MasukDo we agree with Thomas' assessment of Anders and his charm? Thank you for reading - I'm truly grateful to get to share this story with you. If you want to show extra appreciation like, leave a comment or vote with a gem.
“Do you know what you did?”I sigh loudly. That is a loaded question. I don’t know exactly what I did, only that it wasn’t good and that I wanted to hurt the ones that nearly took my mate from me. “Not exactly. I don’t know what I unleashed, just that I was beyond angry, I w0ould say vengeful even. I wanted them to pay for what they did to Zale.”“Vengeful? I’m guessing that’s not going to be good.” Anders comments, pulling out his phone and texting quickly. Zale, sensing the change of mood and discomfort in the room, shifts again, his head lifting and his eyes opening a slit to look at the door.“What’s wrong?” He asks, his voice a little hoarse and his muscles tense. I can feel the ache that moving gives him through our full bond and gently push his head back down with a hand, smoothing it across his shoulders to try and get him to relax.“Nothing’s wrong. We are just chatting; you need to relax big guy.” I order. Everyone takes a step back from the door to show they are not a thre
WillowI’m sitting comfortably on the bed beside Zale, my back resting against the bedhead. Zale has shifted in his sleep, his head is nestled comfortably into my lap, and his arms are circled around me. He’s still sleeping but it’s a calmer healing sleep, one of true healing.I’ve spent the last few hours reading through Leola’s search journal. She’s been meticulous with her notes on what she has done and where she has been. She’s even colour coded them, black pen for search notes, new information about Theron and anyone around him added in blue pen, her thoughts and feelings highlighted in yellow. There are sticky notes, pictures and clippings glued in, she’s been cataloguing absolutely everything. This level of care shows me how much she loves my mother, that she has never stopped looking for her or me. She may have stuffed up by forcing the pack bond, but reading her journal has me forgiving her in full. I can’t imagine what I would have done in her place, I can’t say I would not h
“Good to see you too Leeloo! You kept some big secrets from me I hear.” He laughed using my nickname for the first time in over twenty years. Only he and Juni every called me that and it make my eyes water a little. I’ve missed him.A chair tips over behind me with loud clack of wood on wood and Conall’s gravelly voice hits my ears with a strange tone. “Who the hell is this?”I turn to see him standing at the table, his hands fisted and every muscle in his body rigid. He looks mad. I pull back from hugging Jerimiah cautiously as Luna Seraphina stands to make the required introductions. “Con this is Gamma Jeremiah from my pack. Zale and Geri arranged for him to come out here as added protection for Willow. He, Juni and Leola used to go to school and hang out together all the time.”“Why was I not included in this decision...was Willow asked?” He demands still giving Jerimiah a classic Conall suspicious glare.“Willow was consulted and she agreed to the extra help yesterday when we had b
“Now, what about you, how are you? You’ve been running on adrenaline, and pure protective mate instinct for hours. Wills come over here to me and please let me do some basic vital checks on you?” He requests, pulling his hands out of his pockets so I can see they are free and empty.I pause.I can’t believe I have to actually stop and think about it. I trust Thomas with my life, he’s my uncle, my family, my doctor and yet right now I’m assessing him as a threat. I’m totally messed up right now.I can sympathise more with what Zale went through now.I take two slow breaths and then stand up and walk over to him, feeling the muscles in my shoulders tense the closer that I get to him, but I keep walking over all the same. Thomas gives a soft comforting smile and then holds his right hand out. “Pulse first.”I put my wrist in his hand, and he looks at his watch while he checks my pulse. He nods when he’s done and lets me go. “Pulse is good, any fever, headaches or dizziness?”“None. Just..
WillowI watch as Zale falls back asleep, a little bit of my blood staining the corner of his smiling mouth from him marking me properly. I didn’t mean to jump him and mark him again the moment he woke up but I couldn’t control myself. The need to have him mark me properly took over every other thought and piece of common sense that I own and I just went at him.Not that he seemed to mind. He’s still smiling and it make my heart skip a beat to see him sleeping properly now without the need for a sedative. To know that he is healing. I didn’t realise it was going to make us both come like that. That was a delightful surprise. And one that I now need to clean up before Thomas comes in again to check on him and realises I practically jumped the bones of my sick mate, who almost died, the second he opened his eyes. What the hell is wrong with me.I carefully slide out of bed and grab a washcloth from the bathroom then come back and wipe Zale down. There’s not much I can do about what’s got
I think the top of my head just blew off.I don’t think I’ve come that hard. Ever. We’re both breathing hard when she finally pulls back and then before I have a second to speak, she grabs my head and wedges it into the crook of her neck. I’m right over her mark spot and I can’t help myself, I nuzzle her back, licking and kissing the spot over and over. I feel my fangs shift before I can stop my myself and start to pull away but she won’t let me. The second she feels them, sharp against her soft overly sensitive skin she pushes me in harder and snarls, “Bite. Now.”I probably should wait until we are both sane and healthy but after her just marking me I have zero restraint or power left to give. I can’t hold back any longer. She’s the love of my life. She’s telling me she’s mine. She’s offering herself to me fully and I’m going to take her.I bite down hard, tasting the sweet flavour of her blood. Feeling that tell-tale click of completeness and I’m almost ready to come again but hold
