Chapter 7

Angela

I’m in dilemma on what to do. I can’t handle the company; I can’t bring Mckenzie here, it’ll destroy Natasha’s marriage and my family will be so disappointed in me. Why did he even leave that company to me? If anything, it makes me feel more guilty. After abandoning him…after disappearing without any word…it pains me that even when I was being selfish, when I wasn’t thinking about him, he always thought me about me.

The thought alone clamped my stomach, leaving a bitter taste in my throat. The vodka bottle in my hand did nothing to lessen the pain I’m feeling. I glared at it, blaming the alcohol for not doing its job. It was supposed to help me forget!

I threw it across the room, smashing it on the wall.

“Angela?” I stiffened at his voice. When did he enter my room? Am I that drunk? “Are you okay?”

Am I okay? I’m not okay! I’m not fucking okay! The pain is making me go crazy. “I don’t want it.” That’s the only way I can ease this guilt and the only way I can return to my daughter. I shook my head vehemently. “I don’t want it! I don’t deserve it!” Covering my face with my hands, I sobbed ugly tears.

“You don’t want what?” He settled down beside me and pried my fingers off my face. “What don’t you want?” My lips quivered. “What do you think you don’t deserve?”

“S.H fashion. I don’t want it…I don’t deserve it.” I blinked at him with pain-filled eyes. “I’m giving it to Natasha. She can have it.” I’m drunk. That’s the only way I can be offloading my pain on Xavier.

“Why do you want to hand it over to Natasha?” More tears rolled down my cheek and he frowned. Cupping my jaw, he wiped it off with his thumb. “Why are you locking it all in? Talk to me, Angela…I want to help you carry this burden.”

I can’t tell him that I have a daughter that I have to return to. The heaviness of the words in my mouth prompted silence. Xavier carefully pulled me closer to himself and cradled my head on his chest. His attention prompted me to share with him, to uncage on him. “I have a life that I have to return to.”

Tears soaked his shirt, but he didn’t seem to care. “You can’t bring that life over here?”

“No.” I can’t bring McKenzie over here.

“I’m not going to ask you why because I respect your decisions.” He rasped, his hand smoothing my hair. “But you don’t have to give Natasha the company just because you don’t want to stay.”

I totally disagree.

Lifting my head from his chest, he stared at me, his thumb massaging my jaw. “That company is the only part of your father you have left. He gave you that company for a reason Angela, don’t call him a fool by giving it out.”

“What do you suggest I do?” I whispered.

“If you really want to go away, how about you give it to Natasha to manage for the time being? Let her run it on your behalf until you’re ready to return home for good.”

Will I ever be ready to return home for good? Delegating authority to Natasha until McKenzie is of age to take over isn’t a bad idea. I won’t deny my daughter her rights just because of my reckless act.

“Hey,” I blinked up at Xavier. “Don’t overthink things.” His head inched forward. “Just go with the flow, let things turn out the way it is supposed to be.” We stared at each other without blinking, the intensity of our gaze raising the temperature of the room.

Xavier inched forward slowly until his lips brushed mine. He paused for my reaction, probably waiting for me to push him away, but for whatever reason, I didn’t.

His lips met mine again, ever so slowly, he kissed my lips and I kissed him back. It felt oddly good. Maybe it’s the alcohol, or maybe it’s not. The kiss slowly turned feral. Our lips locked together, sucking, nibbling, and eating each other out.

Xavier’s tongue probed mine as my mouth opened in acceptance. He flushed me against his chest, feeling me out; but when he couldn’t get enough, he lifted me off the floor.

Without breaking from the kiss, he carried me to the bed and carefully dropped me on the mattress. His hooded eyes stared at me with adoration and lust. “You’re so fucking beautiful.” He mused in a husky voice.

Placing both hands on the side of my head, he locked me in, his tense gaze not giving my mind room to think of anything else other than his sexy eyes. Leaning down, he kissed me, this time deeper than the last one.

His exploratory fingers crept under my big shirt, splaying on my bare stomach. My breath hitched at the feeling of his warm hand on my stomach. It feels so hot and good at the same time.

With his lips still locked on mine with a dominant kiss, his hand gradually crept up, trailing up my chest until it stopped right in between my breasts. My eyes closed at the heat.

“Eyes on me love,” He growled in my ear “I want to see you.” Rolling the t-shirt with his other free hand, he pulled it off my body. He inhaled sharply at the sight of my bare chest. “Fuck…” He cupped my left breast and squeezed. “I’ve missed you love…I’ve missed this.”

The ache between my legs intensified at the intensity of his voice. “I’ve missed you too Xavier.” No matter how hard I try to deny it, this is the truth. I’ve missed him.

He smiled at my words. He kissed my lips briefly before trailing kisses all over my face. He kissed my eyes, the tip of my nose, my cheek, my lips, then down my neck.

He stopped at the spot where my neck connects with my shoulder and he sucked real hard, and like a fool, I moaned his name. “Fuck.. Xavier..”

His name on my lips turned him on. I felt him grow harder in his pants. He journeyed down further until his lips covered my nipples. My back arched at the heat. He sucked the right nipple while he fumbled with my left breast, not leaving it unattended. He transferred to the left breast after some time, showing it equal attention.

“I can’t think straight anytime I’m around you Angela,” he husked “you make me question everything.” Trailing kisses down my stomach, he kept his gaze on mine.

He kissed my navel before trailing kisses down. He stopped suddenly and I opened my eyes only to find him staring at my sex with so much admiration and anticipation. Wetting his lips, his eyes held mine as he slowly planted a kiss on my sex.

Gasping at the contact, my eyes closed and my head fell back to the pillow. I hit the perfect spot of euphoria when his tongue separated my folds.

His tongue ran along both sides, flickering my clitoris occasionally. Just when I thought I couldn’t take the euphoria any longer, his mouth latched on my clit and he began to suck. His tongue flickered occasionally as he sucked, the tip teasing my vaginal hole.

My left hand massaged my breast as the right one grabbed his head, keeping his face locked on my sex.

My lower stomach cramped together; I felt the pleasure build up. I shamelessly rocked his face, chasing my orgasm.

Just when I was about to reach my peak, he pulled away and I groaned in protest. In a haste, he pulled his pants away, pulled out a condom from his pocket, and rolled it on. I anticipated him, but nothing beats the feeling of him filling me.

He slammed into me in one thrust, his jaw clenched as he paused for control. Far too gone to wait, I began rolling my waist, but his hand snatched my throat, his breath hot in my ear. “If you keep that on, I’m going to cum faster than you might like.”

I don’t care. All that matters is that ache in between my legs. He finally began to move, his pace fast and brutal, but I enjoyed it.

He slammed into me and rotated his hips before pulling out. Finding the perfect pace, he thrust in and out of me.

My muscles tightened and my sex clamped. “Fuck! Xavier! I’m cumin!”

He quickened his pace, chasing his release with me. My whole body writhed from intense pleasure as a wave of orgasm hit me.

Xavier increased his pace, and he slammed deeper, hitting the perfect spot. I kept writhing until he came in three heavy spurts, his semen filling the condom.

He placed his forehead on mine, breathing me in as perfect exhaustion took over. Before I fell into the realm of exhaustion, I felt him pull me into his arms.

Something woke me up…or should I say something poked me. Opening my eyes gradually, I tried to fight the head throbbing headache but it only intensified the more I kept my eyes open.

I’m not drinking again.

A ruffle on the sheet turned my attention to the right. That was when I noticed the male occupying my bed with me; not just any male, but Xavier Ellmord.

Events of last night came flashing into my mind and I closed my eyes in regret. I have absolutely no one to blame for my actions but myself. I wasn’t that drunk last night, I was conscious enough to push him away, but I chose not to.

Cursing myself under my bed, I quietly got off the bed, walked into the closet, and grabbed my purse and my passport with little cash and my card. I changed into something before sneaking out of my own home like a damn criminal.

The hotel seemed like the best option right now, so I checked into one. I should have left sooner, maybe then I wouldn’t have fallen into this temptation. It’s clear to me now that I’m attracted to my sister’s husband, and the only remedy to this madness is to stay away.

As I took a quick shower, I pondered on Xavier’s words last night, trying hard not to drift to the sex. If I do that, I might end up crawling back into his arms.

Xavier is right, I do not have to hand the company over to Natasha, not when I have a child whose future I must secure.

I quickly got dressed into the same clothes that I came in, booked my flight ticket for later tonight then visited our family lawyer.

If the young man was surprised to see me, he didn’t show it. He simply gestured for me to sit down and instructed his secretary to get us coffee. “How can I help you, Ms. Shirley?”

“Please call me Angela.” He blinked at me, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with me. “I’m here because I want my sister to run S.H fashions until I’m ready to run it.” Or maybe until my daughter is ready to run it.

Relaxing back, he studied me closely. “Why?”

“I just told you that I’m not ready for it. I need someone to step in for me in the meantime until I’m ready to take over.”

“Are you here by your own self will Ms. Shirley?”

“Of course.” What makes him think otherwise?

“Hmm.” He stood from his seat, walked over to his safe, and opened it. He picked up documents before returning to his seat. “If you’re sure of your decision, I want you to sign on the dotted line.” I did as instructed. “Your sister will have to sign too, so I’ll be at your place later this evening.”

“I may be gone by the time you visit.”

“Gone?” His brow arched slowly. “Where are you going?”

Far away…back to the place where I belong.
