**THIRD PERSON**

Seventeen years ago,

“Dad, wake up!” Lily squealed as she ran into Dad's room. “Dad, Dad,” she yelled, tapping him.

Dad wiped his eyes with the back of his palm and opened his eyes a bit. “You said you were going to show us how to bake cookies today,” Lily whined.

Dad sat up. “Of course I will. Wait for me in the kitchen with your sister, and don't touch anything there until I come,” Dad warned.

“Yayyyyy!” Lily exclaimed as she ran to meet Chloe. “Daddy is coming!”

The girls waited in the kitchen for their father to come.

“Who's ready to make some cookies?” Dad asked, throwing his arms open. He was standing by the kitchen door.

"Meeee!!” The girls shouted as they ran into Dad's arms.

“Okay, okay,” Dad said, disengaging from the girls. “Chloe, bring that flour over there, and then you, Lily, bring the bowl.”

The girls ran off excitedly to do as they were told.

Chloe sat on the kitchen counter, her legs swinging excitedly, as she watched Dad mix the dough.
