The merchant guild master, Richard The Noble, scanned through the documents he gripped in his hands. He came to a stop and sat down, his weight causing the chair to squeak.

Despite his moniker, he has no noble qualities. He would undoubtedly broaden people's interpretation of the term "fat." Another factor contributing to his weight gain was the manner he kept a variety of snacks and meals spread out on his table.

A second reason Richard The Noble chose his name was that, in this life, he would never be able to become a noble without making significant contributions to the empire.

As a trader, he had no method of helping the empire because of their stingy outlook that only saw their own interests.

"I've heard that it's difficult for you men to hold the fort." As he talked, the biscuit chips started to fly out. "And you expect me to supply additional weapons and rations?" He laughed and sipped wine from the cup.
