical abilities, our daughter can absolutely hold her own.

Damn, I wish I were there with her at that university! I’d twist every bastard into knots so they wouldn’t even dare look in my girl’s direction.

Though maybe that’s exactly why she picked that university. To escape my nonstop surveillance over her admirers.

“What Vovka?” I frown, staring at my daughter.

“Mom, why’d you tell Lukas?” the blonde stomped her foot.

“I didn’t tell him anything,” Anya shrugged, wiping chocolate off Dima’s mouth after the little thief stole it from the table. “He probably overheard us talking...”

“I DIDN’T FUCKING CATCH THAT. WHAT VOVKA?!” I started getting seriously pissed off. Look at these two little girlfriends keeping secrets from me.

“Oh, calm down, Dad,” the little brat snorted. “Just a regular Vovka from university. My classmate. He’s from our city too. Nice guy, we hang out together...”

“And kiss!” Luka barked helpfully, instantly earning an apple thrown straight at him from the table.

“Ow!”

“You’re impossible! I swear, there’s no controlling you people!” Masha grumbled, puffing up like an angry hedgehog.

“What about that boy, Matias? Doesn’t he write anymore?” Anya asked, and I immediately saw fury flare in our daughter’s steel-gray eyes.

“To hell with him!” Masha snapped angrily. “And he’s not a boy anymore. He’s an idiot from abroad!”

When Masha and I were going through treatment, there’d been another boy in their department. His father was Spanish and his mother was from our country, so he was one of the few who spoke our language, and they’d become pretty close.

Matias was four years older than Masha, but he got diagnosed later, so when Masha beat the illness, he was still undergoing treatment. They kept texting and talking for a long time after he recovered too.

“Some friend...” she muttered bitterly under her breath while viciously helping my beloved set the table. “I was interesting to him while we were both in rehab and sick. The second he got better, he vanished into the sunset! Not a call, not a message. Asshole...” she huffed quietly. “Promised me the moon and stars too. Pfft. Lying piece of shit...”

“Maria!” Anya barked, and Masha rolled her eyes and shut up.

Our girl suffered hard when that kid disappeared off the radar. She was miserable for a long time, and I can say with certainty that it was her first real crush.

Good thing the guy disappeared like the wind blew him away. Otherwise I’d have had to scare off another one.

I sigh heavily and don’t understand when the hell I became like this. I used to party harder than most people only dream of.

But when it comes to my girls... I just can’t.

They’re my most precious people, my absolute best.

And every time I imagine some bastard treating my Masha the way I used to treat other women before Ann, my teeth grind from rage.

My Anya...

She changed me.

Feels like I fall in love with her more every single day.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t dig up anything on Denis Vernadsky. That bastard covered his tracks too damn well. From the outside, there was nothing to pin on him.

But fate has its own twisted sense of justice, and his vendetta came from the one direction he clearly never expected.

One day, his wife got bored and decided to fly somewhere on vacation with the kids. She wanted to personally pick the hotel and book the tickets herself, so she grabbed her husband’s laptop without suspecting a thing.

Apparently she’d never done that before, because Denis had gotten careless enough not to password-protect the device.

The last video minimized in one of the windows caught the woman’s attention for a split second, and after that, her life changed forever.

It turned out to be one of his home videos with yet another underage girl he paid for sex. It was obvious the girls were very young and poor, doing it for money.

Vernadsky’s wife was horrified by what she saw, but she didn’t lose her head. She took the laptop straight to the authorities, and they found a whole lot of interesting shit on that device.

Denis got convicted and sent to prison, while his wife, with help from lawyers, cleaned out his fortune for herself.

The case was loud as hell and highly publicized. There was no way to bury it.

So nowadays Vernadsky occasionally gets turned into someone’s prison bitch behind bars... with my assistance, of course.

Because every time I imagine that one of those girls could’ve easily been my Masha, I immediately dial a familiar number at the prison. Then a few particularly nasty inmates suddenly feel an overwhelming desire for intimacy with Denis.

Anya doesn’t know those details though. She doesn’t want to remember what happened to her anymore. She focuses only on the present and future now.

“Ann,” I pull my beloved against me, grabbing her ass under her skirt when we end up in our bedroom after the evening gathering with guests. “Maybe we should try for another one?” I purr into my panther’s neck, and her eyes go wide.

“No, Nazar!” Her brows snap together sternly. “I tried it once and that was enough! I thought I’d lose my damn mind in that delivery room! Besides, we already have plenty of children!”

“But Masha’s grown up now and soon she’ll fly off to some... Vovochka! And Luka’s already a big guy too. Maybe yes?” I start kissing my wife’s sweet neck, and as always, she can’t resist me, heating up in my arms.

“Nazar, have some shame!” my beloved whispers, already far less firmly, sliding her hand into my pants and grabbing my cock.

“Shame? Never heard of it,” I smirk, squeezing one of my wife’s lush breasts and kissing her collarbone. “How about we leave it all up to fate?”

“To hell with you then, Shade,” my panther looks at me with eyes clouded by desire while stroking my shaft with her hand. “Fine. Let’s do it...”

Nazar Yartsev:A gloomy day in a gloomy place. A light drizzle began to fall, painting the gravestones in darker shades. The wet earth stuck unpleasantly to our shoes, but the little boy didn’t care. He stood there staring at the smiling photo of someone dear to him, sincerely grieving the loss.“Lukas, let’s go already,” Masha said softly, taking the boy by the shoulder with understanding. “It’s about to pour. Mom’s in a better place now. She’s not suffering anymore there. And there’s no booze there either,” the blonde added quietly and sadly, running into my reproachful glare.Natalya died six months after we took guardianship of her children. I hired a caretaker to help the woman, to look after that disaster of a mother. But the problem remained the same. Natalya herself didn’t want help, and during the hours when the caretaker wasn’t there, she kept drinking thanks to her “kind” neighbor. Her mind never cleared, not even once, during all that time. Then one day, the caretaker simp

“No. She’s fine,” the woman reassures us quickly. “I need to talk to you both. Come back up to the ward. They’ll let you through.”Within minutes, we’re already outside Masha’s room, and we’re invited inside.Only the little girl and Elena are there. The woman watches me carefully as I walk over to Masha, take her hand, and ask worriedly how she’s feeling.“Masha, you and I already talked, and you spoke very positively about Nazar and Ann. I think they finally want to ask you something,” the woman says with a slight smile, giving us an encouraging look, and we realize the moment has come.“Masha, please tell us,” Nazar says to the confused little girl, and it’s obvious he’s nervous as hell. I take his hand because I’m shaking like a leaf myself. This is so much more nerve-racking than it seemed in my head. “We know you already have guardians, but… would you want us to become your official guardians instead? Me and Anya.”Masha stares at us wide-eyed like she can’t believe what she jus

Anya Shumilskaya:“What are you doing here, Dad?” Nazar asks Mr. Yartsev, who’s leaning against his son’s car, watching us closely with his arms crossed.“I thought we were family and helped each other in hard times,” his father scoffs, looking at us with cold steel-gray eyes. “I know everything.”“Well of course you do. Somebody already ran their mouth,” my boyfriend sighs heavily and leans against the car too, caging me between his arms.“Nazar, now isn’t the time to argue,” the man replies calmly to his son’s irritation. “Tell me how the girl is and what the doctors are saying.”Grinding his teeth, Nazar reluctantly gives in and tells his father everything that’s been happening. About the kids and Masha’s condition, and about their half-assed guardians. Oleg listens carefully without interrupting once, only staring thoughtfully at his son.“And you seriously want to take two homeless kids into your care?” Apparently, that’s the only thing that truly unsettled the elder Yartsev out

Ann didn't even get to finish when the ward door burst open and some screaming woman came charging in with a man."Oh, Mashenka! Our dear girl, we found you!" the lunatic shrieked at the top of her lungs.Masha woke up, confused, staring around."We were so worried! We searched everywhere for you!"Well, there it was.The greedy bitch had finally shown up."What's going on? Aunt Vita?" Masha looked fearfully at her aunt and the man. "Where's Luka?" she asked Anya in panic. My beloved calmed her, quietly whispering that he was somewhere safe, with us."My dear girl! Why did you run away from home like that? See where it got you?"The woman tried to approach the bed, but I stepped in front of her, blocking the way and glaring at the actress."Then why didn't you come immediately after being told your precious relative was in the hospital?" I growled at the mangy goat. Her companion immediately opened his mouth."And what makes you so damn smart? There wasn't any transportation running!"

“Father, Valentina, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend and fiancée, Anya!” I saw surprise flash across everyone’s faces, and only then did the meaning of Nazar’s words finally sink in.
