A Hereditary Disease

Ashley sighed and walked into her house, she looked around and found the living room empty.

“Dad.” She called as she dropped her bag on the couch.

“Dad, am home.” She yelled and she saw him rushing out of the hallway.

“Ashley.” He exclaimed and hugged her tightly, Ashley giggled and hugged him back.

They both pulled away and she smiled at him.

“How have you been?” He asked creasing her hair.

“Am fine dad, and you? What about mum? Is she improving?”

“Well, have been okay but your mum isn't improving, the doctors said she is dying slowly but she can still make it if we pay the bills earlier.”

“We will, it's almost the end of the month.” She replied and sighed.

“Okay dear, why are you home by the way?”

“Aren't you happy to see me?”

“Of course I am, it's just a question.”

“I took the weekend off to come to see you and mum.”

“And they allowed you?”

“Dad, do you want me to go?” She asked feeling slightly sad.

“No dear, am just curious.”

“Whatever.” She muttered and carried her bag before h
