登入After another fight with Dad, we barely spoke to each other. We fought almost every day, but it seemed that what I had said to him the other day had been much worse than usual. That was probably why I hadn't seen much of him around the mansion lately. Today, the supplies Nova needed for her survival were there, along with her duffel bag.
I would test the waters this time. Nova knew that place. We used to hide there when we were children, and if she was still alive, she would find the things I had left for her. Only the two of us knew about that place.
Even our butlers had no idea it existed.
When I returned to the mansion, I learned that Dad wasn't there. I had nothing else to do that day, so my body brought me back to the church once again.
Look, I wasn't obsessed like those religious people. I was just there to look at Mattias and prove that his faith in God, which he had tried to force on me the last time, was pointless.
And now, he was talking to another woman. She even had her hand on his arm. My eyes widened, and I quickly got out of my car, approached them, and shot the woman in the head.
Well, that was what I had in mind. That was what I wanted to do. Instead, I attached a tracker to her bag before smiling at Mattias, carrying a drink with me.
The woman raised an eyebrow at me because Mattias had quickly removed her hand from his arm before looking at me.
She suddenly seemed to realize something when she saw that I was prettier than she was, and that she couldn't compare to my charm. Like, girl? It's me. Standing next to me, with that dark complexion of hers, she looked even darker.
“Mattias, I have something important to discuss with you. Can we talk inside?” I said, noticing that Mattias was checking me out.
Who wouldn't?
I was wearing a fitted dress. It wasn't revealing, but it hugged all my curves and showed off my figure. My long hair was styled in a messy bun.
This was what I got from home. I wasn't in the mood to dress up or go shopping for clothes today.
My lazy day.
“Y-yeah, sure. After you.” Mattias gestured for me to enter first, and I winked at the woman before walking inside.
You're in trouble later. I'll cut off the hand you used to touch Mattias.
The church was quiet, and Mattias opened the door for me. Instead of taking me to what looked like the kitchen in his convent, he brought me to a study room.
There were images of saints all over the walls, and I felt as though I would burn just by being in that room.
I forgot about the possibility of burning when Mattias took off his robe, revealing his fitted shirt, which showed off his well-defined muscles.
Hmm, delicious.
No! That's so indecent. I don't mean delicious as in something edible, like food. I mean his physical appearance is delicious because his muscles are so prominent.
God, Vivianne! You're making it worse!
“Good afternoon. What brings you here?”
I snapped out of my thoughts and quickly looked at Mattias. In my nervousness, I tried to hand him the drink, but it slipped from my hand and spilled all over his abdomen and down to his pants.
And now, my eyes were locked on that area because his white shirt had practically become transparent from the liquid. The outline of his manhood was visible through the wet fabric. It wasn't even aroused, but you know, it was enough to make someone choke.
Vivianne, what is wrong with you?!
“Oh God, I'm sorry. Silly me.” I bit my lip, secretly thinking that spilling the drink on him might have worked in my favor.
“No, it's okay.” He stopped me from wiping it because I had already started doing so. My hand ended up resting against his abs. They were as hard as bread rolls. How many hours did he spend working out?
“No, I'm really sorry—”
“It's okay. Don't worry. Have a seat.”
Mattias held my hand after saying that, and I glanced at his crotch. It was a mistake to look, so I simply sat down and stayed still.
“I'll just change,” he stammered before rushing out of the study room.
And I remained seated there.
I stared blankly at the saints on the wall, feeling as though they were cursing me for my immoral behavior. It wasn't intentional, though. It had just been an accident, right?
I arranged the remaining drinks and wondered why Mattias was taking so long to change. Was he really taking that long just to change his clothes?
I started walking around the room. It was clean and well-organized, and then I remembered that he had given me a rosary. It was at home, and I didn't carry it around with me. I might burn even more if I did, and my health points might decrease.
I saw a photograph of Mattias standing beside a priest. He looked young in it, as though he had only been a teenager.
I sat at the table, and the door opened. Mattias's forehead was sweaty, but he had changed his clothes. He was holding a Bible. I moved away from the table and sat on a chair instead, pointing toward the drink I had brought him.
“I'm sorry. I couldn't find any decent clothes.” I simply smiled and looked over his new outfit. Even with the change of clothes, he still couldn't hide his muscular build or the size of what he was carrying.
I want to bite that.
“To start, I have a question.” I took a sip of my drink before looking into Mattias's eyes.
“Are you single?”
Mattias spat out his drink to the side. I couldn't stop myself from laughing, though I managed to hold it in.
He's cute when I tease him, and I want to play this role—that of a fool.
“Why? I've seen some priests who have romantic relationships, so that's why I asked.” I said with a smile.
Mattias wiped his mouth, seemingly unable to believe what I had just asked him.
“That's not possible. A priest can't have a relationship with anyone, regardless of gender,” he explained.
I simply nodded.
“Oh, what a shame,” I said before taking another sip of my drink.
Mattias looked at me with a furrowed brow before asking, “Why?”
“I was planning to be your girlfriend.”
He shook his head in his seat, but I noticed that his cheeks had turned red. He continued shaking his head, still embarrassed.
“Look, you're blushing,” I said, pointing at his cheeks.
He covered his face with his hands, looking like a shy little boy.
“Stop that, Vivianne. What you're doing is wrong,” he said before lowering his hands and revealing his red face.
He was cute, though.
“Really? Then why are you blushing so much?” I asked.
He looked away, and I burst into laughter this time. So this was what it felt like to tease a seminarian.
“I'm not blushing. I just feel humiliated because I'm well known for studying here for—”
“Yeah, I know, I know. You don't have to explain it to me over and over again. You're such a killjoy.” I rolled my eyes before taking a sip of the drink I had brought for myself, still watching Mattias.
I was thinking about how I could soften him up, how I could make him give in. My favorite thing was stealing what belonged to someone else, and it would be such a waste if his body simply rotted away inside the church.
What a terrible waste.
“But how long have you been celibate?” I asked Mattias.
The way he looked at me suggested that he couldn't believe the ridiculous things I was asking him. What? Was it wrong to ask?
“I've never had any sexual interactions with anyone since I was born—”
“Oh, a virgin.” I smiled sweetly, and his ears turned red.
I was laughing so hard at his reaction. He was so delicious, even when I was only teasing him.
“Even when you were a minor, didn't you explore your sexuality to see if that thing of yours actually works—”
“Please stop. What you're doing to me is indecent.”
I crossed my arms and scoffed at him. He was such a killjoy, as always. I was only asking him a question, after all.
“Why? Shouldn't you be unbothered if my questions have no effect on you?” I said, moving closer to him.
“Don't tell me I have an effect on you?”
I smirked, and Mattias stood up. He moved a little farther away from me and shook his head several times before speaking.
“No, but I feel disrespected by the way you're questioning me, especially about sexual desires. Those things are not possible for me.”
He leaned against the table, showing off his biceps. They looked so juicy. So hot. I wanted to be a prisoner of those juicy biceps.
“You know what you're doing,” I said with a sweet smile.
I took a drink because the sight of him had suddenly made me thirsty.
My God, Vivianne, you're lusting after a fully clothed man. Imagine what would happen if he took his clothes off in front of you. Your eyes would practically pop out of their sockets, for sure!
“What do you mean?” he asked.
I simply shrugged, unable to stop smiling.
He was playing hard to get, and it was frustrating me. I wanted him to do something sinful with me, but God forbid that the two of us actually did anything.
I wanted him to surrender and question his so-called beliefs because temptation was one of the most satisfying feelings someone like him could experience.
I was losing interest. He was rejecting what I was trying to offer him. I was already such a catch, yet he still didn't want me.
“Alright. I'll go home now. I'll just come back another day. I already forgot what I was supposed to ask you,” I explained.
I stood up and picked up the drinks we had been using, but I was surprised when Mattias grabbed my hand. We looked at each other at the same time. He was standing behind me, and he seemed just as surprised by his own actions and my reaction.
I realized how small I was when Mattias stood close to me, and he quickly stepped away from behind me.
“Sorry. I was about to say that I'd clean those up myself.”
I nodded and grinned at Mattias. A naughty idea came to mind, and I didn't give him time to react.
I kissed him on the cheek and ran as fast as I could.
I couldn't stop smiling as I walked away from the church. Deep down, I was laughing at myself. I must have looked crazy, smiling and laughing all by myself.
He wouldn't be able to catch me. I knew that.
But I was curious about how my actions had affected Mattias, and part of me wanted to go back to see him.
And before I knew it, I found myself walking back into the convent, sneaking inside. I searched for Mattias in every place he had taken me, but he wasn't there. So I decided to explore more of the convent, partly for future reference.
I found a room with an open window and peeked inside. Just as I expected, my gut feelings were always right.
I saw Mattias kneeling on the floor, holding a rosary. He was praying devoutly with his head bowed, both hands clasped around the rosary against his chest.
I was disappointed. I thought he would be doing something scandalous after I kissed him, but instead, he was countering it with prayer.
So that meant my attempt at tempting him hadn't worked.
I found myself feeling frustrated and disappointed at the same time. I decided to go home rather than get irritated at the church. I might end up blowing the place up or burning it down out of frustration with Mattias.
IT WAS AS THOUGH HE WAS SAYING THAT I WASN'T ATTRACTIVE AT ALL!
I stormed into the mansion, and Zeb came to greet me. He followed me inside, while Piattos was nowhere to be seen. Maybe he was resting already.
But it was still annoying.
“Why do you keep following me?” I snapped at Zeb as we entered my room.
He was still standing firmly in place. I furrowed my brows and looked him up and down, only to find myself staring at Zebastian's lips.
I didn't know what had gotten into me, but I moved closer to Zeb and claimed his lips aggressively. I held tightly to the nape of his neck, and to my surprise, he didn't respond.
I stopped kissing him and slapped Zeb out of frustration. He was just as surprised by what I said next.
“Fuck, why aren't you kissing me back?” I asked irritably.
Zeb held my arms.
“Because, my lady, you didn't instruct me to kiss you back,” he explained.
Then he gently held my cheeks and began kissing my upper lip passionately, as though he had been starving for every messy kiss I gave him.
I gently closed my eyes, and Mattias's face appeared in my mind—his smile, the way he spoke to me. I could feel my entire body growing excited just thinking about him.
Zeb's hand gently squeezed my waist, sending a shiver down my spine. But when I realized that it was Zeb I was kissing, not Mattias, I began to lose interest.
My body craved Mattias.
I gently pushed Zeb away and looked elsewhere.
“Go to sleep. Leave me alone.”
I pulled away from Zeb and lay down on my bed.
I'm just going to touch myself instead.
I held Fiero by the arm as we entered the church. I was either shocked that he was here or simply annoyed that he seemed bored with his life again and had chosen to follow me around today.Today was supposed to be all about flirting with Mattias, but somehow, I'd ended up babysitting a lunatic instead."Can you stop interfering with my entertainment?" I grumbled, pinching Fiero's arm in irritation. He merely chuckled and looked at my face as we walked along the church's side corridor."Why? Is it so bad to have me around? You never know, someone with bad intentions might suddenly approach you—"I cut him off before he could finish because I already knew the rest of what Fiero was going to say would be pointless."I'm the bad person here, Fiero. They're the ones who should be afraid of what I'm capable of doing. So, if you know what's good for you, get lost while I'm still talking to you nicely.""Big Sis asked me to keep an eye on you, especially since you've been visiting the church
Barbara was sitting in front of me, holding a stack of papers and reading them one by one as if I weren't even there.I stared blankly at the iced coffee I'd brought with me. For some inexplicable reason, my feet had led me straight to Barbara's hospital. What Mattias had done to me still baffled me. How and why had he responded that way? His reaction had been the last thing I'd expected from him.I had expected him to stop me and refuse my advances. After all, he was studying to become a priest, and his reaction was certainly not what one would expect from a seminarian.Even I was confused. And what about the name he'd muttered? Who was the V he kept mentioning?I put down the lighter I'd been playing with, finally catching Barbara's attention."I'm busy. Come back another day, Vivianne."I scoffed and pouted like a child throwing a tantrum in front of Barbara."Come on! You're being so dramatic," I complained, even as I felt a dull ache in my lower abdomen. My period was probably co
It was the middle of the night when I arrived at the church. I made my way around the back, my hands still red, and climbed over the convent wall because I didn't want to enter through the front entrance. Now, I was in the kitchen, where I had found an open window.Fortunately, I was wearing comfortable clothes, and I held tightly onto the tote bag I had brought with me.I walked quietly, holding my phone as I made my way toward Mattias's room.I couldn't help smiling. I already had the duplicate key I'd asked Zeb to arrange the day before, before taking him to the location where he would be placed under surveillance. But just as I was deciding whether to open the door, I suddenly stepped back and hid when I sensed someone approaching from behind.I climbed onto the hallway ceiling, and my eyes widened when I saw the nun who had gotten suspiciously close to Mattias during my last visit. She was wearing an all-white nightgown and holding the doorknob, but the door was locked. Papa had left this place for me to clean up, and the weight in my chest grew heavier as I continued to hear the screams coming from inside. My job was to annihilate anyone who broke the contract, eliminate the threat, and clear the path."What a scene."A car stopped behind me, and I didn't bother turning around immediately because I already knew it was Arthur. Was he going to intrude on my missions n
I found out too late that Papa had already flown to Italy, leaving me alone in the entire mansion. I had given our maids some time off, and I was now downstairs making a salad after finishing watering the plants in Nova's garden and burying a fresh batch of fertilizer in the soil. The men working for Arthur, whom I didn't recognize, were now part of the fertilizer beneath the ground. But I had managed to obtain information they hadn't yet delivered to Arthur, so I was waiting for him now. I wanted to know how he would react when he found out that his men were dead.I would catch him if he tried digging up the garden."Mi lady," Zeb said as he approached me, carrying the sesame dressing I had asked him to buy because we had run out of stock. He placed the groceries on the counter. I was wearing nothing but a satin silk robe. I dried the lettuce I had washed and arranged the ingredients for my chicken salad before finally starting my day, even though it was already two in the afternoon.
I confirmed something after seeing Arthur's people, but I needed solid proof, and I had nothing in my hands right now. I couldn't even trust Papa because, given what had happened, I might end up being the one under greater scrutiny if I revealed information that only I knew about, especially when it was still nothing more than a suspicion.I pulled over and turned off the engine when I finally parked my car at Barbara's hospital.I needed to talk to her because I remembered how she had once asked me to gather information about Arthur. I had also managed to obtain some information from Papa's office.I spotted Barbara standing outside the hospital, and my brows furrowed when she shook her head, trying to suppress her laughter after seeing me.I was in a bad mood, which was why I found it irritating that she was grinning at me like an idiot. As I approached Barbara, the first thing she did was take a deep breath."I'm not in the mood for smiles.
