Chapter Forty

The room was filled with loud chatter as we all anxiously waited for the meal to be served. My people were laughing, smiling, and just having an all-around good time, conversing amongst each other. As I looked out over the crowd, I realized that my followers were very diversified. Our home was now full of vampires, lycanthropes, fae, merrows, Coomera’s, witches, and so much more. We even had a few leprechauns. One person in particular, a woman, caught my attention. By her beauty alone I knew that she was a merrow and for whatever reason, I had to make it a point to meet her.

I caught the sight of a Guardian at the entrance. The bundle he had in his arms immediately stole my attention away from the woman I had been concentrating on. I made a move to stand and the whole room quieted. All eyes were now on me. Well, hellI hate it when they do that. Determined to ignore the new attention I began to walk the length of the room toward the man
