Chapter 6 - Relief

Natashian Rynne Elboser’s Point of View

The smell of barley spread across the room – clashing with the maple wood's scent. I'd never taken notice of these things, how ironic – I never thought I'd ever come to like this place. I slightly caress the dirty white sheets of the bed, "I hope I can come back here..."

The belongings I had to pack were inside a barely filled bag – almost half of them the very needed pheromone inhibitors, bandage, and a single set of clothing.

Before leaving the room, I left the steaming barley tea with a little letter next to it. Master Zonner's favorite blend was what I wanted to learn the most, however, I needed to uphold his dignity more than anything. At least what he lost was nothing significant...

"Nathan, you're always welcome to come back here," Mama Enah grasped my sides as she checked me from head to toe. Yannah was beside her whilst Kimur was clearly behind a pillar.

I could only smile as I nodded, "I'll definitely come back when I can."

"Make sure to stay healthy," Yannah remarked as she looked like she was about to cry.

Although I admit it was an emotional moment, I could only giggle uncontrollably as it was the first time I saw her like that. I didn't know she'd become so attached to me, to the point where she'd cry if I left.

"Yannah, we're still going to see each other from time to time," I chuckled, however, she hit my shoulders as her tears were uncontrollable at that point.

Kimur did say I was the first servant to last at least a month, all the others ran away for some reason. Something about Master Zonner being harsh on them, however, I seriously doubt it as I never saw Master Zonner get angry. He's been the kindest to me...

As we were standing together, making the most of the short time we'll be together,

"Mr. Nathan, it's time to go."

I waved goodbye as I was being taken away by the men Maximus sent to get me. Their faces were filled with sadness, for the very first time, I felt bad about leaving a place.

With the last turn I could do, I could see Master Zonner in his room – spectating as I left. I smiled, however, he was already looking down on his work...

"Maybe it was my illusion," I thought as I shrugged the thought off – turning my back for the very last time. Entering the huge golden halls of the Stylynx pack's ginormous castle. The epitome of a luxurious family, being slapped across the face of a mere orphan.

*******

"You'll stay here from now on, you can ask the head servant or the butler for your assigned station," the man curtly said as he walked away. Abruptly leaving without explaining anything.

Indeed, the youngest Alpha is a strange one – although I am glad he had denied having a mate, he still gives me hell through his oblivious and eccentric ways. An absolute womanizer, with various vices – he's just living like another spoiled son of a rich man.

I sigh as I sat on the bed, the bottom bunk of the first bed positioned by the bathroom. The comfort I had within Master Zonner's presence was completely gone as both my privacy and security are held in jeopardy here.

I hid the little stuff I had below the bed, and just in time – the men residing in the room entered. I sat straight as they all stopped what they were doing as they took sight of me, I immediately stood up to try to introduce myself.

"H-Hello, I'm Nathan," I spoke up – yet the room was filled with silence as they looked at me,

However, they ended up ignoring me – and I swear I saw one of them looking at me with disgust. I stood there as they all went to their beds, conversing like I wasn't there.

"They must've not heard me, right?" I tried to assure myself as I got ready to approach them again.

"I'm Nathan, what are you guys' names?" I asked, and finally one of them looked my way. The red-haired guy whom was in the middle of their circle earlier.

Instead of an introduction, all I got was a smirk, "Pfft, he was actually talking to us!"

And as if it was rehearsed, they all burst out laughing. Not wanting to waste any more of my energy, I stopped trying to interact with my new roommates.

Instead, with eye contact still being maintained – I proceeded to walk my way out of the room. They were all staring at me with eyes filled with resentment, "Keep it up, little assholes," I muttered as I closed the door behind me.

Knowing full well they heard me, I smirked as I walked away – getting ready to go to where the man had instructed me to go earlier.

"They resent you so much, yet they put all of their time and attention on you – why does it matter if it is affection or resentment?" I thought as I walked down the halls. Living through hell on earth, it never mattered to me – resentment or feelings of love – it's all the same, is it not?

Walking around the huge building,

"Where did I need to go again?"

*******

"Haa," I let out a huge sigh as I inhaled the foulest smelling dung in my life. I can't believe the youngest Alpha went out of his way to get me out of the habitat I was most comfortable in – for what? To make me clean shit all day every single day.

In addition to the shitty mess I have to deal with, shitty assholes have been relentless in making me lose my mind very slowly. It's been almost a month since I came here, and this is all I get.

I would have fared better brewing barley tea every hour...

"Hmm, Fargo – you're the only friend I have... although you are going to be eaten sooner or later," I muttered as I pat the humongous pig on his back.

And as if my life was laid out like a novel, the red-haired man – whom I came to know his name was Isaac – rushed with his little penguin squad. I bet they rehearse for their lines just for these moments.

"Hey, shit-eater!" I predicted what he was going to say as I whispered under my breath. He was taken aback, however, nothing could stop him from delivering his deliberate lines.

"Ehem, do my laundry," he said arrogantly as he walked away.

I frown, "That's it?" He went out of his way to walk an exact 1.12 mile to say shit like this...

However, I can only stay quiet – this guy was the same age as Yannah. Even though the said girl acted several years more maturely than Isaac, he acted like a complete bastard.

I rolled my eyes as I grunted, the bucket of manure already filled before I even knew it.

Isaac and the little cute penguins were still hanging out like little children with their sneaky glances and immature giggles.

"Natashian, you are dealing with children – always remember that," I thought to myself as I carried the bucket to dump it.

And as if time stopped, the sun was the last thing I saw. The bucket I had been carrying was in the air, the horrible smell of manure uncovered as everything flipped. Loud giggles surround me as the stench was nothing I could handle.

"Seriously, why did I not expect this?" was the last thought I had as my vision went black... maybe it was the manure overwhelmingly splattered on my face, I couldn't be too sure.

However, what I was sure about was that my vision was slowly failing me...
